Partial translation patch

TransGen is a translation group whose job is to translate japanese games that won't be seeing an international release. They released a partial patch for Re:CoM and hopefully it might be possible that they would someday translate the game completely as well as the other two Final Mix games, so you see, we may still be able to play the whole Final Mix series in english.

Fandubs just screams fail.

Some of the text has a TOC which is like encrypted text format and saito can't fix it but he says he found away around it.

I'm working on a final mix translation patch to =)
And so far it works easier

Yes! A menu patch would be AMAZINGLY helpful.

Actually, if you jsut translated abilities, and the menu at the end of the game for whether you want to save, and maybe the terra text, that would be AMAZING.

Really I just have a question for anyone that has gotten this to work. I've been attempting to use DVD Decrypter to rip the information of my Re:CoM disk, apply the patch and then burn it to another DVD. The problem I'm having is I can't seem get DVD Decrypter to rip the Re:CoM disk properly and thus I can't really proceed any further.

So really all I'm asking is for some kind of guide of how to apply this patch properly and what kind of programs should be used in doing this.

well, it's instructions are:

Your image file must be generated from the "ORIGINAL JAPANESE GAME DISC OF KINGDOM HEARTS 2 FINAL MIX +:
RE: CHAIN OF MEMORIES",you must use the dvddecrypter software to generate a .iso file.
The file size needs to be 4.428.988.416 bytes in disc.

You will need to use ppf omatic or other ppf engine to patch the game.

My questions are:

what image file?
what's a dvddecrypter
how do save a file a certain size
and do you nrrd to make this on a new disc?

you can google ALL of this actually, that's how i figured out where to get PPF O Matic. and without a DVD burner installed on your computer you won't be able to do this btw.

Also guys if you see a thread KH:RE COM Partial Translation Patch click it it's mine and you can download this patch and install it with some easy steps I did it and works perfect!

make sure you use IMGBurn to burn the disc.

I've never played the remake of the Chain myself, but a translation patch would definitely make things MUCH more enjoyable! Especially for the large percentage of people who don't understand a lick of the Japanese language. (Myself included...)
