Strategy: The best or the worst?

For many years, Strategy is a useful ability for war or other stuff, but war is the main focus here, so okay, let's say in the movie 300, those were really historic events,

King Leonidas used a very well planed strategy against to Persians

The battle at Troy, they used a wooden horse to give as a gift to the enemy, while all were sleeping, soldiers inside the horse went out and opened the gates and stormed the enemies and destroyed them until nothing was left

Spanish, tricked the Aztecs and claimed their land

so what I'm saying is, is Strategy is the best way on success? if not, tell me what is?

This can go either way.

Strategy can work sometimes. In war, flanking an enemy, though one may have a smaller force, can be more effective than an all out charge from the front.

However, strength can prevail sometimes. In world war 1, the polish (i believe, correct me if im wrong) had a huge cavalry force that they sent charging towards german lines. Though outnumbered, the more powerfull german machine gun would obliterate the cavalry.

Well, there are many factors. One would be, is it a GOOD strategy? Two would be, are the people needed to carry out this strategy willing? Three would be, is luck on your side?

Strategy can be an advantage- but if the enemy knows your plan, it can spell pure disaster for the strategist.

This applies to anything really, not just war. Having a plan is generally better then just winging it.

As everybody has said, it leans a little in both directions. It really just depends on whether the odds are in your favor and if everything runs smoothly.

Of course, you also have to consider that there is always at least one part of every well-formulated strategy that fails and doesn't go well.

To have a succsessful win, you need a good strategy.
It all depends on what kind of strategy you make for what the outcome becomes.
In some situations strategies are the way to success in some they are not.
The outcome of a war can depend on many thing such as the strategy, how good are your army, how big are your army, is the batteling conditions good and so much other factors.
And there are so MANY types of strategies that it all depends on the one you pick/create.
So it's sort of a half right /half wrong question. It's both yes and no in the answer.

It's all about strategy. Strategy isn't just how you attack it is what you do period. It can be a strategy to use guns or swords it can be a strategy to use guerilla tactics or open field warfare. Strategy always wins if it is 1) good enough B) properly executed(communication and other issues) 3) in the hands of a loyal and capable army

Alex wasn't great 'cause he beat a million with a million he was great 'cause his soldiers were loyal and sure his plans brilliant and the communication between them excellent. You can't win with numbers or even technology it's how you decide to use your assets in your situation that wins or loses the war or battle.

That's just how I see it.

This is a little vague. Every warlord and general throughout history, whether good or bad used strategies. Some worked some didn't, but it was certainly better than just running at the enemy.
