View Full Version : The criteria for becoming premium
was pretty unorganised before, and not many people were completely clear on it. So here's a thread to officially set things straight. Some people thought you had to have the right amount of both posts and reputation points, and some thought only one of those was needed. I also heard some different numbers for the amount of rep needed. 50, 50-75 (lol?), 75 or 100.
So... in order to get it into a more organised state, we've decided that both 100 rep and 1000 posts will be needed to become a premium member (I personally thought this was the case anyway, but then I noticed that a lot of prems didn't meet these specifications). You also have to have been a member for at least 60 days.
Speaking of the prems who don't currently fit the criteria... they will have to be removed (once an admin can get their butt in gear, that is), since it would unfair to keep them there, sorry guys. All in all, 23 prems will be removed.
Soooo, if you're pink and you have less than 1000 posts and/or 100 rep, your days are numbered!

I have been involved in so many things, I thought a had a little word in the color change arguement, but now, just because you want to move up a post count reqirement, that, if I wasn't so lazy around here, I would have! Aww. . . I tottaly forgot this would mean CtR would lose her premmyness-ness. Now I actually care a bit. Well, what's done is done. Lulz, the rep being at 100 isn't bad for me, I've only been here since July, and I've already got like, 59 points. Halfway there. Another 3-4 months maybeh. Funny things is, I don't even really know why I got rep. I didn't feel like I had done anything good. Not complaining, of course, xD. Its the posts that are gonna kill me. But, fom what I've heard, being a premium member isn't all that much better.

Yikes, 100 rep? It was fine before since it was an alternative way to reach Prem, but in this case you need both 1,000 posts and rep. I really say we reduce it back to 50.

Rep isn't so hard to get. Some members have 2 to 5 times more than the rep needed to get to premium, but aren't so lucky with posts <_<

I'm not exactly sure why it matters so much to people. I come here to chat and be a part of things. It's a great site and a lot of the members are cool. Premium is nice but when it comes down to it, I wouldn't care if it existed or not. The forums chats make the forums worthwhile: not the status of people.

It really isn't that hard. Just post in other areas than the Spam Zone and hang around with us some. You can make premium in around 3 to 5 months if you do so. It's not that bad really. Don't give up. Meanwhile, come chat around in other areas with us and have some fun.

Just find a sub forum that you can relate to, and contribute! I understand the chains of the spam zone can be hard to stay away from (just look at my post count), but srsly, dun complain. The benefits of premmyness aren't all that wonderful, so I've heard, anyway. I'm not even sure I want prem. Pink just isn't my color, I guess. Maybe that pretty blue...? ROFL.

Premium members get access to more stuff than normal members. Also, you can change the little thing under your name, so you don't have to be something dumb like Merlin's Houseeeper, like me.
To get rep points you need to have someone click on the karma button on your post, and then select 'I approve' on it, then hit 'Give Rep'. If they click 'I disapprove' you lose a rep point. You can see how many you have in the User CP.

And I don't think you clawtooth should say something about it's easier to become staff. I don't think you know quite what it takes >>. It's not just :"WeEEEE, let me be staff!". "Okay!". It's just not that simple.

I didn't mean it was easier, I just meant that in some ways it is simpler such as you don't need x amount of posts or x amout of rep, all you really need is the ability and the motivation, qualities that can't be expressed by simple posts and rep. you could be the quietest, most unpopular person in the world but you could be staff, as long as you know the rules and what is right, know not to be biast and just and fair.
