I have an idea on how the past/present thing may work

Seeing how Nomura said that KH3 may take place in the past but future(which is present when we start playing it) at the same time. I was thinking they may do something similar to FFVIII. You, Sora, are playing but then randomly(or not) are in control of another character.(Something to the extent of the Squall/Laguna thing).

In FF8 there's a normal plot but suddenly, the characters get a weird sorta dream, in which you play as another character. These dreams are like events in the past.

I doubt Nomura would copy FFVIII though. Maybe he'd make something similar though.
