Worst English Dub

The name says it all. What would you say is the worst english-dubbed anime out there?


For me, it would have to be a tie between Naruto and One Piece.

Well, I would say One Piece was the victim of bad dubbing.
Thankfully, 4kids let the show go.

One Piece, I love the show, but the dub is a disgrace to the show and anime in general, it is so bad, everything about it is just wrong, they changed the demographic and changed things that don't even need to be changed, it is like a totally different show.

Well I haven't watched One Peice as much, but I think the english dub of Naruto really butchered alot of the characters names with the way they pronounced them.

Actually Naruto gets it rather right compared to some shows when it comes to characters names, and voice acting suits the characters, though they do sound a bit bland, for a dub it isn't to bad.

The "believe it!" part of the dub is so annoying.

Naruto has the worst dubbing. Garra sounds like a guy who's got a bad sore throat and Naruto has a really bad catchphrase.

Naruto? I mean i hate the series in general but its dub is exceptional compared to its original, The voice acting is great if not better, They use all of the original music, And the edits are small and almost unnoticeable. Besides the bad episode title choices and the way the opening/endings are done Naruto's dub is perfectly fine.

I agree with TTC only because I dont usually watch the japenese episodes of Naruto. I only watch the english version that came out in the US sooo I cant really say that it has bad dubs I mean on one english episode when you hear Gaara scream it sounds much better than his original scream in Japense with the fight against Sasuke dont ya think? And honestly in the Japenese version, Naruto sounds like a girl >_< so I think the english version voice of him actually improved his voice in my opion.

Naruto's voice acting isn't bad, all characters suit the parts, they just sound too dull and unexciting. But at least they kept all the original cuts and music in it.

Dragon ball, only because the quality of the voice actor's was low. :/ I'm sure it would be awesome at a high quality.

Though DB was awesome aside from that small flaw. xD

And Naruto...I just don't like that anime too much. :/

I think he means the original Dragonball, DBZ's dub was pretty good in terms of voice acting.

Hell, all Dubs are horrible.

But if I had to narrow it down, One Piece would be the absoloute worse dub. It makes me sick to my stomach sometimes. It really disgusts me that 4Kids would buy this anime, just to turn it into a pile of CRAP!

In both versions a female plays Naruto.

As for all dubs sucking, that is not true, some dubs are pretty much flawless, like Ghost in the Shell and FMA.

The worst dub i've ever seen is the one for Saint Seiya(aka Knights of the Zodiac), the anime is cool, but in the dub the voice acting was bad and they made a lot of editing. Also the One Piece dub is pertty bad.

Practically anything dubbed by 4kids is bad. Yu-gi-oh was...ok, though.
The Naruto dub annoys me. The only thing I like about it, is that Quinton Flynn is Iruka.

I think that Fruits Basket has bad dubbing. Yuki's voice is too deep and Tohru's sounds like it can get annoying. And Ayame's :eek:

Ok, Ayame's voice sounded scary to me, but at least Yuki doesn't sound like a girl and Tohru....I guess I'm too used to her.

Gravitation has a horrible dub I mean come on!Ryuchi´s voice in japanese is adorable!but in english is terrible

I try to stay away from the dubs as much as possible, living in Norway all I even get to see are norwegian dubs anyway, UNFORTUNATELY they're based on the american version:(

I've seen one episode of Naruto in english, never again.
I just went like "Sasukey???? Where'd that y come from???" My rabbit's name is Sasuke, and I pronounce it the japanese way:) Luckily, being norwegian, my friends have no problem saying his name, as soon as I tell them the U is mute.

The worst anime dub I've ever seen, is the Norwegian dub of the american version of the digimon movie. First the americans edited the film, taking out everything that actually made sence, then the norwegian dubbed it so badly you can't even hear what's being said:p Voices are completely awful, I think a couple of characters change voices over the film. Gabumon speaks with a squeakier voice than Patamon darnit:p (for those who have no idea what I'm talking about, Patamon is like a flying hamster and Gabumon a dog-thingy)

As for Naruto being voiced as a girl, I feel like informing you all that young boys are quite often played by girls in japan. Ed and Al in FMA, Son-Goku (and the rest of his family) in DBZ all have female voice actors I believe. Just so you know;)

Laura Bailey does have an annoying voice. It's just pure "NYEAH!!!" and "WHA!!!". Poor Tohru.

Naruto is pretty bad. If anything they should've just overlooked his use of "dattebayo" instead of having him say "believe it"(?). Regardless the voice acting is shoddy at best.

Gundam Seed was also done quite badly in my opinion as well.

Most of the shows on 4Kids is terrible such as One Piece for example, plus I can't stand english dubs from Yu-Gi-Oh , Pokemon, Zatch Bell.... and maybe there's more but can't remember them all.

Any Dub when they change the city, the title, the names of people/objects or change the story are all horrible
