www.pcsx2.net
download it and you must have a VERY strong computer to run it
(3.0ghz processor or higher, 1gig or RAM or higher, very good video and graphics cards)

this isn't a miracle cure for hacking, i only use it for dumps

RAM just makes it more stable
it wont make it run at 60fps (normal game speed)

Perhaps you didn't get everything needed. I heard you need PS2 BIOS too, but it's illegal to ask for.
Else, maybe your pc doesn't support it...

I see no reason whatsoever to close this thread. This thread is meant to help people who want to know how to run pcsx2 on their pc.

now why do we have emulators? what do they do?

You can play PS2 games on a PS2 emulator.
Also, it has a disassembler built into it, so you can make a dump any time you want (which you need to make most of the codes you find here). Even with un-dumpable games like KH 1.
And, oh yeah, adump like that is called a 'Live Dump'

and that's how they figured out teh Riku Code right?
How would I get my Emulator to connect to my ps2?
how would I make a dump?

yes, that's right.

DL the emulator and the bios. If your pc fits the reqs. it should work. I'm not 100% sure since I don't have it.
The disassembler comes with pcsx2

an emulator is a program that lets you play console games like ps,ps2,gba games on the pc.so a ps2 emulator lets you play ps2 games on the pc.so you don't have to connect it to the ps2.but a ps2 emulator requires a very powerful computer to run at a descent speed.

there ment for people that once owned the console but now (i guess for some reason) its broken
so they use a emulator instead of buying a new one

So using ps2 emulators must be the only way to make your own ps2 codes. I have a ps2 so i can get it, but.........never mind.

no, i normally start with just the ELF file
unless im trying to make something like a character mod and there are no decent labels i use a emulator or save dumps

You're computer's not good enough to run it. Neither is mine T_T... Hacking is so annoying with just PS2DIS...

its illegal to ask for BIOS, you must dump them from your legally bought PS2 (thats the legal way atleast)

Binary Input Output System

How do I dump it?

uh..
How do I dump it?

BIOS dumper BIN, ISO, or USB
heres a USB guide

Things you need:
USB mass storage device
DumpBios-USB.rar
CD-R
Modded PS2 (Else, A way to load up homebrew apps)

Ok, let's start

Step 1: Extraction
Extract the DumpBios-USB.rar by using WinRAR
Then, you will get the file DumpBios-USB.iso

Step 2: Burning ISO to CD-R
Burn the ISO file that you get from step 1 to CD-R

Step 3: USB Mass Storage Device
Your Flash Drive should :
Have atleast +8MB Storage Space
Be Formatted into FAT/32
Been allocated the Maximum Space Available. i.e, Have No partitions

Step 4: Dumping
Insert the Burned CD-R from Step 02 to your PS2
Insert the Flash Drive from Step 03
Start Your PS2 (P.S Only a modded PS2 could load a CR-RW)

Now It should load up like the following Screen
On that screen press SELECT

On the Next Screen, The pointer should be pointed to Defaults, Just Press O.

Note: This is an Important Step, Scroll Down to mass:/ and Select O.

When You selected the mass:/ directory, it should go in to the device and should be able to be explored as in the following Screenshot. If you are not able to do so, you must check whether it has been formatted to FAT/32. If it is try changing the Flash Drive into the second USB hole.

Now press X and go back. Browse to cdfs:/. This is the Directory of the Inserted disc. Inside the CDFS Directory you should have, DUMPBIOS-MASS.ELF. Select It and Press O

Once You Have pressed O. You would have come to the Second Screen But slightly different Which you would notice. The DUMPBIOS-MASS.ELF would be selected in the Default Boot

Now Press up twice, or a lot more times down and at the OK function press O. Now you should come up with this screen

All you gotta do now is wait for 10 seconds and If you did it correctly Your Bios would be Dumped.

uhh, from what i know about the limits of legalness (a lot, i teeter on its edge all the time, lol) you can download a BIOS completely 100% legally if you can prove you own a sony PS2. plus, i think the region/number thing has to be the same, but, yeah...

i don't see why everyone keeps coming to us for PCSX2 information when their website has more and better information

I think I know the answer, Evil.
1) Info is too complicated for them, they think you can easily translate it to newbie-friendly language.
2) They are Martians, so they don't know Google.

Anyway, I looked on the site, and it won't load, any1 know why?
