Which of Vexen's voices do you think is more annoying? I think CoM because he sounds like a woman.

I think RE:CoM, becouse you get to hear him more. In CoM you only hear his laughter and a few battle quotes (I think, never made that far). In Re:CoM you get to hear him speak with that voice that just freaks you out. He's my least favourite Org XIII member becouse of his Re:CoM voice.

Vexen isn't annoying to me in either. Personally I think he's just as good a character as any of the others, maybe better as he as far more personality. And Larxene's voice was far more annoying then his in both put together. But yes, his CoM Voice is worse...

However, I find Axel far more irritating as he so far up himself that... well I'll leave it there. But I'd just like to ask before this turns into a Vexen hate thread whose truley more annoying? The guy who effectily kills all the other Organization XIII characters within the game or the guy who tried to help Sora and got killed for it?

I love Vexen to death, I do. He's my favorite Organization member right by Demyx and I completely agree with Demitryx that 's got far more personality and he's not nearly as bad as Axel is CoM but...I hate his voice...so much.

Why did they have to make him sound like Hojo, why?!?!?! It's not enough that most people think he's an ugly old geezer (I personally think he's a beautiful man, I mean he's got that silky blonde hair, those amazing green eyes and those HIPS! He'd be able to bump Axel off a cliff with those.) but they just had to give him a terrible voice. Urgh!!

I really do hope that if re:CoM comes out in English, they do right by poor Vexen and give him a decent voice...preferably with slightly British accent, that's how I always imagined him sounding like in Enlgish. l3

I call the Re:com voicehe has the 'Hojo' voice cos well it's Hojo's jap voice! In that sense it's bearable at times but it gets annoying if its overheard.

Vexen in com is way worse though due to that Kefka laugh that didn't suit him.

And, though I loverz Vexen to death ( in fact, I love all of them to death... except maybe Axel and Roxas... I just like them... a little. XD; ), I think his Re:CoM voice was pretty irritating. XD; Though bearable when he was screaming stuff.

I'll need to hear his original one to make sure which is more annoying, though. <3

I don't understand why there is a NEGATIVITY thread, personally I find Vexen's voice of good VARIETY *which was a good thing last I checked* and suitable when he was angry, I will agree it's not the most pleasant voice, but in all honesty I can't think of a VA off the top of my head that would suit him better (not to say there isn't but that isn't the point here). Anyway, Vexen is supposed to sound like his namesake CHILLY Academic, if you aren't feeling chills of SOMETHING when he speaks, then his nickname wouldn't be fully employed to its fullest extent. (I understand it "mainly" applies to his element, but hey, can't be the Ice Master + Avid Scientist without a voice to match it! This applies to the other members as well.)

Also, consider his age and his state of mind in most of RE:CoM/CoM, he's one of the oldest, he's constantly having his authority mocked and the prospect of BEING PICKED OFF AT A WHIM is always hung over his head, dunno about you but I wouldn't be trying to sound soothing in a predicament like that. And we all know we can't have an entire cast of perfect, audio-pleasing voices, it doesn't work like that when you have a variety bag like the OrgXIII. Anyway, what was done was done, Vexen's voice is memorable and that's what really counts now doesn't it?

BACK ON TOPIC: No question, I prefer his Re:CoM voice to the strange sound bite in CoM that I'm assuming was to simulate cackling/chortling/laughter in some form. 8D

I was getting kind of tired of all the Vexen bashing. I think I'm one of the few that actually feel sorry for the guy...or at least show some sympathy, especially as he had the harshest death out of all the Org. (though in the original GBA CoM, Zexion's scene blacks out when confronting Repliku, and all you hear is the sound of a slashing blade *wince* Re: CoM really toned things down). Besides, the voice had to be fitted of a mad scientist, and just to add a bit of a easter egg, you know how Axel and Reno (from FF7) have the same voice actor?

Yeah, well, Vexen got stuck with voice actor Nachi Nozawa, who voiced Professor Hojo in FF7: Dirge Of Cerberus and FF7: Crisis Core. For those who don't know who Professor Hojo is, let's just say Vexen isn't as creepy as you think he is.

Vexen was just a freak. His eyebrows had a life of their own, which was as unusual as his voice was. I laughed as I watched his eyebrows just move about however they were going to. It was just unreal. His voice was annoying in both CoM and RE:CoM, but I thought it sounded more falsetto in CoM than in Re. Guys with falsetto don't usually sound that good to me unless they are trained singers and usually not even then. I don't really see him as a pedo, but he was definitely a twisted guy that maybe experimented on himself too much. lol

Someone mentioned he sounded like Hojo...and yeah they kind of do sound alike. Good observation. Both were meant to be mad scientists so maybe that's just how to Japanese mad scientists seem to sound. It does get the point across that they aren't 'all right' upstairs.
