Allright, after finishing re:COM and RR HOW did Xehanort's heartless return after Sora defeated him?

He does not return, he just has a little bit of himself still left within Riku.

There were remanants within Riku. How Riku was able to remain himself while posing as Ansem is a bigger question.

Because there's still the pieces of him in Riku, because of when he possessed Riku in KH1. Therefore, the only way for Xehanort's Heartless to be permanently gone is for Riku to be permanently gone. It could be an interesting plot point.

That's a really good question, though. How did Riku stay himself while battling...himself? Any answers?

I had 2 theorys on this. At first, I thought that he was only a memory. But Im pretty sure that its because he was still inside of Riku's heart.
