Poll: Disney or no disney [Archive]

I've noticed soemthing lately, everyone loves the original characters, and never really mentions the disney, so I must ask, would anyone really care if they changed it to no disney, and made all theworlds original?? I would love it, that way instead of focusing on the disney story like KH2 did, they could focus on the main story.

BTW, this is a hypothetical question, please don't say anything like They would never do that. Got it?? Good!

Before KH, I did not like Disney. There were few films of theirs that had been decent quality (i.e. Mulan, PotC, Pixar Movies). If they changed it to all original worlds, that would be a nice change, but the two things that make KH what it is is that it has Disney worlds. I, personally, want to see FF worlds or original worlds in the third one.

Like Roxas said, drop Disney and move on to the deep story's SE is known for. We don't want comic relief, we want more dark plotts and evil. Not talking ducks and dogs.

I think the disney concept is cool but they should make it tie in more with the story instead of making it like filler.:)

Precisley - it's just annoying filler that has nothing to do with the Org or anything. KHII was at least 65% filler.

I dont really think they should take out all of the Disney stuff, but I think they should put about 3-6 Disney worlds and make every other world original and new. It would be very nice to see a more deeper story in KHIII. It would be awesome. I dont want them to take out every disney world but I think they should have more original worlds then Disney ones now.

I think that the reason it should be all original characters is very evident in KH2. To me, it seemed like much of the Disney stuff was tacked on and forced down your throat. To me, All Disney is doing is requiring otherwise amazing characters to muddy there hands in their worlds. I think if they could have the creative room to do whatever they wanted the game would shine all the more, but that is just my opinion.

I'll admit, it'd be pretty awesome to see original worlds, but it'd wouldn't just be Kingdom Hearts without some of disney characters. although I could deal with donald, goofy and mickey just disappearing.

I vote yes, because original characters are best, they make the game seem like it was made for just a story revolving around main characters, where the Disney characters are just....in the back...somewhere...XD

Nothing against Disney or anything but I don't see that many movies left to cover. I felt so much more enjoyment at Radiant Garden when Stitch jumped in and started firing at the heartless. I loved the fact that although Tron was a Disney movie it was also an original world. I'd like there to be original worlds with Disney characters like the Final Fantasy characters. Although they're from other media they're also original more or less in Kingdom Hearts.

Kingdom Hearts just wouldn't be Kingdom Hearts without the Disney. Disney is the main reason why I bought the first game! If you want a dark game just look somewhere else...

I think that it would be great for them to take out alot of the disney worlds such as pride land and things but make it more final fantasy but still have the diferent forms say instead of pride lands you could have made up world or Red from FFVII and have other forms like flying and stuff and you should be able to fly airships because thats another thing SE is famous for

anyways square-enix wouldn't have even sold alot of copies if disney wasn't involved

I agree with the people that say that KH just wouldn't be KH without Disney. I just hope that for KH3 the plot of each individual world had some kind of connection to the main plot, like in KH1.

The problem is, Disney owns the original characters made for KH (Sora, Ansem etc.), so removing Disney removes those characters.

I say forget about all the Disney stuff and just have Sora and co.

I think that SE should probably say on KH5 because theyve already dont a bit of KH3 i think but they should buy some of the rights from disney and make a new kinda story similar to KH I mean with Relatives of Sora or Riku or something because it would be cool.

Kingdom Hearts was made because Square and Disney found out that they both had an office in the same building.

Therefore, without Disney, Kingdom Hearts wouldn't have existed. So I think that we should keep Disney. Sure, Square might be running out of ideas for Disney worlds, but Disney is the one of the main reasons that KH came about in the first place.

after seeing the KHIII trailer, i think KHIII whoul'd look cool without disney characters from previous movies(except mickey, donald, goofy, ect.) because i'm tired of seeing the same stories on the 3 games. i whould like to see the following movies on the game:

Ofcause they should keep the disney characters, without them it would just be a Final Fantasy game with other worlds..
But as posted above, it would be nice if they implented some of the new Disney movies in the third game.

If Disney wasn't a part of Kingdom Hearts, I know for a fact that I wouldn't have even thought about the game.

I admit that I'm not much of a gamer. Apart from a few random games here and there, I'd rather watch others play a game than actually pick up the controller myself. And I never really liked a lot of action/adventure games. I always leaned toward the rather pointless, kiddie games where the only action was when you bought some item at some shop to fill up the space in your house. (Some of you probably know what game I'm talking about, which was for me, a big waste of money)

But I have always loved Disney and the old Disney movies, like Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and all the favorites. And even though I have never once played Final Fantasy, or even know what it's about, I started liking the FF characters involved with Kingdom Hearts.

So if KH3 has no Disney, I'm almost 100% positive that it will not be as successful as the past two and I know for certain that I will not be buying that installment. It would just be another FF game.

And I agree with Xemnas, adding the newer movies would be a good touch, like Finding Nemo, Cars (maybe), and maybe some of the older ones like the Hunchback of Notre Dame and Dumbo. It could be a very refreshing addition to the already very popular games.

I like the Disney aspect in KH and I would not have prefered a game of only original characters, atleast not now that I have already played the game. I've become too attatched to what it is now, with the Disney characters and all. Still, I agree with some of the others here that the third installment should be deeper, more mature, and darker, like the FF games. I just think that such a game can be achieved with the Disney characters.

Also, as PrincessofHeart mentioned, the game would not have had nearly as big of a fan group if it was not associated with Disney.

I probably wouldnt have even been interested in the game if disney hadnt have been in it. i wulda gone,"Oh,look! Square Enix has produced yet another Final Fantasy game." and the disney-esque gives it some flair and makes it appropriate, if you will, for all ages.

I do prefer all the original characters I have to admit... but without Disney, it wouldn't be Kingdom Hearts, would it? I think the whole Disney vibe was a genius thought on Sqaure's behalf, and I probably wouldn't have bought it if it didn't seem so... unique. I saw it coming out and I was like '... Disney and Final Fantasy? Surely that can't work!' so I bought it to see if it could, and in fact, it did. Very well too, may I add.
So without Disney, it just wouldn't be Kingdom Hearts.

i once saw some pictures of the fisrt KH production THAT DIDN'T HAD ANY DISNEY CHARACTERS and I also saw a weir picture of sora featuring him part human part lion with a different keyblade. more images featured worlds that never came to the game, the game wasn't mean't to have FinalFANTASY characters, also kairi and riku were not yet created.

I never thought of Disney the way i do now before KH and KH: COM and KH2, i always thought it was a baby thing. I think they made kingdom hearts to make older people like disney and realize how 'good' it is. It is influencing more people to Join in the fun of disney (and to make more money).

It makes no difference to me. If they do add disney, as long as they use elements from their good movies, i don't care. it brings back good memories (along with some bad ones). IF not, it will just be a square enix game with sora and company and heartless. How bad could that be?

i really, really love all the Disney characters, but if it was just them and it never included Sora, Kairi, Riku, Xemnas, etc., then it wouldn't be near as much fun.

things which i totally agree such as majority of KH2 is like a filler. :( i think disney and square should try to work together more. I get the feeling like they arent working together, with things like each world has absolutly nothing to do with the main plot at all :(

Whether disney should go, haha i think it would never go. Square cant like just ask for a divorce cant they, and then the question would come, would would own the right of the game. No matter how much we people who think disney doesnt fit, its here to stay :(

Personally I liked the Disney. It did add a bit of comic relief to the story line but if you are going to do that make the general story line darker! In khIII if there were no references to Disney I would be disappointed. You can take a lot of the Disney stuff out in khIII but keep at least some to tie it in with the other games. I also agree there should be ff worlds. If sora were to go to the FFVII world (I don't think it even has a name) its kinda big and would be weird if you just went to one place. I don't really know. But really make the story line darker, put in less Disney, and add more ff references like have cloud talk or mention midgar!(or edge I guess) maybe add Marlene or Denzel something more!

I bought this video game, bought my PS2, for Disney and Disney alone. I like the original characters fine, and the Final Fantasy characters are okay, but it's the Disney aspect that makes Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 my all-time favorite video games.

It made me get back in touch with these great films at a time when I was slightly jaded by the idea of them. The Disney makes the game fun for me.

The real problem is that the Disney is not well merged into the main plotline itself. I mean...it's almost as if there are two completely different worlds: the ENIX and the Disney. One aspect is relatively kiddish, the other not so much - the freaking ratings don't mix! I personally feel that SQUARE hasn't worked well at all to blend in the two, it's still a really big clash. The only thing they managed to blend was the style and the visual. :/ But that ain't enough boys.

With that said, I say keep the Disney because Disney always wins for me and I hope to see development of this in the future :D :D :D :D

In a way, it's good to have Disney and not have Disney.

The good way, is it gives more adventure in the game.

The other way, the actual main storyline of Kingdom Hearts would be able to run smoother if there wasn't a lot of Disney influence. There would be more of a core storyline without most of Disney.

If any Disney had to be there, it would definitely have to be Mickey Mouse and the world where he and Minnie lives. That would include everyone in that world. That would be the only world that essentially would be needed to continue the storyline, since Mickey is King Mickey and all. There would probably need to be some other characters too, like Malificent and some others.

Kingdom hearts just cannot exist whithout Disney. It was created by both companies and it has elements from both Disney and Square. That's why it's Kingdom hearts.

Aeon Sora is correct, so we should keep what is. It is what to build is the question. I say that we keep Disney, but also add original places, characters, and other things. I look at KH2 and I see, literally, too much Disney. Compaired to Disney, the original stuff at a couple of handfuls.
