I think either George Lucas or Steven Spielberg are right to work on the Kingdom Hearts film. It would have to be someone with a lot of experience of working with special effects and CGI.

Kingdom Hearts is a bit too epic to be squashed into an hour and a half of film. People who hadn't played the games might not really understand what was going on - if you look at the amount of gameplay time you clock, it's usually a lot, lot longer than your average film. Also, remember what happened when they tried to make Silent Hill into a movie? Oish.

Also, to whoever said they should take out the Disney characters... well, that gets rid of... just about the entire thing, really. Especially for the first game. It wouldn't be the same concept at all.

But, now I say that... personally I'd love to see a Kingdom Hearts film!

I'd love to see them explain about 40+ hours of gameplay plot in under three hours. Final Fantasy: Advent Children is a good example of this. Had I not been watching it with someone who'd played the game beforehand and so could explain half the situations to me, I'd have no idea about half of the plotline behind it all, despite the fact they tried to summarise the plotline of FFVII in the opening sequence.

Last night I actually tried to summarise the events of KH, and although it started out okay, I kept realising I was leaving out vital details that made the plot make sense. By the time I was done... well, I actually gave up, because it just kept on getting longer and longer and longer. Same would go if, say they made a film set after KHIII, because you can't summarise about four videogames in a simple introduction to the whole Kingdom Hearts idea...

It would suck as a live action, CGI would be way more better. I love the idea of a Kingdom hearts movie!!!!! If they do come out with one, I would beg and plead for my parents to get me it!!!!!!! But that's only if I hear really good reviews about it. They wouldn't really have to get new voices either, they can reuse the ones in the games, but just put them into the movie.

No. Just no. You can't compare Harry Potter and kh. Reading Harry Potter does not take even half as much time as playing kh does. Then, for Harry potter, it gets shorter because in movies you don't need descriptions like you do in books (plus the Harry Potter movies sucked anyways, so...). They could leave anything that's unnessicary out of a kh movie, and it would still be too long. They'd have to start taking out important things. And don't forget, it's not just the cutscenes they'd have to put in a movie, They have to put the actual battles in there too... And if you add up all the times of the cutscenes, it's already over 3 hours... almost 3 and a half.

I would enjoy seeing a KH movie though, but if they do, I doubt square will be able to fight from having disney work on it.

i don't think its a good idea for disney to do it alone because disney is waaay to big on advertising themselves, so there you can count on seeing more disney stuff in the movie. Also, they could definitly pull it off around three hours. Regardless if fans want them to take things out, it is unavoidable. They would probably take stuff out like deep jungle, and possibly another.

anyway, i did watch FF7 AC and i dint get half of it. (didnt play FF7) it was a good movie none the less, but it did piss me off that i didnt know what was going on, why people were doin this, who some of the people were, reasons behind their motives etc.

The difference is, they didn't start with final fantasy movies, until there were already several games, and they did not start with the first one. Kingdom hearts would be a completely introduced movie. They would'nt have any choice but to introduce the characters just like in the game.

Actually, with the right editing, I think they could squeeze it in. I mean, a lot of the time is game play, and that can easily be cut down, I would think. As far as the plot, that could still be communicated. If they keep it simple and stick to the main plots.

-Kairi getting kidnapped and having to save her while looking for Riku.(A plot)

-Riku being taken over by darkness and having to save him and Kairi (B Plot)

Even in the game, only a few of the princess were shown being captured, right? And there are a few scenes that really wouldn't affect the plot at all if removed entirly. (All of worlds like Tarzan and the Colloseum could be wiped out. Hell, even Atlantica and Agraba if you didn't mind cutting out Jasmine getting kidnapped. Oh, and I think they could cut out two, maybe three of the five finall Ansem bosses at the end! How many hours does THAT take up on it's own?! s***. Still trying to beat that at the moment :mad: )

Granted, you would still need a skilled director to pull it off. Of course, that's just what I think.

Either way, I'd just love to see this CGed like FF was. I haven't seen it, and don't know the plot, but I was still amazed by the graphics. That had to be a b**** to work on. If it wasn't done like FF though, I probably wouldn't check it out =/.

Actually, wouldn't it be interesting if they just made the whole movie in Riku's point of view? That would get rid of most of the hassle trying to work the worlds in. Only problem would be people not knowing what was happening with the game, but again, if done right, they could almost redesign it like that and explain it from the beginning, only in Riku's view. Would call for a new script though...wow, I got long winded. Sorry ^^;;

Eh, really would depend on how the movie starts really...(won't be the same as Final Fantasy VII: A/C was to the game period due to all the new KH games coming out) i mean, if they would decide on making the movie based on the games, then i guess they'd just skip to the scenes, and main bits that's happened while visiting the worlds (kinda like how they did in the manga, with the exception of how it could've been longer)

I'm not going to lie. I kinda was hoping for a CG beginning to Re:CoM cause you know if they did one, Axel would have been in there. Sadly however, my hopes and dreams were shattered.

And you're right, it would be a very very sad moive, but still, if they had it fallow up until Riku took Roxas and Kinda had Sora floating around at the end... it would prolly be their best corse of action.

As much as I'd like to see a KH movie, I think I'd rather keep it as a game series. For the reason being what happened with Advent Children. People who had not played the game watched the movie and all they saw were graphics.

While I agree with most above that it would be cool. I just cant see it. Unless it was completly original storyline. In order to make a movie out of a 40ish hour game. You would easily need over 4 hours of movie. I mean, I would sit through it but it comes down to money again, and no one other then us fans would sit in the theatre that long.
