Could BBS be rated T? I mean Nomura did say that the story would be more serious and stuff but then again there probably might have to do editing for the English version, so do you think we will get a T rating?

Good point, though I doubt it. KH appeals to young audiences as well as teen upwards so I don't think they'd make the only game with brand new characters so that younger fans can't play it.

I agree. They'd lose a whole section of players with a T rating. But who knows, maybe it will be T.

This is Disney we're talking about.

I agree with DW, they aren't going to put anything in that disney doesn't approve of, language and theme of the T level they won't add.

Took the words right out of my mouth. I mean, America did have an edited version of Kingdom Hearts 2.

I think it won't be T rated. Because then they would loose a section of people. So yeah. I think it will be rated E10+

I think that the Japanese version will be T
But the American version will be edited to be E
This is true for Naruto...

If it comes to Norway, it may be rated 12 years or higher, since KH2 was rated 12. (unless my memory is playing jokes with me atm)

It might be rated 'T'
The game has been maturing with the players.
When it first came out, it was aimed at 11-13 year olds.
The the next game was aimed at the same group of people (15-17 yr olds)
So the next one might follow the same pattern... Maybe?

I agree....It has been going like that....
I thought about it, and I have changed my mind. I hope the rating stays around E.
I have younger siblings and I wouldn't want them to hear cursing or anything. It's cool that Square made a sort of....Family feel to it, so it appeals to everyone.

Also don't think it will be rated T (as much as I would flippin enjoy it...).
still has to appeal to the younger audience...KH2 was darker, but still. My ten year old sister enjoys it. x.x
and it is disney. would be wicked cool if it were T though.

I really don't see how a potentially more serious and indepth story would cause it to be rated T.

Does it really matter? It's just a T. It really doesn't matter.
AO would be something different, but T? Whatever.

yeah i agree, i mean cmon nowadays, you've got people playing games rated M+ at 14-15 years old! (halo, devil may cry) you people act like T is a crime! xD Kh2 is gradually getting a darker feel to it and this can especially be seen in the BBS trailer. I mean kh1 was E but that was before the E 10+ rating came out. Sora freaking stabbed himself! And CoM? dont even get me started on the part where axel "finishes" vexen. In the japanese translation, Sora turns around and asks "What the Hell is wrong with you people?" And kh2? they used a pg-13 disney movie for one of the disney worlds, we see riku get owned twice by xemnas and it seems Kh2 wasnt afraid to show blood in it. In other words, Kh with a T rating would be the last if not a non existant problem to nomura, and if u say he might lose a whole crowd of people by making it T, then consider the E 10+ rating. If T is the next esrb rating that means between those two ratings are the ages 11 and 12....clearly, kh isnt aiming for just those ages if many 15 year olds such as myself like it...sorry for the speech i hadz a lotz 2 say.

It doesnt really matter if its T or not. Thats not gonna stop smaller kids from buying it. I mean, some children have push over parents and just have to say "I want it!" and then its theirs. Know what i mean?

Why does everyone want a T rated KH game? Does the rating mater?
The only difference would be blood splats when you hit something, not to much to avoid an M.
And maybe a couple mildly profane words.
The content of the game would not change.

A T rated KH game would be classified as an oxymoron.

Did you miss the part with the ring-around-the-rosey and the singalongs? Kingdom Hearts isn't maturing, every "secret video' makes you think 'lolol dat iz dark and maturez, lawl just 4 me', but it's not, it's just fanfare, in the end it's still disney and there's still singalongs and there's still ring-around-the-rosey and winnie-the-pooh

Curses! :yelling:
On a serious note though, I don't think KH will ever get to being a T-Rated game (unless it honestly have to cover the plot), partnered with the fact that is not really needed. The game is fine and just great the way it is, we've lived with the Disney of it for six years (counting 2008), we can handle the rest. Not to mention, that KH's target audience is kids from 10 (or lower) to preteens, to even teens, and it attracts older audiences. Is a family RPG, basically.
The funny thing is, that while people complain about the "kiddy add-ons", they keep buying it.
What I would only like to change is to put less...cheesy, sappy, or cringeworthy lines and actions (this is more on the English version, however).
But then there's Sora.
Period.

When I first got KHII, and looked at the content rating, seeing ' Blood, Use of Alcohol, and Fantasy Violence' made me say 'WTF?' But then I got to Port Royal, I laughed when I saw the so-called 'blood'. It looked like tomato sauce! Same thing with alcohol. It was so fake. Just because of that, KHII was rated E10+ Do you really think that BBS, or any other KH game on that note, is going to be rated T?
But that would be awesome if it were T :)

Dude, ring-around-the-rosey is a bad song. If the real meaning of that song was it the game, it would be rated M.
Winnie the Pooh is gangsta, leave him alone.
You are right though. It will still always be a kidfriendly game.

Not likely. If they can pull off a Final Fantasy rated E+10, chances are it's going to stay that way. I mean, it's not like the Harry Potter movies that go from PG to PG-13 or anything...

If they were to rate it T then they would loose money. And money lost means that they will be disappointed as well as shocked because the KH games have been such a good revenue alongside the FF games as well. So I very well doubt that there will ever be a T rated KH since they would lose money from not having that certain age-group.

You're right. I have a six year old nephew who plays Halo day and night. Younger kids (particularly 7-10) would still go out and buy the game, despite the T rating if there is one. Hey, I'm only 14 and I play Grand Theft Auto, even if it's not that big of a deal. But kids younger than me play that game, and I'm not talking 13 year olds. I don't think the rating really matters. I guess it all depends on the parents' decision or opinion.
Personally, I would really like atleast the next Kingdom Hearts game, or possibly the game after that to be rated Teen. If you haven't noticed, a huge majority of the people on this site and throughout this world are teenagers and play the game. I say that Nomura should aim for the teens, since most of that age group plays the game. That's just my opinion on the situation.
I actually think it'd be interesting to hear one of the characters curse. Especially Sora. :speechless-smiley-0 That'd be strange. When I watched the CoM cutscenes in English Sub I was surprised that he even said "hell".
However, if Nomura did decide to go through with it, he could lose some of the fans. And this could greatly affect the outcome of the next game and the work on the future games.
I agree with both sides on this particular subject, but I preferebly support the side that thinks the T rating should have a go. It just sounds more interesting. Come on. Are two or three curse words really all that bad?

It might be a little intense, but I doubt it. Disney's involved, so I doubt it'll get that far. The worst that might happen is if Maleficent announces that she's about to use the flames of hell.
