View Full Version : Y does Kairi have a Keyblade?
We've got, originally, 2 Keyblades. One to lock the DTD from the outside and one from the inside. Then it's explained that Sora's Keyblade was meant to be Riku's, so the Keyblade universe decided that they could both have one.(That's a bit of a stretch already). That makes 3. Then for no apparent reason, other than she needed a weapon to fight, Kairi got one WTF?! Does she get it because of her love for Sora? Cause that would make it a double hand-me down. Why wasn't this explained? Am I alone in my confusion?
I also wondered. Technically there were three keyblade wielders in the game (not countign Roxas who is half of Sora).
But in the last ansem report, Ansem (DiZ) says that the three strong hearted people were Sora Riku and Kairi. Maybe for that reason Kairi got one because she was strong hearted.
Then y didn't she get it in KH 1, when she tried to protect heartless Sora? Also thx, I forgot about Roxas, ANOTHER DOUBLE KEYBLADE HAND ME DOWN.

yeah....and i think....this is only a theory, when sora gave up his heart for the seven princesses....i guess sora's abilities also went to kairi....which is can weild a keyblade......
That's a pretty good theory. Y didn't those fools hire you, so you could tell them to explain it and then there wouldn't be any confusion. Wait on, that happened b4 they were surrounded... maybe she didn't try to summon it or something. Again, good idea.

A keyblade is handed to a person, based on their properities. For example, Sora got the first keyblade, because he lived in light. Riku was gonna get it, but he then chose darkness.
Mickey only FOUND his Keyblade. In the realm of darkness. This explains why Mickey never locked the worlds as he travelled during kingdom hearts 1.
Riku got the dark keyblade because he had reached full darkness when Ansem took over him.
Now, about Kairi. There's 1 probable reason why she has one. Friendship. Love. These two created a keyblade that had the friendship and love for Kairi, Sora AND Riku. So, either one of these could wield the keyblade. That's why Riku could hold it, and give it to Kairi. They shared the same love and friendship.
OK that's a nice theory too, but i don't want people just surrendering their ideas because someone else's sounds smarter. So that's y i call it a theory, personally i like the other one. Who cares what I like, wat do u think?

iin the secret movie of kh2 there are billons of keybleades what is the problem here kairi gets one cuz she is a princess of heart case closed
Hooray for the secret movie *sigh* I'm sure that it will be explained in KH3 with all the keyblades, but for now this is idea-bouncing, no brainstorming, no oh, i don't know, but the point is that there isn't a case closed. All theories are open for discussion. Also, if she got it because she's a princess of heart then wat about the other six? Not dissmissing, merely speculation.

this still.....doesn't answer's the point......i think......from the start....when kairi got lost in kh1.....i think she knew she had that power.....she just doesn't want to show it......i mean, look when riku gave her a keyblade, she already weilded it....did not dissapear and went back to riku.....

This was discussed a lot before. Kairi never MASTERED it. She only wielded it. Anybody could simply wield a keyblade. Oh and if for some reason Kairi was a keyblade master. I'd stab myself.
I hate to correct u, but Leon couldn't weild the Keyblade, and Roxas couldn't weild Sora's.

1. roxas didn't touch it, only his kb
2. roxas is part of sora.....so there's a big possibility roxas can wield it

They always said "The Chosen" one to be the keyblade master, never meant there would never be more then One Keyblade.
Take Xigbar, which leads to more examples of his battles.
He faught other Keybladers and defeated them, He got defeated by Sora, not because he was a keyblade Weilder, but because he was the "Keyblade Master" sorta like how ash wishes to be apokemon master, basically meaning the best of the best.
But then again, we can just say since Square-Enix also goes for fanbased responses, they probably got e-mails from Kairi fans wanting her to "Do something" for once.
But then there's also the final answer, used alot

WDWDG or WNWNG which means "What Disney Wants, Disney Gets" or "What Nomura Wants, Nomura Gets" He probably hasn't even thought up a reason as to why Kairi was chosen, but I have a feeling the term Hollow Bastion is gonna be brought into it.
I think ur right about him not having a reason. I'm sure there were others cause that was mentioned and i also sure it will be explained in KH3. Still speculation is fun, it's the same part of the brain that scientific theories come from.

Heheheheh.... your answers amuse me, In the KH2 secert ending there are three people in armour: Two boys and one girl. Obviously they are Keyblade Masters, and one of them we know to be Xehenort. My hypothesis is that Sora, is the desendart of the middle man in armour, Riku is the desendant of Xehenort, and Kairi is the desendant of the women in armour, that is why she was able to weild the Keyblade....
I love it, more ideas. I never got that one was feamle, is spent so long trying to figure out which one it was. Then when i could ahe a chick i saw 2. You know the armor ancestor doesn't have to be female for Kairi to bee a descendant. Good Ideas though I think went down in the way of the Jedi fashion. Mass g-- ow! ants all over me.-- genocide.

i think kairis keyblade was one of those that surrounded the the 3 armour ppl
it was like a fake one and the 3 keyblades the ap puicked were rikus soras and mickeys Light dark inbetween of course and they had fake keyblades b4 they picked up the 3 realo ones as well and they were huge so i think there are alot of counterfeits they can be used as weapons but they dont have the power of the keyblade and mickey didnt seal the keyhole because his was a dark keyblade (only nomura knows why mickey got to have a dark keyblade and riku gets a inbetween one) i think only the light one can seal keyholes "from the darkness" see darkness cant seal something from darkness it has to be wrapped in light so the dark cant get to it
I'm sorry, I'm confused. I thought that the 3 in the picture were way b4 KH and the gang? - That not a question!! U know wat mean though, right?

... ya know i think that they did go a little overboard on the hole keyblade thing. they practically gave everyone a keyblade. Mickey, Sora, Riku, Kiari ect. but wut i rally wunt to know is how kiari is a princess. they never explained that.>.<

I agree with Reku, it was interesting when there was only one hero with a keyblade, but now that they can get it at their local hardware store... It's lost it's importance.

Answer: Because Riku gave her one.
Which leads to the 2 Real Questions:
A) If Riku obtained the Keyblade, where did he obtain it?
or
B) If Riku created the Keyblade, where or how did he gain this power to create the Keyblade?
Personally, I think this is the first stage in a retcon of Mickey as a Keyblade wielder, or at least an important one.
Basically, after Kingdom Hearts, we see Riku as the original wielder of the Keyblade of Light corrupted by darkness and Sora as the substitute wielder of the same Keyblade.
Through the events of Chain of Memories and Kingdom Hearts II, we see Sora now as the True wielder of the Keyblade of Light, whilst Riku has accepted darkness in order to be able to fight in the realm of darkness, yet he is still able to wield the Keyblade.
So...
Sora: Keyblade of Light
Riku: Keyblade of Darkness
And then we have Kairi...the TRUE wielder of the Keyblade of Light?
Yes yes, 'MADNESS' I hear you all cry, but wait, we know that Sora is supposed to be the Master of the Keyblade, but does that necessarily mean that the 'Master' wields the Keyblade of Light?

Now, if we look at that term 'Master' again, we could say that a 'Master' is someone who is able to use both sides of the proverbial coin.

Riku: Keyblade of Darkness
Kairi: Keyblade of Light
Sora: Master of the Keyblade who brings Light and Darkness together.
Yes, yes, it's long, it's rantable, it's not well structured, so just take your time with it. :p

That's what i'm leaning towards too. They needed Kairi to fight, and they don't know how to give give ppl weapons that aren't keyblades anymore.(emphasis on anymore, I know about Donald and Goofy)

I had assumed honestly that there are numerous keyblades and that Riku (I have NO clue when) happened upon it.
I was also under the assumption that Sora has the keyblade of light, Mickey has the keyblade of darkness (they say that in the game), and that Riku's keyblade is the keyblade of the dawn (because they say in COM that he is a perfect mix of light and darkness).
I personally (after seeing the secret movie) figured that the keyblade that Kairi weilded was like a keyblade of growth or growing things. It seems to have plants and sunshine and things on it.
I bet there's also the keyblade of the sunset or death or a hundred other things.
My only question is where Riku found it.

kairi: kb of peace/light
mickey's kb can't be darkness.....as he said when they were talking to xemnas he's scared of darkness......mickey has a kb like no other but what is it.....it could be control.....cause did you see what happened to nobodies when mickey's around....
I'm sticking to "they have no idea wat they're doing".

I recon there are many types of keyblades, but why have they chose all of the Destiny Island Folk so far? They could introduce more people in no. 3 who infact also weild keyblades, of different types. These are some possibilities:
The KB of Love and Friendship
The KB of Memories
The KB of Death

i'd have to agree with Axel; she probably got it because she was strong-willed. and, also, i'm just glad they didn't turn Kairi into another one of those damsels-in-distress. i'd die if she was.

i have a theory, when sora transform into a heartless, roxas was created and when kairi help sora transforming it into his normal form, kairi get a bit of that darkness and then was created naminé and she get a bit of the power of sora making her a "wielder" of a keyblade. only a theory:)

Um.. Actually, I'm pretty sure it's basic Kingdom Hearts knowledge that there is a light, dark, dawn, and twilight keyblade.
Sora = Light
Riku = Dawn
Mickey = Dark
Twilight = The only Twilight wielder I know about is the bald mage from KH2FM+ Secret Ending
The only true keyblades have keychains. Kairi's didn't have one. But.. Riku had to go somewhere to get her that keyblade. Hmm.. A new thought has arisen.

Well, two things. 1: I AM SO SICK AND TIRED OF PEOPLE THNIKING THAT THE SERIES WITH THE ARMORED PEOPLE IS KH3!!! IT IS A SEPERATE PROJECT THAT WILL BE FULLY ANNOUNCED THIS SUMMER!!! THAT'S WHY SORA/RIKU/KAIRI/MICKEY/DONALD/GOOFY MIGHT NOT BE IN IT!!!. OKAY!!! JUST CLEARING THAT UP FOR ALL YOU IGNORANT PEOPLE.
2: I agree with whoever else said that Riku just gave Kairi that KB. Also, all the KB's in the desert place are real. They do have keychains. And that (secret ending) happens in the past because Kingdom Hearts(heart-shaped moon) doesn't have a hole in it yet. Ansem blew a hole in TWTNW(world that never was.)
Also, Kairi's KB has a keychain too. It's got a flowery thing for a KC.
