I only have chain of memories, not the remake.:yelling:
i think that chain of memories is a really good game and the side-scrolling helps you see and attack the enemy better:star-wars-smiley-02, but you can't use reaction commands.
tell me what you think.
thanks!!

I don't have the remake either, but you can't beat the graphics and controls on a Playstation game with a GameBoy game.

I'd say RE: Chain of Memories...just because I found using the Game Boy very annoying. The screen is too small, the movement is annoying, and the graphics aren't that great.

its not really fair to compare GBA graphics to PS2 graphics. you guys have to admit that Chain of Memories had very good graphics for a GBA game. the animation and everything was great. back to the topic, i would have to say Re: Chain of Memories is the better version. besides the graphics, it has more Cards, new abilities, and some more battles and mini-games. um, i thought that some Bosses in Re: COM were easier compared to the GBA version though. Captain Hook comes into mind for that.

Re:CoM's better, due to quality reasons, but I was very disappointed in the difficulty. Chain of Memories was already easy enough, but then Re:CoM just made things too easy (Genie Jafar works for Stocks in Boss battles, meaning Ars Arcanum spamming, Stop works too, so Lethal Frame kicks the crap out of every boss, etc.).

Ansem is just way too easy in the remake as well, whereas in the original he was pretty much the only somewhat challenging boss.

Re:CoM's overall more fun to play though, mostly because of the system change, and all the additions to an already great game.

I don't actually own RE: CoM, but I think it's better than the GBA version. The graphics are very good for a gameboy, but there are a lot of things better about the Remake. For instance, there are Reaction Commands in RE:CoM (duh) What I don't understand is why they just didn't make it for the PS2 in the first place  Anyway, I think the remake is better.

Nomura wanted people to be able to play KH anywhere, that's why he made it for the GBA.

I have played and beaten the GBA version but never played the remake. When I think about it running around in 3 dimansions using cards to attack would be a little frustrating. While doing the same in 2 dimensions was very fitting. My brother and I played KH and KH2. When we tried Chain of Memories he really sucked at it, but I saw no problem in it. I vote for the GBA.

I like Re:CoM better. It had full voice acting, the Zexion boss battle,Vexen becomes lovable and the graphics are stunning. And the difficulty level is lowered down for n00bs like me!(I suck at Chain of Memories. Both games.)

Better Graphics, cool sound systems, more like KHII then KHI, but with more added goodies in the cards.

Best of all, A new system for Riku, as well as the boss fight against Zexion.

3)Battle system a lil easier because of the button and the screen...

I voted for Chain of Memories instead of the remake because although its for PS2, its only released in Japan at the moment (I hope this will change ^^). Chain of Memories is in english so thats why I like it plus the first battle with Marluxia is more harder in Chain of Memories than in RE: Chain of Memories apparently

I voted for Re:CoM because it is a better system, the graphics are better and there's more storyline. It was hard to keep focused at times in CoM because some areas were kind of hazy and unclear. I'm not sure how anyone had trouble with Marluxia at all in CoM though. I waltzed through that and was disappointed in the boss battles with him because others before him seemed harder such as Riku Replica, Axel and Larxene.

I vote Re: Chain of Memories. It's true I do not have the game, but from what I can see, having the characters in full 3D with GREAT facial features is entirely incredible. Brings the characters personality to life and (Need I mention) I think Xehanorts Heartless was protrayed really nicely here compared to what technology could be done with him back in the first Kingdom Hearts. Same goes for the others characters and being able to experience what the first introduced Organization XIII members were like.

Re: CoM for sure! sure i only got it yesterday, but so far its better than kh2 by a longshot. Battle system is great, health bars are more fluid IMO, mroe moves, mroe cards, longer levels, it somehow managed to make me not despise being in the monstro level (which im just beating now). and the first tiem i fopught axel , it was EPIC!*

I liked the GBA version of CoM. Now, graphic wise re:CoM Wins. Actually re:CoM overrules GBA:CoM. Of course with out GBA:CoM, we wouldn'y have the sprites sheets some need to create animations, Comicstrips, and other stuff.

So, they're both good in their own way.

Personally, I prefer Re:CoM... the original IS very good, but I HATE the Dodge Roll/Side Jump control... Maybe it was just me, but half the time, it just didn't work... Re:CoM's version is infinitely better, plus it just isn't the same looking at 2d attacks compared to 3d... and I love Lethal Frame (a new sleight added to Re:CoM, gained at Level 32)... Sora stopping and repeatedly slicing an opponent = awesome lol

But I digress, the better version (in my opinion, anyway) is Re:CoM... new sleights for both characters, new cards... I could keep going, but I won't lol

I like both games Re:CoM and CoM.
But the thing that troubled me was the story...I played the games just for the storylines...
But the updated Re:CoM battle system was good than the GBA version.
But yeah what 'Hexin' said that CoM gave us the sprites and all of that....

Now, while I have not played Re:CoM, I have seen the entire game played through on Youtube, and I do (or did) own the original (I gave it to my little brother for christmas). I personally would prefer the remake, simply for it's larger screen and better graphics (not to mention the fact that you can get clips of it for AMVs), although Riku's story seemed WAY too easy in the remake.

There is one thing, though, that makes the GBA version slightly better - an emulator. (Yes, I have a GBA emulator, but CoM is the only game I have for it, and I paid for the physical copy before giving it away). The larger screen size alone helps tremendously, and I can speed up the game slightly to make it more action-packed and speed up my attacks.

But I'm still gonna vote Re:CoM. The english version, of course.

Eh. Re: CoM had the last battle. The third Marluxia fight. That really won me over. There were some scenes in Re: CoM that were just...embarrassing to watch that weren't too bad in the original. But Re: CoM has the 3D advantage and extra scenes. Replica Riku seeing Axel during the credits, Roxas in Twilight Town walking with ice cream, and the Organization...sitting down...>< Plus I like some of the new slights and cards. 8D I <3 Lethal Flame. xD

Reason: Quite simple. I believe they are both good games but Re: COM has better graphics in my opinion, some voiced scences, and playing it on a PS2 and on larger screen adds some bonus fun in my opinion.

It's a tough call for me. I got Re:CoM first when I imported Final Mix+ and didn't enjoy it. I just don't like the whole cards aspect of the battle system. So when they ported it to English, I still bought it but never beat it (I got to floor 9 or 10 at the most). The GBA game was good enough for me though. It was so much fun meeting the new characters.

Re: CoM. The controls on the gameplay are hard enough as it. It was super hard in the original CoM which I also have. But in general, the PS2 controls make the entire thing easier. Plus it's always good to see the CG and hear the character's voices.

Re:CoM is by far the more superior product. Voiceovers, 3D, added cards and sleights as well as added boss battles.

Though I find a few minor script changes to be a bit annoying (Such as Lexeaus no longer exploding trying to elimiting RIku, or how Axel killed Vexen executioner style). As wellas the elimination fo the Vs. mode. But these were tolerable changes.
