KH3 for the PS3?

Most likely. It's a way for the game company to make more money by people wanting the PS3 just for one of their favorite games. Like X-box 360 is to Halo 3.

Yeah, heh, Halo was the only good exclusive game for xbox when it came out. I wouldn't be surprised if it came out for PS3. I think, if you want a garuntee that you'll get KH3 for your system then get a PS3 :/....that's just how it is, Square-Enix man, they've been exclusive to Playstation/Sony for years now, I wouldn't expect them to change in this case. Just don't kill anyone because of it Itachisheartless :D (lolz).

Well, Jade Rhade, I think it was announced for the Wii for sure.

Though I am sure a version will be released on a diff. console too.

If they do, that is a terrible idea. They will lose sooooo much money if they do that. I'm pretty sure no one is dumb enough to by a $600 game system for one game. Then again, since they haven't started working on the game yet, by the time it comes out, the ps3 may not be that much.

I really don't why people say this. Did people buy the 360 for one game? The Wii? No. So why would the PS3 be any different?

Well, Jade Rhade, I think it was announced for the Wii for sure.
Square hasn't confirmed what system KH3 will be on. But more then likely it'll be on PS3. The Wii just doesn't have the power to kept up with the PS3 or 360(not only graphically, but other things like physics, AI, etc. Besides if KH3 was released on the Wii, it'll feel like a gimped mini-game.

The official statement was that Square-Enix at this point has *not* decided which next-gen console will take over the Kingdom Hearts franchise.

What this *does* mean, is that KH3 will most likely not see a PS2 release. This isn't a surprise since it may take them another four years to complete--and four years in gaming hardware is a lifetime, so by that time the price of the PS3 may go down (even if just by a little).

Frankly, it's not a surprising thing to imagine KH3 will be on PS3. The PS2, quite frankly, is dead in terms of its technology. Many game reviews for end-console titles like Rogue Galaxy, FFXII--even KH2!--have mentioned how the graphics 'show the age of the PS2'. The era of the PS2 is already at its zenith--it's a very unlikely and illogical choice to release KH3 on the PS2.

The truth is that people do. Many people have invested in a Nintendo Wii *just* for the anticipated Super Smash Bros. Brawl. As well, many polls and surveys have confirmed that people have bought PS3s in anticipation for the Fabula Nova Crystallis.

It's not so much that people buy a console for 'one' game. In actuality, finding that 'one' game is the most important aspect for many people to consider when choosing to buy a console. This is because of the expectation that there will be many more to come in the future. Purchasing the next-gen consoles is never about "I'm going to buy it for this game and never touch the console again". That 'one' game is the incentive to invest and anticipate future title interests.

That's very true, ロクサス... thanks for your insight! I guess yeah, it will make sense by the time that KH3 is released... Final Mix+ however, is definately for the PS2, correct?

Yeah, Final Mix+ is for the PS2--slated for March 29 in Japan.

Considering that KH3 isn't coming out in a few years I'd say the chanses are pretty big it will be for the PS3. The PS2 is getting old, and there probably won't be much new games for it after the PS3 comes out.

Oh, yes. Very true. The Playstation 2 is a very powerful system.
But it is slowly dying. Succumbing to its newer, faster, shinier, and younger brother, the Playstation 3. It will be long forgotten in a matter of years. I'd give it about - two. That's all I have to say about that.
