Every week, I scour the video portal's latest submissions and pick my top five favorites. Just because you don't make it into the top five does not mean that you're video wasn't good. We just have so many good videos that they're hard to choose from!

Sorry everything is so behind, I was on holiday, and as I went to post this yesterday, the died had a heart attack. But anyway, I would like to thank RvR for doing the Top 5 for one week, I liked the choices he made and I really appricate it. Here is the T

Oh my ****ing god. A video on the portal hasn't blown me away like this in a while. This is the next step for the editors here. Use photoshop, it is your friend they go together so well if used properly. Some parts seemed repeatitivebut that is nitpicking and there is no story, but considering the music, there isn't much need for one. I loved every minute of here. My favourite video on the portal so far. Congrats.

A solid video, good flow timing, everything we would expect from you, the part of 0:49 ruined the flow a bit, and felt too slow compared to the style of editting you did before it. But beyond that. Really liked it.

Well Red is a popular band choice here, good thing I used it before it got generic. XD I loved the intro, bit long, but at least it looked very nice. Only gripe about the MEP was that all the editting styles together all with their own timing style, make it seem cramped and almost a bit messy, also some of the masking and effects during the slow part. Yes Masking is fantasitc but don't abuse it. I found the video very effects heavy, nothing wrong with that, but there is a time a place, use it for really fast paced songs, songs like this you need more drive then effects. Sorry for the small rant, I really did enjoy the video.

Another solid video, again for a slow song like this, there were some pointless effects like at 0:15, also some of the flow was eh, but beyond that, it was well made.

A good emotional video, can't complain about the editting much, but yet it gives me an...meh impression, because it's nothing new. Still didn't stop me from enjoying it.

#1 really blew my whole mind away. Even though I've seen Sukey use photoshop effects on her AMV before, this one is pretty awesome too. Nice top 5 ;)

Probably not, I can't change the ads that appear in Portal, the whole thing is run by another site, all we do is manage the videos uploaded here and the member who sign up.

... Wow. One of the best Top Fives I've seen in... well, quite a while. First place was absolutely AWESOME. Never seen Photoshop incorporated into a video that smoothly /ever/. All of the other videos were really astounding, too. I can't say I have a favourite out of any of them. I'm surprised I even placed this week. My video was just something I did in a few days with only a couple of effects and no real story. xD Still, glad I got fifth. Great job to everybody who placed this week!

Uhh...I guess people consider I have photoshop with my gimp editing..? Its a free image editing software , Just google gimp and anyone could use it I can say it can be good as photoshop if you know how to use it correctly. The olny things I wish for from gimp is. Better filters , Better graphic quality brushes.

But, dont feel down! My video derserves nothing , It olny derserves those who care to make a comment to it or just view it. Carry on making videos like that (well try different styles) but keep making videos constantly and you will get noticed more. If people see your name crop up more they are more likely to notice you. You have skill, and are a great editor. You deserve to be known.

I know of you. A familiar name in the portal to me. Yes WMM is limiting, but just stick at it, great things can be made with it...sure mainly in the emotional department, but they can.

Actually they were called Arc something circles , I think i got the name of the guy , but for me to open gimp..It will take litterally 13mins. and freeze on me for all that time and im too lazy. Check on the newest made brushes around the 10th page they should have a display of those and many other great ones for download.

I have about 5 , Thats alot lol , Though I olny talk to 1-2 of them; The rest stopped talking to me or arnt online much, but I say hello every now and then . Most likey it should. It enables windows 2000 and higher; From What I see it says it is valid for mac , If not check the requirements or google if gimp can be downloaded with a Mac.

Click here to download (http://www.gimp.org/downloads/) I would rather take a try at getting photoshop instead or some kind of other material image editor , Photoshop cs2 and cs3 are very good and same goes for 7.0 if used experimentally well,You can go buy it if you like or either go through all those trojans and keygens; As most people take photoshop for free. But if your not willing to do that stuff , You should consider going for gimp , Deviantart has a very good amount of gimp brushes enabled for download , They can act well as photoshop though I have to say the graphic quality is a bit lower for the brush sets. (I wouldn't recommend buying from ebay or anything , They rip you off no offense when it comes to programs and there is always something with the disk that is messed up; sometimes not though. My friend got rip off at one point and I cant remember if they can return stuff from ebay but.) just generally speaking The first 2 options I would recommend.

Whoa..Im surprised I didnt see this one , But trust me you'll get the hang of it , I said the same to myself , Just mostly stay in the filters section, colors, image and the most common edit and files. I olny recommend that because You'll get confused if you do more than that for beginner's level , Check out the other things for it if you like , It is a powerful program despite it is hard to use.

If you need help to install these brushes go to.

My computer > local disk drive C: > Program files > Gimp 2.0 > Share > gimp > 2.0 > brushes.

Copy all of the brushes in the downloaded folder then cut them , Paste them into 'brushes' and your done. Close that folder and look for more.

Another thing. If you get an 'Abr' brush rename it and put the 'Abr' To 'Gbr' and it should work , If not then get the abr viewer and it should be in the help page of gimp and or just google it make a useless folder.

Then when you use the abr viewer put those images in the useless folder when you export it and im not going to explain all of this since I already said go to the help page for it..But yea , They didnt mention this part but.

If the brushes dont work those png files you have in your folder save each of them as 'Gbr' and they should be able to be used for brushes at least from my view I cant be too sure since I am experiencing gimp myself but I hope this helps.

Number one was okay. Mostly becasue the same effect was used over and over. Though, it makes since the way it ripples. That had to be more than just photoshop too and some serious editing in either premiere or vegas. WMM has died.
