Well, before I say I should give a little backstory.

I'm at my mom's (ugh) and she isn't that computer literate. Basically, she can barely do more then log on and check her email. So two days ago, a little pop-up came up saying I had five high risk bugs and two critical viruses, and I could not X out of the program no matter what I tried to do. So then, I downloaded it, and every few seconds the screen would be flooded with virus detection and scans, blah blah blah. So yesterday, I got rid of that, as well as another program which I needed to block pop-ups, but my mom said all she used was Spy Sweeper and it was fine before I got rid of the first one.

Well, all of the virus scans are gone, but now I get pop-ups every time I open up a page, and some include porn. I have four days before I leave my mom's, so I need help, like, nao, before she sees all the pop-ups.

Edit: I do not remember the name of the pop-up protector.

My friend experienced this problem.

I downloaded him "Ad Aware SE Personal". And did a system scan. Don't remember if it was smart of full. And at the end of the scan, you'll be able to review all the "critical material". There you can read descriptions. One of them, I'm not sure of the name has the description of Porn Ads or something. Similar to that. Just delete ALL of the threats including the adult thing. He doesn't have problems now =\

I suggest you do the same.

Adaware or Spybot both work pretty well to help get rid of popups like that and isolate these sorts of things. Hopefully either program will do the job.

www.download.com < a lot of free anti-spy and virus programs, mostly trails of good programs, just use some from this site till you can get a proper anti-virus program... just don't get Norton...

Also clear your cookies from your net browser, that might get rid of some pop-ups

I downloaded Ad-Aware, it appears to be working. I'm back at my dad's now and won't be seeing my mom for two weeks, but I told her to call me if anything is the matter. Thanks so much guys :D
