i highly doubt this is really intelligent.

anyways you know how couples tell each other that they "love eachother." do you think they should say things like that? i mean if they love eachother then how come i've seen so many split up? i don't know, i've gotten mad at my friends for telling their boyfriends that they love them. i mean... i don't know. i argue with myself about this. what do you guys think?

I am one of those couples where we tell each other we love each other, but we have been dating for nearly two years now. I think that couples who have been dating for a week shouldn't say it. It is overused in our current society, and people misunderstand the definiton of love. I think it shouldn't be used right away, and should only be used when the time is right. That's just my two cents though.

I' not going to talk about how many girl friends I had.
I think that it is ok to say 'I love you', but only you really have to mean it.
I agree with Twilightown, you shouldn't say things like that after a week. Only if you are really sure you love eachother.

Love is a matter of opinion, and it's how you interpret the way it is put.

You're talking about love-love, as in marry love....Yes, it is fine to say these things. What I DON'T think should be said is "I will always love you," because that is in fact a lie...

I've fallen victim to that countless (meaning 2) times. xD

Love sucks. But I agree that people shouldn't tell other people that they love them when they're probably going to break up in the end.

i still dont have a gf yet T-T
*goes off to cry in a corner*

but yea its so stupid when people have this conversation>>>

girl: LOMG I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!
boy: LOMG ME TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

~after they break up~

girl: i was just using him, i never really liked him.
boy: i was just using her, i never really liked her.

~or~

girl: *******.
boy: *****, whore/****, some other vulgar word.

That's exactly what happens.

I like this girl, but this girl's friend always hits on me. She has a boyfriend too. This friend of the girl I like is really annoying. But I think if I ask out the girl I like there will be some complicated thing involving depressants and what not. That's why I'm scared to do it.

people use the word "love" too much, i agree. only if its sincere should it be said and not necessarily in the romantic sense. i see the use of "love" like the use of kisses: each time you use it, youre giving part of yourself to the other person. so dont go overboard if you dont really mean it.

ive never had a bf, but im certain about what i say

i think you should go for it, i mean if i understood this right... you like a girl. this girl's friend already has a boyfriend but she flirts with you. right? if i'm right then gooo for it. i mean the other girl can't really do anything if she has a boyfriend right? yeaaah.. if i totally didn't comprehend that right. my bad.

Love is extremely hard to find these days, esspecially if you're famous.

>.< I find it difficult to use the word love when speaking of romantic love. The friend love is how I use it most of the time. I tell my closest friends that I love them all the time, becuase I really do.

Romantic love... *sighs* I wish that was all that was needed to keep a relationship going, but it's not. To try to build a relationship on something flimsy as an emotion is dangerous and can result in extreme pain. That is my warning to you all. Do not use love as the sole reason to get married. Chances are, it won't last.

That is my opinion at least.

i think that its really all in the individual's use of the word. some people use it lightly and others do not. and you usually know with friends or significant others how they use it and so you know how to take it.

still, i dont like it when people, especially younger people, just start a relationship and they are already saying they love the other peron. real romantic love (if it even exists... i like to believe it does) takes time. you have to be with a person and get to know that person on many different levels, and that takes more than a few weeks. so, i can definitely see what you mean. people are immature about love.

but i always say, to each his own.

I'm taking a social psychology class...

There are many different intensities of love, revolving around different levels of Intimacy, Passion, and Commitment. It's possible for love to hit quickly, and it's possible for love to fade.

If you feel in love, even if it's just an infatuation, you're not wrong to say you're in love. Love can be just as simple as caring deeply for a close friend.

You should never tell a person you love them simply because you think that's what they want to hear, though. You need to truly mean it when you say it, even if it's momentary. And this is not giving jerks something to say dishonestly as an excuse, and if I hear of cases then there's going to be some kicking of butts.

I've been in love many times at varying degrees, and I've told many people, 100% truthfully, that I love them.

So, again, to sum up, only say it when you mean it but don't doubt that you can mean it fairly rapidly.

I think there's love. And I think it's FINE to say you love someone. In fact, you can never be too sure if they even like you if one of the partners doesn't say so.

It's the "I'll always love you," that really shouldn't be said. Because you'll break up with them eventually anyway. BUT IN SOME CASES, love goes on, and some people only really date one girl/guy in their life.

Like highschool sweethearts, in a way.
