So yeah, last week I got myself Crisis Core. Which explains why I've been less online, cause I've been playing like crazy for hours ever since Wednesday-ish. But last night around 3 AM, I suddenly am not allowed to save my progress. I can still play the game but I can't save. The file shows itself as corrupt, and I've tried deleting it and saving again but it won't work. The message "Save failed. The Memory Stick could not be accessed." will always show whenever I try saving.

Facts:

* My Memory Stick is a 2Gb sized one, and there's a hella load of free space in it still. (I only have three other games after all)
* I can still see the other games' files, just not Crisis Core.
* I did play for hours daily yeah, today I let the PSP rest for 14 hours incase it was overheated. I still get the same message.
* At the time, the battery started blinking so I plugged it to the charger. A few hours later the problem started. (I'm a person who saves OFTEN)
* The PSP model is a 1006, meaning it's not a European model. But the games still work.
* I have never had this problem before with any other game.
* The game was ordered through a British gamestore online, it was the limited edition Crisis Core.

Suggestions anyone? I sorely need anything! I'm going crazy with this corrupt file crap.

I'm guessing the Memory Stick isn't inserted properly, or it came loose or something. Take it out and re-insert it, and see if it works then.

I have tried it now. Many times.

It didn't work.

Ok. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.

Maybe you'll just have to buy a new memory stick, which really, really sucks, it's got to be said, especially considering how damn expensive they are.

I appreciate that you tried though. :3

omfg new problem.. I tried to see if I could save a file from one of my other games ( Daxter, one of my files was 9% in the game, main one is 96% ), and lol behold - now that save file is ALSO corrupted! I can't play a single game without risking losing everything I've done!!

So it's not Crisis Core's fault after all. It's either the PSP or the memory stick.

I'll ask and dig about it before actually buying one, they ARE expensive yes... And I live in an expensive country so it'll be hell. >> That should be my LAST solution.

Yeah, I live in Ireland and they're like €50...which is outrageous. Still, it's better than buying a new PSP, I suppose. Maybe if your warranty is still valid, Sony will give you a new one. :rockdover:

I haven't even had it in a year.. I bought it when I was in Gran Canaria during October/November 2007, and since it was bought there it was a Hong Kong model of the PSP, not European. That's where the memory stick and one of my games are from as well. But this problem first appeared last night. It's been completly fine all this time. If I can ask the peeps running game shops about it, maybe even checkups, then that'd be great. But I still keep the "bought in another country" thing at the back of my head.

I just don't understand anything. =.=

Try reformatting the memory stick. Back-up the files on your computer first though...unless you want to lose everything.

Re....formatting..? I'm not sure what that means, even less how to do that? Explaining to a poor little soul like me would be LOVE. *I'm an ignorant person sometimes*

But yes, moving the files to a computer... That sounds like a plan! I already have a USB cable that can be plugged to the PSP! It's worth a shot!

HOSPITAL, STAT!

Formatting basically means wiping out all your data for your Memory Stick to be like how it was in it's initial start.

So after backing up your data on the computer, go to your PSP Settings > System Settings > Format Memory Stick.

No problem. I figured that'll work...seeing as it was memory related.
