well, ive always wondered if my friends were really my friends or not. how can you tell if somebody really likes you or if theyre just pretending? also, have you ever felt like you dont even fit in with your friends? like, you dont belong with the people you usually hang out with?

that's an easy one. try asking them personal questions. if they dodge the question a lot or change the subject, that's a sign of insencierty. and just hang out with them, it's no big deal if u don't fit in, they're ur friends

Friiends wshould except you,no matter what.
If your gay,were experimenting with your sexual prefrences,or even if you were in jail for some period of time.If someone doesn't except you,because of some facts about you,they are not true friends.I have found this out before,and it wasn't pretty.Friends will do favor's for you,help you for whatever reason.A friend is someone you can depend on.

Well if you feel like that i think you should talk to them. Trust me i had to learn this by the hard way...really painfull..

I found out who my real friends were when I had a few difficulties. They were the ones who didn't judge me and were there for me. It's amazing how people disappear when you need them to stick with you, but real friends are there to help. I trust my friends and they trust me, as we've been through some 'interesting' times together and come out the other end ok.

True, but I have friends that would do steal even from their best friend. But I think that's cuz they're not mature enough to understand what a real friend is.
I guess there are 2 types of friends: The real ones that you can trust all your life. And the party friends and hang out freinds.
Damn I have too many of the second one and not enough of the first one..

Ask them "Would you die for me?" If they say yes, then they are you real friends.. Then you kiss them, caress them and.. -censored- XDDD Nah I'm kidding. People can suggest lots of ways to find out who your real friends are, but you'll never really know. You don't know whats going on in their head. You could have a really emotional talk with them, but their 'sincere' answers could be an act. I guess you just have to trust them, and if they are decent enough, they trust you too :/ This topic is confusing me XD

You're completely right. I have a few close friends who I know I can rely on 100% and they know they can rely on me. I also have quite a few 'party' friends, who are fun to hang out with. That's an excellent description Axel.

problem is I have too many second category (though you might never have too many) compared to first category...:confused:

I think that's how it works. I only have a few in the first category, but they are real diamonds. I found that you only need a few when push comes to shove, but those few become priceless.

I would always be there for them as well, as thats what true friendship is.

Most people in my friends category are the second type, who I really love to hang out with, but I wouldn't expect them to go above and beyond the fun bit.

Same here. And a lot of them are just not mature enough to think about being one of those first category guys. Theyre just PARTYPARTY, lifes good.

Yes, friends accept you with all your eccentricities and quirks, and never try to change you into something else. That goes for both types of friends though, full & party.

Anyone who expects you to change completely in order to be your friend, isn't a real friend.

What's wrong with asking for your friend for something? In some ways, it can help a friendship. If you give your friend and I.E. a game you never play, then it will bring more trust into the friendship.

That basically explains the first type of friend I mentioned before. But there's alwasy the second type.

And I think now that Namine 4.0 has seen all these opinions, the thread CAN be over.

Friends are people who would have your back if you get teased or put down in someway. They're not your friends if they tease you in a hurtful way, and mean to do it. If you feel like an outcast, just try and find people who are more like you and hang out with them more. But don't forget about the people who you were first friends with, say hi to them once in a while. Friends are the people who really care about you, and will try and convince you not to do something that isn't cool or is Illegal cuz they don't want you to get hurt.
