I live in the US. And I think our serious issue is the economic state. We're losing money by the second, eternal deficit spending, etc, etc. Our dollar is practically dead. lol

I'd have to pick, Iraq, and the middle east. We went in with good intentions, and now we're just slowly digging our own graves. To be honest, I believe that we cant change the minds of those who are fighting right now, and once they can get it out of their systems, everything can be brought under the government's control. The US has been trying for years now, and it's not working, they should probably just give up before more of our soldiers die.

I agree. The war is a big problem. We never even started the war like we were supposed to according to the constitution--another big problem--and now we're getting candidates like McCain saying we'll be in there for100 years. o_O;

Hmm, big choice. I'd have to say first the economy is the worst problem we face. The dollar doesn't have real value anymore and jobs are so hard to find that are decent.

The war is another issue and we never should have gone into Iraq without first clearing up Afghanistan. Yes, I do think Saddam Hussein was a problem and was going to be one, whether they found WMDs there or not, but he was not the immediate concern. Osama Bin Laden and the Taliban were and we seriously lost focus going after Hussein. Had he made more of an offensive maneuver I'd have justified this more. Also, I feel that we should have done more against Hussein in Desert Storm when we actually -had- feasible support because he was trying to lead people through Jordan to attack Israel and had taken Kuwait. We did not have a reason in the current to go after him but speculation.

So the war has also had an effect on us economically and it blows. We really need to focus on making business happen more at home, less jobs that mean something going overseas and to go deal with Afghanistan and move soldiers out of Iraq if we are to be alright. Also, working on better relations with nations again is important. We have such an awful reputation right now from all of the cowboy politics from both Bush and Clinton. Both knew of the impending threat of 9/11 and did nothing. Both also gave out jobs etc to other countries we could use ourselves and really we have a nice hole now to dig ourselves out of because other nations truly hate us for the yeehaw attitude. All Americans are not like this. Most of us aren't. It's just hard to prove to other places when these idiots keep getting elected.

living in the us, more specifically california, i feel like the most significant issue is our economic problems. school funding from the government has decreased at such a great rate that about 100 teachers in my city are being "laid off." it's hard also for colleges right now to support their own schools seeing that ucla dropped to about 8% acceptance rate this year, when previous years were about 10-12%. also the real estate business is suffering like a mother right now, especially for those who haven't bought homes with fixed interest rates, now they suffer in paying off their mortgages. it's really bad right now, gotta blame our governator.

It doesn't surprise me California is getting affected at such a significant amount. The big cities seem to be getting a LOT of blowback. I live in the UK, specifically England, and personally I think the biggest trouble we have at the moment is discipline in young people.
Politicians at the moment are focusing on racial, crime and illegal immigration issues. The first 2 would not have been such a big problem today if people were taught discipline at an earlier age, something that no one seems to care about anymore. I mean, I know a lot of elder aged people in their 60s and 70s who had a strict childhood, and since than have always respected their elders and cared about their country thanks to a lot of discipline put in place by their parents and government. I myself am probably similar, thanks to my own parents and how they brought me up, but I see other kids at my school and on the streets and they don’t give a sh!t about anyone else but themselves and leads a lot of problems in later life such as breaking the law, not being able to get good grades in school, some even being told by their parents immigrants are a problem leading to some racial attacks and so on.
More recently, I was talking to my friend from school on MSN and he had to go because an elderly man on the road outside his house. The next day I talked to him, he said that his brother saw that this elderly man was just walking his dog down the street when this group of older teens came up and started kicking this guy to the ground for no apparent reason, he was half dead when the ambulance arrived and now he's recovering in hospital.
It just doesn't seem like anyone cares for anything than themselves anymore, and that’s thanks to no discipline.

That's pretty sad and some people are naturally just cruel like that. It's not even a matter of discipline as it is a matter that parents aren't communicating to kids about benevolence because they aren't showing kids benevolence and understanding in so many places. Parents really do need to spend more time with their kids and show them positive things about themselves and other people instead of giving kids so much negativity. It does seem a lot of parents instead just pass on traits of racism and intolerance, religious intolerance, bias, gender and sexual preference hatred etc and these parents seriously need their heads evaluated as they make it hard for decent parents and children to do the right things.

I've seen things like that including when growing up this boy a couple years older than me went and put a jar of urine on this old woman's doorstep and did other nasty things to her to scare her. She lived across from me and I used to mow her lawn and she'd sit around outside and tell me of times when she was growing up. It seems so nostalgic to remember listening to the stuff about her during some very hard times. In the end I went and beat the crap out of boy to get him to leave her alone because the parents of the boy kept covering for him and nothing was being done. My dad was then told of it by his dad and knowing what the boy had done he said to call the cops if he wanted to and my dad would help the woman across the street and others terrorized by the boy to see them all in court so the whole thing was dropped. However, after, my dad talked to me and said that though he sided with my action because no cops would do anything etc, I had to make sure I didn't solve all problems that way. Some kids are nasty whether they have good parents or not but many do just seem to have parents that neglect them or are way too strict. It kind of makes me hope when I'm a parent I make sure to find a happy medium because I don't want to be either to strict or too lenient when it comes to this. Parenting is a responsibility and I do agree that quite a few people are doing it wrong by either not wanting the responsibility and feeling it's thrust on them or they are selfish and just care about themselves.

The biggest problems in the United States all fall back on the government. The economy? Regulated by the government. Oil crisis (which is making the economy worse)? Caused by war. Who initiates war? The government. The environment? So much of the pollution is caused because of industry and there is no regulation on CO2 footprints, which there should be. I think instead of inventing high-def everything, scientists and inventors should be creating more affordable ways to slowly switch to solar power. you can still have an emergency generator or whatever.

I'm sorry, but the United States Government has become a Joke. I'm not blaming any presidents or government figures specifically, but really. I just hope that someone can turn it around before another crisis comes up.

I agree, the main problem here is Knife Crimes (I've been hearing about those alot lately), racial slurs, and people mainly teens aren't behaving. I was on MSN the other day chatting to my friends, then this guy who used to be in my School came out and started swearing at us and saying that he was going to call his friends to beat us up. Then we had to tell our headteacher about the incident which involved the police, just like how one year ago, I guy that was in my school, Canons High School kept throwing eggs at people in school and carrying a knife, what happened to civilized people these days?

May I also mention the rising prices of Petrol and bills that you have to pay?

My small town is actually an okay place, but I work in a really shitty area in a big city. It's like the bronx of the North East. xD I can't go a day without seeing someone get arrested. The place is literally heaving with chavs. They just need to learn some respect and realise that the world doesn't revolve around them and that people should have to take all their crap. I'm surrounded by these stupid 'ENOUGH IS ENOUGH' campaign signs, too. It just shows how bad the place is if they have to put up posters telling people to behave like civilised people. :l

Biggest probelms and why:

Economy-We have a bad tilte of this and so far every president that we had said they'll fix it but that has yet to happen

Crimes- People are dying every minute and most crimes goes unsolved

Discrimation- Like the whole gay thing. People have yet to appect different people and if we are fighting with each other then will we ever be 'truely' able to fight with other conutries?

Drugs- God...I know that at least 80% of my middle school are able to get drugs without even trying

The conversion from US dollars to taka is really sad too. One US dollar is 68.575 taka . . . O.o' Oh dear, this is a new value, just a few months back, it was 62 or something. *facepalm* They keep borrowing, and printing new money, and now the country is in a gigantic debt. Oh joy. People are dying in hunger in the streets, rotting there with no one caring. Who would? When you're trying to keep your own damn family alive. Oh, and even when there's hardship and a low income, the babies just keep on coming like it's a freaking factory! The population count for Bangladesh is definitely on the top 10 list. Now the expansion of the city is just . . . crap, I don't even want to talk about it. Let's just say, there is no sky and the freaking COUNTRY is slowly sinking.

Do I even want to talk about the politics? C-O-R-R-U-P-T-I-O-N. That's the only definition of politics the damn people know. Favoritism, rigged elections, assassinations . . . It's the gilded age in the country, always have, and always will be. Oh golly!! It's all about money and power. If you think that US has it bad, then oh boy are you wrong! 8D The country get's some money from another country to distribute to the poor. Half of that amount will suddenly disappear among the top politicians, the second half will also disappear among the secondary line, then the third half, the fourth half and so on, until you only have just enough to go buy some rags you can call a blanket and give them out to the poor.
