not really a fan of romance...

*rolls eyes* Twilight is kinda sorta targeted towards girls, but there is no reason a guy can't read it. Lol.

And it's not ALL romance, as any twilight fan can tell you. All things considered, i still recommend it to you.

xD then don't read it, its very good though.

umm, I'm more into mystery and romance so i dunno what to say >.>
but you could try anything from Norah McClintock, mainly the Mike and Riel series. They are very good. <-- 98% mystery, 2% romance.

I refuse to read the Twilight series simply because everyone else did. I'm contrary like that. xD

Fantasy-wise, I'd have to strongly recommend the Legend of Drizzt series by R.A. Salvatore. It's your typical fantasy-esque story told from an interesting character's point of view. You can start with either The Crystal Shard or Homeland; the former was written first, while the latter is almost like a prelude to the series.

I really liked The Chronicals of Narnia Series. I know they're making movies, but the books are a lot better.

I have to agree with Amber that the Chronicles of Narnia are awesome, as is Harry Potter (although I'm sure you've read/tried that already XD)...but other than that...I don't know any other good books to recommend you, since you don't really like books with the genre of romance much and that's what I mostly read. :sweatdrop:

Terry Pratchett pwns all! LOL It's funny and has all the fantasy stuff.

If you're gonna read them, start with the Death series (Mort, Reaper Man, Soul Music, Hogfather, Theif of Time) But deffinatly start reading the others soon after, there's like a million in jokes and running gags that you won't get if you don't read most of them.

If you're looking for a good series, I'd suggest the Dragonlance series. Your best bet with that series is to start with the Chronicles trilogy (Dragons of Autumn Twilight, Dragons of Winter Night, Dragons of Spring Dawning). Those are, in my opinion, the better books, but the Legends trilogy is good too. But you'd definitely want to read the Chronicles trilogy before the Legends trilogy or you will get confused.

I don't know if you've heard of it but an aussie series called SHADES is really good, or the navigator series...... if manga, go for queenie chan's books :)

For mature fantasy with a twinge of horror, read The Dark Tower series, by Stephen King. He's pretty much the greatest modern horror writer, and an excellent fantasy writer, too.

My suggestion isn't really fantasy, but if you're looking for something that is more targeted towards boys, I'd try King Dork. Great, great book.

If you like action/adventure/humor, read the Maximum Ride series by James Patterson. I really enjoyed reading them. ^^

If you are looking for a very detailed, adventure / historic series, try any book by Clive Cussler. He's the one who writes novels based on NUMA and Dirk Pitt.

Have you seen the movie Sahara? That's a Cussler book, and the book is amazingly better than the movie. But seriously, the entire series is a non stop hit.

If that's not up your style, try Angels and Demons.

I'd have to agree with this. But only for mature readers. It contains many swears and some sexual references. I'm currently reading the seventh and final book, and I'm hooked.

How about the Divide series by an Author called Elizabeth Kay. There are three books which are called consecutively:

The Divide, Back to the Divide and Jinx on the Divide.

They are basically set in an alternate universe where Mythical Creatures are real and Humans are fiction. A human boy with a fatal heart condition collapses on the continental Divide and is sent to this other world. There he undergoes various scenarios involving corrupted politics and the rapidly accelerated development of the world due to his arrival e.g. invention of the printing press. It is a very scientific series as the main character has been brought up with the idea that he will die eventually from his condition and is an unusual spin on mythical creatures - a dragon airline anyone? Thanks for reading and i hope you consider this book.

Well, some of the posts indicate the Twilight Series

I've read them and they are very good.

Full of suspense, romance, a little humor, and drama

It is a fun filled book for everyone :D

Try it and if you don't like it

try the Uglies Series

Its also pretty good
