I used to play piano for a year or so... I think... or 2 years... though I think something happened to our piano teacher. Moved out of the country I think? Though... we didn't get another one.... we have a keyboard at home though. So when I've got nothing much to do I sometimes play >_<

My brother is much better though, he plays by ear too. He plays all his instruments by ear actually... but yeah ;p other words... I suck at piano >_> but I have fun playing the few songs I know ;D

Oh my God, Amaranth has SO MANY octave chords.
One part goes (this is all in the normal bass clef) :

B flat - B flat
A - A
F - F
D - D
E sharp - E sharp

Then there's two more parts that have that, except it's twice, and the second time the right hand has the same octaves, but higher. It sounds cool, but it kills my wrists if I haven't practiced in two or three days.

The absolute worst part are the notes to the lines that go, "Reaching, searching, for something untouched, Hearing voices of the Never-Fading calling..."
And the whole time, which is like...a page, the left hand is:

Repeat for about ten to fifteen measures. X_x;;
And there's a right hand to that, too, and the only hard part is the timing.

Yeah, I've been playing the piano for about 5 years although I didn't start taking it seriously until last year so I'm still pretty bad. I have, however, improved more during the last six months than I had during the last 3 years before that. =P Now I practice daily and I'm improving fast. I used to be able to play Dearly Beloved from Kingdom Hearts, but I've forgotten how it goes now so the only tracks I can currently play are Organization XIII, Naminé, Celes's Theme, (FF VI) Fragments of Memories (FF VIII) and Terra (FF IX) and I'm planning to learn Loss of Me (FF IX) next. I can also play a whole bunch of trash (and some decent songs) just because my piano teacher wants me to.

I never took piano lessons but I did have one of those electric piano things that had light up keys to show you how to play a certain song. I still suck at playing the piano. Oh well. I'm more of a drums person anyways. >_>

I learned the very basics in sixth grade, then had a bit of a refresher in seventh. I liked playing it, and I wasn't bad at playing what I knew (which was only, like, the middle C area and two chords xD), but I wished I could take it up again. My grandparents recently bought my sister and me a keyboard, so I'm trying to get into it. :> I'm good at reading music if I give myself some time, but I tend to get really discouraged.

Right now I can play, like, three measures of "Boston" by Augustana flawlessly. 8D I'd really like to learn "A Letter to Elise" by The Cure, but I need sheet music.

Hey, I suggest you start taking lessons again. I used to take lessons, but not I'm playing by ear and teaching myself. I'm really good, but if I had a chance I would like to take lessons again. People pay you more if you can read music depending on who hires you.
