Anorexia and Bulimia

-I've heard a lot of girls going anorexic and bulimic but i keep telling myself this question:

What is Anorexia and Bulimia?

Anorexia: An eating disorder. Not eating.
Bulimia: An eating disorder. Eating alot, and then forcing oneself to vomit it out.

I don't understand it myself. Why do young women aspire to look like these stick supermodels who aren't really pretty in the first place?

Some think it's attractive, however, bulimia is way too far to go just for that. But I actually still don't get it.

Anorexia is a general word for people who almost never eat. This is most always caused by the person's mental health. Often times girls or guys might think they are fat, when in reality they are extremely skinny. That, or they just purposely don't eat to attract attention. Often times this relates to cutting, and bulimia as well.

Bulimia often is the result of anorexia. Bulimia is when the person makes themself throw up after eating because they fear gaining weight. So, if you are anorexic, you are also bulimic as well to some extent. Usually drugs or medication is taken to make yourself deplete your system of waste. Or you make your self hack up your food after eating it.


You can't be one without the other, from my point of view. :)

Bulimia is doen because the girls are extremly hungry, so they eat, but the yforce it all out. Or, in the case of Anorexia, they just eat stuff like salad or fruits. Thats why I think there's a difference between the two and there can be anorexia w/o bulimia.

Anorexic and bulimia people actually see themselves as fat. And I don't mean like 'oh I am sooo fat!' but when they actually look into the mirror, they see a fat person. It's part of the disorder, and why they can't stop.

Yeah. Good point, Axel. But still; they are starving themselves. That's a form of Anerexia. It's not that they want/don't want to eat, it's that they won't period for reason's that they think are important.

Like if you can't eat, because you aren't allowed to, that's different.

I'm saying the person makes themselves not eat.

I agree with Roxas on this case. Anorexia and Bulimia start out as really strict diets and then they go to really extreme measures. The thing is that the girls do this because they aways seem to look at themselves as fat and not good enough. They're putting themselves down this will cause them not to eat or to over eat because they feel bad. If they over eat they then feel even fatter and they throw it all up.

I've actually been called anorexic a few times. (started in 6th grade when we first learned about it.)But I can't really blame them I only wiegh about 98-103lbs(so basicly I'm a stick), but I am NOT anorexic or bulimic!! I've always been a really small person and I've never really wieghed much. I actually think I need to gain wieght.

yes it is and it's sad because some girls do die because of it. They don't tell anyone and they start throwing up blood and they have nowhere to go.
I think it's mainly because they were raised to be "perfect" then when they look in the mirror and see some one who isn't they flip out and start doing this.

Girls who have that eating disorder annoy me. They only want to make sure they're "perfect" which they're the total opposite of. They can't ever seem to realize that arn't gods.

i was belemic once and i had too cut my nipplez off and slice my pee pee into cucumber like bits to recover from the throwing up and eating my carpet.

my friend used 2 B anorexic.......... & she wuz really thin B4 that...... so yeah, & also i don't get why bein "fat" is so bad cuz it's bettr than bein a stick & a long X ago, it wuz considered pretty 2B fat cuz it meant U were "rich & well-fed" that musta been a really long X ago

my family tells me that i'm overweight. so sometimes i attempt to be anorexic or bulimic and i try to exercize a lot. but actually being anorexic and bulimic is so freakin hard!! and i had a moment when i was trying not to eat, i ended up crying my eyes out and getting depressed. so i was like screw this, i love food and food loves me. i was never able to throw up my food once, maybe i'm weird. hahaha but the best way is to just keep a really good diet, drink craploads of water, and excersize.
