the only one i've read is the KH one. I read a little of the CoM one but i can't say whether i like it or not.

anyways, i didn't like the KH manga. It was WAY too short and all the fights were less than four pages. Seriously, Guard Armor gets killed in ONE hit? Ansem (Xehanort's Heartless) doesn't even take ONE physical blow? And they skiped BOTH fights with Riku!!!! I WANT MY MONEY BACK! :mad:

however, there were quite a few funny parts.

and i just remembered they skipped the battle with Dragon Maleficent. (C'mon! That would've been awesome!)

Eh, I thought KH CoM was a fun quick read. But I didn't like how there was hardly any real fight scene and opponets died in one hit *Looking at you Marluxia*. But there was quite a lot of funny parts that made me laugh. I just wish there was an inbetween vote choice.

I like the CoM manga, but I don't like the first one so much. I don't hate it though. And for those of you who are complaining about enemies dying with one hit, remember something from Kingdom Hearts II (the game). During the scene in The World That Never Was, Roxas was defeated with one blow, and he's supposed to be one of the strongest opponents, isn't he? And all that heartless that Kairi and Ansem (Riku) fought together? They died in one blow too. And all the Nobodies that King Mickey fought did the same thing. I think that when you're actually fighting in the game, they want it to be more exciting, so they have you hit the enemy multiple times instead of running around for ten minutes trying to defend yourself and trying to get close enough to the enemy to hit it. I know that I would prefer to do it the "video game" way instead of the "realistic" way. A theory of mine is that if Kingdom Hearts were a movie, you might see the fights in the "realistic" way. Sora (or whoever was fighting at the moment) would be defending himself while trying to get close enough to the enemy so he could hit and defeat it. Therefore, Sora fights that way in the manga. Please don't bite my head off for saying this stuff, but I think that's the way it is. BTW, the thing with Ansem having no physical blows bugs me too.

I'm not totally hating on the manga or anything, the "Quit friggin' obstructing my buisness!" pannel is actually my current desktop but the manga seems to just leave things out. They cut off on keypoints and you skip right from Alice to Agraba which sux. I havn't read the CoM so I only mean the KH1 manga.
And i'm sorry i didn't but a middle option on the poll, it was 4 in the morning and I was tired. ^^;;

Yeah, I bought mine at Borders. They're bestsellers, and therefore really easy to find. Same can be said for the CoM manga, if you're interested. I wouldn't go to Barnes and Noble, because it seems they only have the most current mangas. That might just be the store I have here, though.

As for me, I loved the manga...But I have to say, it would have been awesome if the fight scenes were more intense. Though, they're probably a real pain to draw.

I liked the manga, although it was a little fast-paced.
But people who had no prior knowledge of the game could still read it, I got half my grade to read it and only one person didn't undertsand it.
It completely bothered me that they screwed up a bunch of Xehanort's speeches though. YOU DON'T DO THAT TO A FANGIRL!!!!SHIFTONE!!!!ELEVENTY!!!

The CoM manga was 10 times better, though. I LOVED the CoM manga. many funny moments... I don't like how pathetic they made Vexen look though. He didn't even get his own fight. Axel just killed him right there >.>

But nevertheless, it was a decent read with great illustrations... and bad translations XD I liked it. Enough said.

I agree. If they are reading it to, say, get an idea what the game is like to see if they would like it, chances are they will come away like o_0, and try to forget about the whole thing XD

Well they can't include everything, just things they felt were vital for the story to move forward. As for short battles, well manga isn't suppose to be there to picture the whole thing for you, there is a big element of using your imagination.

I like the japanese version LOL - I have teh japanese ones - er...the amnga is cool and cute LOL - but I never read the english one - so I hear it gives a lot of...like if you hadn't played the game, you won't get the idea...

Many of the jokes they add in are amusing to read when there's nothing else to do, but it's really irritating in several aspects. The KH1 manga is really well done, I think. (Love the Cid Cannon) But the Kh:Com one irritates me a lot.
Why?
For one thing, why do they only have like 2 disney worlds? It's really pointless. I hate how they just randomly included Agrabah. If they really had to put in a random disney world, why couldn't it be a fun one. (nothing against agrabah but it was kinda dull...)
For another thing, what was the deal with the stuff with Namine? It bothered me a lot. Personally, the part in the actual COM that I loved the most were the conversations between Sora and Namine, and Namine's submissive respect to Kairi. I appreciated her more that way. But they changed that so much in the manga, and made people more sympathetic towards Namine. It was almost like the manga was like. Kairi? Who cares about Kairi? I know that HAPPENED, but it was resolved in the end of the game...not in the manga.
Anyway, I'm babbling and just rehashing what other people have said.
I really do love the manga, but I just don't like how they change people so much. They make Marluxia an idiot, for one. Which really bothered me. It makes the manga so much kiddier than it needs to be. Sora also looks and acts like hes around 10 (not like its bad to be 10) but he just seems so much younger...I have yet to pick up my copy of kh2 manga, but I hope that they fix that issue, and at least make him a bit more true to his character.

I thought the jokes and quips were WAY better than the game. But They failed by overdoing the anime quriks like sweatdrops and funny faces. The fights were really gay. I was expecting fights on par with Naruto or Bleach, but they were dissapointing. They were too busy with the anime face faults. I was expecting some blood too. And you are right. Sora did act more kiddy than he did in any of the games. I was hoping they would divert some from the game storyline.

All in all, It was very dissapointing. Though the artwork was stunning.

Well I guess they narrowed down a lotta action scenes in particular battles and such, but it's a pretty clever depliction of the story so I thought it was pretty good. And they're not very off on the main storyline either so it isn't too bad. Might be some confusion now and then, but those patches can be easily covered.

I thought the manga books were okay but compared to the KH games, they were weak. There were a lot of stupid puns in there and extreme anime moments that didn't need to happen and the fight scenes were pathetic. I wish the manga were more like the game instead of adding things like Vexen's pickles or skipping on fights with Riku or what people actually said sometimes in the game that made it more intense. The manga was obviously meant to be a cutesy version of it. I will say though that I did get some chuckles here and there so it wasn't absolutely hideous. For 9 bucks a book though...I would have read them at the store. Fortunately they were presents.

That was my problem too. Some things were so exaggerated and made little to no sense or were just to kiddish for me. I could get into KH but the mangas made me feel like I was 5 reading them. The expressions and all with the characters were just wrong at times, and then there are the plot changes too. It should have stuck better to the actual game instead of taking liberties to do different things entirely with some characters. I won't say I didn't find some areas amusing though, but I guess it just made characters of KH seem very out of character.

It's was alright. What I like about the KH manga is the illustrations and cute/clever ideas that was put into the story. I thought that part was neat.

I also thought the english versions of the mangas were quite cheesy like when the characters try to curse but can't cuz it's rated for everyone so they had to have lines like "Darn, the heartless are coming", "Darn it", or "Darn you". So yeah... that's one part of the KH manga that really grind my gears.

Okay, let's start with the positives: The art was very good. Shiro Amano draws with great detail. I also love the comedy. One example being the look on Vexen's face in COM.
Negatives: They didn't match up with the storylines very well. Plus, they're read too quickly. I can see why some critics would give it two stars out of five.

ive never read the CoM one...and no, your not the only one...the KH manga seems babyish and the fight scenes aren't very good (like cloud vs sora...within 3 panels sora was on the ground under cloud's sword)...other than that its kind of funny...and it does fill in a lot of parts that the game doesnt...unfortunately though some people think its canon and try to debate with it...which can be a little annoying to talk about..

I think it's goofy and fun if you're already a fan of the games. My friend picked up the manga a while back and thought it was stupid. She didn't understand why I liked it. Then I got her to play the game and she loved it. So yes, the manga is a little childish, but still fun and it makes me laugh occasionally.

I was pretty excited about it. I bought the first book for KH1. I finished reading it so quickly. I wonder why they didn't make this series real manga like the KH:COM and KH2 ones. Then I told my friend about it. (He knows a lot about the KH series) He said "That's not how it happened." The part where he's in Traverse Town and he sees the girl get her heart stolen didn't happen in the game. It was a woman in the game, and she didn't flirt with him before she got her heart stolen. That's why I didn't bother to buy #2 and #4. (I'll probably get them later on just to have the complete series) I looked through the COM ones and the KH2 ones. Did you know that Roxas actually said s*** in the Japanese version? (KH2 #1) In English he says crap. So...I love the art in the series, and the way they still manage to stick to the main point; even if they do stray from the original story. I don't hate the manga series...and I don't completely love it either. Sort of in the middle.

Well, I read KH manga and CoM manga and I didn't like any of the two.

First of all, the fights are WAY too short. It's as if they got bored and decided to make the fights only 1-2 pages! D:<

Secondly, most characters seemed so out of character, with the expressions and stupid things they said. Really, they even made the organization seem so stupid at times, it gets me irritated

But I read KH2 manga, and so far, it's pretty okay imo.
