The other day I found out the Old guy's name was Master Xeharnot, and then I thought about how Baldy and Xeharnot have the same name. I thought of something, after the Keyblade War Terra forgot his memory and the only name he could remember was Xeharnot. He must of thought that was his name and stuck by it.

You should probably talk about this over in the BBS topic which is in the Upcoming KH games forum. We've been plugging away at theories to this for a while.

He's got a point, you know. I haven't posted yet there but I have a clue to what's in there.

Yeah, I pretty much am in agreement with that because it's all so far that makes sense there to me. I think because Xehanort's spirit or at least his Heartless merged with Terra, and Terra forgot who he was after, that Xehanort was the first name that came to him either through the Heartless's memories or Terra's strongest impulse intuitively. This may be why later he changed his name to Ansem. He realized he was wrong and something awakened in him that Ansem the Wise woke up, and he knew it wasn't him so he stole Ansem's name, since he could not still recall his own. He probably got the rest of his memories back through research etc as Xemnas when he was free of Master Xehanort's Heartless that was plaguing Riku instead.
Maybe in the KH3 game later we have to fight -another- Xehanort too which is the remnants of Master Xehanort that wasn't just his corrupted Heart. Chilling thought that we just can't seem to get rid of Xehanort. =:)
yeah i think its good =D
wahat repliku said i mean >_>

Xehanort had no clue about his memories about his past and while being ansems apprentice he learned about a thing called Xehanorts memories. And for some reason he adapted his name to his.
It's all in the ansem reports I have a big thing that goes all about it i'll give a link l8er.

Okay guys heres my theory why they have the same name.
If I explore Xehanort's heart with psychological tests, I may be able to
recall the past locked away within. My apprentice Even has also shown great
interest in Xehanort's memories.
Then i of course thought of the secret ending in kh2 were it said xehanorts lost memories. And then i thought wait it isnt talking about ansems aprentice xehanort (in any of his forms. Regular,Heartless and nobody) It was talking about a completely different person. Then i thought isn't it odd this mysterious new Xehanort has the same name as the main bad guy Sora fights? But it also says in the secret Ansem Reports
(quote)He had lost all his memories at the time, but later showed remarkable
intellectual curiosity and readily absorbed my teachings, gaining deep wisdom.
Any mental immaturity is surely due to his young age.
So he had to have no clue what his real name was and adapted his to to this mysterious xehanort. Then i thought about the extended secret ending in final mix 2. The old guy that comes to attack the chasers.I thought maybe he was this mysterious xehanort it talked about in the secret ansem report #1. So maybe the xehanort in the present is some how related to the past one just like sora and Roxas are some how related to one of the chasers.

i agree with repliku anyway.. his theory make sense
but Xehanort take Ansem 's name bcoz he want to continue his research i guess..
well.. i guess he got some of his memories from Aqua armor.. and probably explain why he hate xehanort this name after all..

I'm curious how this leads you to surmise he's not talking about his young apprentice, Xehanort. Xehanort who was Ansem's apprentice seemed young, far younger than Master Xehanort in the past who people here have lovingly dubbed him with the term of endearments: Baldanort and Geezanort. Ansem's note there to me declares that Xehanort was intuitive and very intellectual but also -young- and perhaps prone to some lack of discipline or something that made Ansem point out his 'immaturity'.
The above statement of Ansem's report also to me shows he was studying his apprentice still and he was the focus of the 'Heart' to see if he could gain his memories back at all or not. In the report also was mentioned later in KH2, Ansem also made the comment that Xehanort appeared at times to exhibit 'superhuman' qualities.
Could you elaborate more on why you think Ansem was studying both Master Xehanort and Xehanort (apprentice) or perhaps I am misunderstanding what you mean?
