View Full Version : Zip file for cutscenes of each game?

Hey, I was just thinking as I was re-downloading all of the video files from the games 'Hm.... this would be much easier if there was one big zip file for each game containing all of the scenes from it'.
It would be very convenient if someone like me lost all of their memory and had to reformat....
Have one link, where you can download each cutscene from that game, but still have each individual scene.
Yeah... I can understand that it could be more complicated than that and it may not be possible, but hey, it's an idea.

I do hereby second that motion!
You do know how long that would take. It's literally gigabytes of videos. It's not like music, it's hundreds of megs per video. It'd take days to download with a fast computer, with a slow one it'd be impossible.

As appealing as the idea sounds, there's way too many cutscenes out to zip. If it were only KH1, maybe. But KH2 had over double the cutscenes, so it'd be impossible and a daunting task for the mods and admins to upload them.

its an okay idea, but it would...
1. take years to download
2. you might already have a few cutscenes so whats the point of downloading them again?
3. my WinZip doesnt agree with me

Nup. No way. There is no way we will have zip files.
As stated before me, it would be way too big. Besides, not everyone wants all of the cutscenes. Some might just one or two certain ones.

I'm not saying take down all of the individual video files. I'm just saying put this up there so there's the option of downloading them all at once, rather than taking the time to download each individual one over time.
And it wouldn't take days to download them all. Hours at most.
Also, I don't know if you got that I meant to put a zip for each individual game.
I guess not everyone is accustomed to torrenting files like I am.
I don't know. It was an idea. :P

It took me 9 hours to download 22 songs using a torrent so videos would take forever. Good Idea but wishful thinking.

O_o
How many seeds were there?
because it should take less than a half hour to download that much.
Also, since the files would be coming from a server, it would be much faster. Probably around 300kb/s depending on what kind of internet you have.

It took me about 7 minutes to zip a file full of KH2 scenes, so it would probably take about an hour to zip all the video files on a fast PC.
And it only takes me 20 minutes to download a file that's around 1GB.... Don't know how long it would take on a slow PC
So, for fast PC's it would only take an hour to get them all downloaded

I love this suggestion cos it will be so much more convenient. And it also helps with the broken links on the current video list :D
Some might just one or two certain ones.
That is a very good point

I like this idea, but it needs to be tweaked.
Why don't we have it sort of split -- As in break the game into a few parts, then have a .zip file for all of them?

There were 2 seeds I think.

Yeah, that's why it took so long. A healthy torrent has around 10-20 seeds. 2 seed swould probably put you at 20kb/s if not, less. Slowness >_>
But yeah. It's not necessary for have them all shoved into one zip file. Seperate the different parts of the game into one zip.
Change the amount of zips for each game. 10-15 videos for each zip.

it still would take an extremely long time to zip them all.
