This is something that some people think will kill you when you are 'frozen'

I think your frozen and suspended in time and in one second you wake up from freezing and your in a whole new world..

(I have more thoughts on this im just too lazy right now)

Hey, stasis is an alternative to sleeping.

It's really up to the individual whether they want to be frozen or not.

but there is the whole 'ageing while frozen' problem

How can you age if you are suspended in time?

The whole process to me seems like a perfect way to live in the future in the blink of your own eye...although if may seem like you would be frozen for an eternity, in your mind you are frozen for a matter of seconds.

If the CFS works, then it should feel like you went to sleep and woke up within seconds.

Well isn't this the million dollar question? =P

And btw, this is VERY possible. We CAN do this already, and that being because we are so advanced.

It is said that within a few years, scientist's, as they progress so fast through science, will be able to officially reanimate every human tissue, delivering vital nutrients, etc., to the cells of the human body.

The only problem, however, is that we cannot determine how to 'bring' you back from this state. It is said, that because of the temperature changes, the cells would excel harsh conditions, and the temperature levels would break cell membranes, etc., and cause significant damage. (This being due to heat**)

And we all know the main reason for this scientific feet: Disease. I mean, I've heard and read numerous times both in school; and on my own, that people want to freeze themselves this way UNTIL a cure is existent.

I mean, people would spend phenomenal amounts of money, in my opinion. The amount of time, patience, and more time spent on doing something like this would make this cost huge...though not like it would matter, because if it were for a disease like H.I.V. or A.I.D.S., the money they spend; whether at exact or save more, would be long gone, letting them be able to do the request they wanted from the beginning. And I'm sure by such a time, we'd have ways of REDUCING the cycle of life, so it'd benefit in a massive way.

If the CFS works, then it should feel like you went to sleep and woke up within seconds. And that is almost exactly how it works, I would imagine. I would love for it to be so simple, haha.

I have too much time on my hands...xD

If it was like you were asleep for a second, then back again, I would so do it.

I'd do it too... I want to see the future and never die... >.>

By the way, I think Walt Disney being frozen is just a rumour.

I love the Idea where actually is the place you get frozen I mean what country I wouldnt mind because sleeping is fine you wake up usual but think about mental issues havnig dreams may become a reality and plus if your not asleep then It will be very very uncomfortable and depressing having nothing to do or eat when being frozen.

It's kind of a scary thought as it is now. I wouldn't want to go through the process until there was conclusive proof that I could be re-animated.

I had more to say, but the thought of death gives me the heebies and a stomachache...I have to read something else...

Could you link me to an article about it please?

Also, I'm sure they didn't freeze Walt. I remember watching a memorial program on telly about him.

This is an interesting idea and I think it could serve many purposes, though the major one, as Darkwatch pointed out, would be for people with diseases. I do believe that much of what Darkwatch said is true, and thus the progress on this type of research is still not conclusive. Still, I think that research here should continue because it can serve a good purpose.

I'm not sure I would ever do this, unless of course I had a fatal disease at a young age and wanted to wait for a cure. But I think I would miss my family and friends too much. Im agine waking up a thousand years from now. All your known relatives would be dead, and your friends would be, too. The culture and social atmosphere would be different, and you may find yourself starting life all over again. I mean, its not a terrible situation because you can always make new friends and get things going, but it would be tough to remember of a life and time that no longer exist anymore. I think I'm fine living the life I know.

I do believe this is possible. Being how advanced we are these days... Why not? I just don't believe it'd be easy to wake up, both mentally and physically.

I also agree with Treah. I could never live knowing that my entire family was gone. Imagine it. Your family. Your friends. Everyone you cared about, are gone. I would go insane. I dunno why anyone would want to do this.

Pros of being frozen:

1. If you have a disease with no cure, you can be frozen until it is discovered.
2. You can live to see the future.
3.You'll be on the "Futurama" casting call list
4.No more taxes and bills!

Cons of being frozen:

1.All your loved ones will most likely be against it.
2.They probably won't do it.
3.You'll wake up and realize you've lost your family and friends.
4.It's gonna be pretty cold in there.....
5.You get NO blanky....
6.What if they forget they froze you?

That's pretty much how I see it.

OMG LIKE IN THE "FOREVER YOUNG" MOVIE!!! n_ņU xDDD I love that film XD

And I totally agree with Treah and Fayth... I don't thing I could give all away just for the sake of seeing the future. Maybe if you actually lost everything, it would be something considerable...
