Saddam's Death Trial

Today I heard Saddam is supposed to be hung for all the deaths he's caused. Personally, I think he deserves it. What do you people think?

I think no one deserves to die. Everyone should have the chance to live as long as they want to, even if he's the next Satan, I just don't care. They should have just locked him up and thrown away the key, but execution is WAY too harsh. If they kill him, the people who'll execute him will be murderers themselves.

In my opinion, he did what he thought was right, because he never learned otherwise. Where he grew up, things like that can slide.

He shouldn't be hanged for doing something that he thought he needed to do.

He should be duck-taped to a wall and shot to the point where he is no longer recognizable by large and hairy Hungarian Women with funny acsents.

Im torn on this. On one hand, we're always taught "Two wrongs dont make a right." Meaning you cant justify stealing from someone who stole from you, or killing someone because they killed someone. Murder is Murder, blood is shed, life is lost. Innocent or not.

On the other hand, I think of all the people he brutally slaughtered and cant help but feel a little glad he has to suffer by a barbaric death, since thats what he provided his own people.

In the end, I think it would have been better to make him sit in a cell, lining the walls with photos of all the people he ever killed, or caused to die, forcing him to see their faces every moment of every day until the day he dies.

Okay, i deffinately think he deserves death for what he did, but hanging just seems too harsh.

This is the reason why our politic's are so contradicting and indecisive.

I agree with Cin. He makes a well proved point. Saddam grew up in a place where he was taught or 'knew' it was okay to do these things, like killing, hurting, etc.

What I /don't/ agree on is that he should be let free for it. Whether it was what he believed in or not, he can't come into our nation and disrupt our peace. Whether it's okay by him or not.

While he's in our nation he has to abide by our laws. I know it's mean, but it's the way it was created.

So whatever should be done, persecution, etc., it isn't something to get upset over when YOUR ancestor's made it.

All Saddam ever did for Iraq was good. Now Iraq is a place of car bombs, suicide and rape. Saddam did what was best for his country, whether it was right or wrong. I am not a Saddam fan. I think he should die. But I don't think he should go out as a horrible evil man who never did anythign for his country.

I do agree Roxas Iraq is much worst off then it was, and so is the UK and the US now because of the whole ordeal. I don't want to go off topic so i will stop there, but you get where i'm going.

Saddam was a big threat that needed to be stopped one way or the other, but the US could of done a better way of doing it

yes but we know we all hate Bush. I'm not saying solution is hanging Bush. I simply talk about justice inequalities (justice is only for winners?), and how much manipulated by the media we are, which tries to make us forget that most crimes who Saddam actually did (monstruos crimes indeed) were supported by the US Government (Bush Sr and Donald Rumsfeld among others), and that Bush Jr. crimes are war crimes as well and should be punished. Not as Saddam was, but with a fair trial and no death penalty.
