"Oh, don't lie to yourself, dear," Van Helsing sighed. "I guess I'll just have to wait until you can't stand it anymore."

"Alright," Edward sighed, sitting back away from her. "Whatever makes you feel better."

And that's why everyone loves me! Lestat chuckled.

John sighed. You're ego could fill all of Transylvania.

"It's alright," Edward replied a moment later. "I've got some anger issues as well... but only at certain times."

Oh, not just Transylvania, Lestat corrected. The whole world, trust me.

BIC: Hannah looked back at her hands in her lap. "Your reason is more justified than mine."

John nodded in agreement. It's a wonder how you get any girls with that ego.

"Either way," Edward said. "I don't mind if you don't feel well, even if you take it out on me sometimes... there are worse things you could do."

Lestat winked at John. Of the hundreds of years I've lived, I've been with thousands of mortal women... and men, trust me. There's only been one that's ever made me happy... or, at least as close to happy as I could ever get.

"Will do." Hannah corrected quietly.

She's dead? John asked.

"My lord," Aleera purred as she approached Dracula. "Something has happened to Hannah...."

"I'll help you," Edward replied quickly. "Whatever I can do, I will, trust me. We'll think of something."

[Lestat_de_Lioncourt_Lives]

Well, she's be 'undead' for over five thousand years... and she's still that way to this day, Lestat explained.

Hannah squeezed her eyes shut. "No, Edward." She pursed her lips. "I... I don't know what I'll be like... I don't want to hurt you...."

Then why aren't you with her? John asked.

"Is it something I should be concerned about?" Dracula hissed, turning to face his one remaining bride. "Did she sleep with that werewolf or something?"

"Oh, please don't start," Edward said, trying to smile. "I'll talk to Lestat. He'll know someting to do."

[Lestat_de_Lioncourt_Lives]

That's a conversation for another time, Lestat said politely. Not something I'd like to talk about at the moment... later, though, I'm sure I can.

BIC: "Lestat?" Hannah opened her eyes and looked at Edward. "Lestat? Why does it always come back to him?"

That's fine. John replied. There are more pressing issues.

"No, My Lord," Aleera cringed and took a step back. "She's bitten a werewolf."

OOC: so now dracula's dirty too! :D yay!

BIC: "I'm glad you think so. Stupid deal." Jinx smiled even though she was trying to look annoyed.

"Oh, you don't mind, dear, and you know it," Van Helsing sighed. "You don't have to be embarrassed, you know; it doesn't help anyone."

Dracula cocked his head to the side for a moment, the expression on his face unreadable, maybe slightly curious as he brushed a small lock of hair off his cheek. "She bit one?" he repeated with a tiny smile now. "The stupid mutt didn't attack her?"

"Because I don't know anything, alright?" Edward sighed, a little fustrated. "Because I don't know how to help you, or help myself; I have no knowledge whatsoever, only strength and will. That won't get me very far unless I know what I'm doing, understand? I need Lestat, and he's helping me, for whatever reason that may be. That's why it comes back to him so often."

Like what? Lestat inquired, still lost in his own memories.

[Princess_of_hearts]

"I know, it just makes me feel like I'm being slightly independent." Jinx shrugged, "You're right, I don't mind...." she sighed.

"Well, you better be careful the next time we stop, then," Van Helsing teased, elbowing her side.

[Princess_of_hearts]

"If you were smart you wouldn't warn me." Jinx laughed, "I know you don't think it's funny, but I am still faster than you."

[Garxena]

OOC: i ish watching teevee XD

BIC: Hannah was silent for a moment. "Yeah. Okay. That's fine. Just do what you need to." She stumbled over her words and then fidgited with her cloak, too many emotions playing with her head at the same time.

Like whether or not Hannah will even survive the change. John answered.

"It was going for one of her group." Aleera explained. "She defended the girl. I assume Hannah had not fed for a while and her premature instincts could not tell that the man she attacked was a werewolf. She bit him twice."

"My mistake," Van Helsing smiled. "When you least expect it, then."

"I see," Dracula hissed. "That's going to be a problem. What do you suggest?"

"Oh, what's the matter?" Edward asked softly. "I'm sorry if I said anything wrong... I'm just as confused as you."

[Lestat_de_Lioncourt_Lives]

I think she'll live, Lestat shrugged. I can make sure of that.

"Good luck with that." Jinx replied earnestly. "I don't think you can catch me off gaurd though."

[Garxena]

"I don't want to talk about it." Hannah said, her voice shaking. Her thoughts lay on her parents as she wrapped her cloak around herself.

How? John questioned. It's her body. If it's not strong enough... He shook his head. There's nothing any of us can do. As much as I wish there was...

"If she survives the change," Aleera started carefully. "She'll be the most dangerous of that group. She needs to be eliminated, My Lord."

[mrsbaggins]

"Im at a loss, then," Van Helsing sighed, though his smiled was still in place. "Looks like it's up to you, since my human instincts aren't as fast as yours."

"You shouldn't dwell on your parents, Hannah," Edward said seriously. "Try to think of something else. What can I do to distract you, to make it better? I want to help."

[Lestat_de_Lioncourt_Lives]

Once again, you seriously underestimate me and my strength... what's in my blood... Lestat faded off for a moment, and then began again: You know how it feels to not drink for a long time, how awful that can be?

[Princess_of_hearts]

"Aw, sucks for you. I might not ever do anything... or I might scare the hell out of you." Jinx shrugged.

[Garxena]

"Don't talk about them." Hannah snapped, angry tears in her eyes. "It's my fault they're dead! Because I couldn't control myself. I was a monster then, Edward, and now this?! Who will I kill next? Beatrice? Jinx? Van Helsing? You...?" She lowered her head, her tears softly dropping on her lap. "I can't do this." She said each word slowly. "I can't let myself become more of a monster. Don't you understand, Edward?"

Yes. John replied simply, not wanting to get into details.

"Well, I can only wait so long," Van Helsing muttered under his breath. "And you as well."

Dracula frowned, looking away from Aleera. "I think not," he said softly. "That isn't an option... at the moment."

"Oh, hush," Edward sighed, reaching over and wrapping his arms around her even as she shrunk away. He leaned back onto the carriage bench, pulling her tightly against his chest, his free hand picking up the blanket off the floor and draping it over her. "Of course I understand," he said now, his voice softened as he spoke into her hair. "We'll figure it out, and I promise you now I won't do anything you don't agree with. Does that help at all?"

[Princess_of_hearts]

"Like I said, I might just scare the hell out of you. You'll have to wait and see." Jinx elbowed him in the ribs, back.

[Lestat_de_Lioncourt_Lives]

Imagine the opposite then, Lestat murmured. Imagine, after weeks, maybe even months of not drinking anything... having dozens of mortals around you, ready and willing to die; that feeling of fresh, live, warm blood in your mouth and your veins: being alive again. That is something I'm sure you have no problem imagining. Now, here's what you must try to comprehend: that feeling ten times more powerful... always. When you're full of another's life, another's blood, a moment after you've taken every drop from their body... that's when you're most powerful. You can jump hundreds of feet, throw people miles, run, fly, live forever, John! That is how I always feel. I have the mother of all vampires blood in my body, the Queen of the Damned alive inside me... and you think a little lycan is going to combat against my power? Ridiculous, John! You must have enough intelligence in your to comprehend your folly.

"Fair enough," Van Helsing smirked, rubbing his side. "Definitely fair enough..."

[Princess_of_hearts]

"So you think now." Jinx looked up at the sky innocently, "So, Carl said he knows where we have to go in Transliviana, do you think this is the last leg of the journey?"

[Garxena]

Hannah nodded once, still trying to shake the memories of her parents from her head. Her mtoher's scream echoed in her head and she cringed closer to Edward. She shivered, despite the blanket, though it had nothing to do with the cold that no longer bothered her body.

I wouldn't call her a 'little lycan' on her first moon. John said dryly. You overestimate yourself. Unless YOU'RE a lycan, which I doubt, I don't see how you'll be able to do anything. Blood of the Queen of the Damned or none.

"But, My Lord," Aleera protested. "She poses a danger! She could kill our children! Marishka and Verona are dead because of her. You cannot truely still be thinking of taking her for a bride."

[mrsbaggins]

"If it were just Dracula we were worried about, yes," Van Helsing replied soberly, his smile fading. "But we seem to have accumulated many other problems as well, so... no, not near close to the end."

Dracula shrugged lightly. "I would like to see what happens, my dear," he replied to the wall opposite him, still not looking at Aleera. "That is what matters right now."

[Princess_of_hearts]

"No I mean litereally, is this the last night we have to travel to get to Transillvania?" Jinx clarrified.

[rusty_rocks]

"It's alright," Edward tried to soothe. "Tell me something else to talk about... something to take your mind off it."

[Lestat_de_Lioncourt_Lives]

Lestat stopped moving abruptly, sticking out his arm gracefully to slam John to a halt next to him. "You'd do best not to insult or underestimate Akasha in front of me," he hissed, taking hold of the front of John's shirt and drawing his face close to his own. "I've no problem with killing you right now, and... well..." he faded off, chuckling under his breath. "You know I could."

[Garxena]

Hannah moaned and shook her head again. "I don't want to forget about it. It's how I keep myself in line... most of the time." She paused. "If I ever find Elijah... I want to keep him, really I do, but I don't know if I'd be able to."

But you'd be killing Hannah as well. John reminded Lestat, too uncomfortable to speak. I know you wouldn't do that to your new entertainment. Edward.

"You are willing to risk everything just to see what happens?" Aleera screached.

[mrsbaggins]

"Oh," Van Helsing laughed. "Yes. We'll be in Transylvania tomorrow morning, and we'll find somewhere safe to stay then. That can't be far away... a few hours, at least."

Dracula wheeled on the spot, grabbing Aleera by the throat and pulling her three feet off the ground. "Do not shout at me, my dear," he hissed, his eyes growing blacker by the moment. "I can fix Hannah well enough, trust me, and then have no further use for you, so... please try to show some respect."

"I didn't mean forget completely," Edward tried to explain. "I meant to calm you down, so you can rest."

[Princess_of_hearts]

"Oh good." Jinx nodded, "How's your hand? It won't stop you from shooting well right? Because I can still smell blood pretty strong but that might just be because your right next to me and i'm thirsty."

[Lestat_de_Lioncourt_Lives]

Lestat laughed, tightening his grip on John's shirt, enjoying the look on the vampire's face. "You're forgetting what I know... things I can fix. I have it all planned, trust me. This isn't the hardest predicament I've been in."

[Garxena]

"I don't want to rest." Hannah grumbled. "I don't want to miss anything."

Beatrice kept the reigns in one hand, her other hand covering her mouth and nose in an effort to filter the scent as she breathed.

John was silent for a moment, too shocked to reply. Well then, I guess I'll have to keep my plans open then.

Aleera's frightened sobs echoed in the empty chamber. "Forgive me, My Lord." She choked out.

[mrsbaggins]

"It's fine," Van Helsing explained, though he pushed his hand under his thigh to try and hide the smell. "It will heal in a day or two... and I can shoot well enough, don't worry. I'm sorry it bothers you... more sorry for Beatrice, even though I think I should just let her be right now."

Dracula sighed, dropping Aleera unsteadily to her feet and stepping away from her once again. "Let me be," he hissed quietly. "Go on your way."

Edward smiled, tucking his hand under her chin to titl her face up toward his. "I know," he whispered. "But we have at least an hour till the sun comes up and we have to stop again. Rest... I like listening to your dreams. And don't worry about any nightmares; I'll make sure that doesn't happen anymore." He leaned closer to her, wrapping his fingers in her hair and kissing her softly. "Sleep."

"Yes," Lestat snapped silkily, shoving John away from him. "That would be best for us all, I think."

[Princess_of_hearts]

"Yes... I know it's driving her crazy, she'll probably need to go hunting a bit more often until it heals." Jinx agreed. "But at least it's not too bad, and you wrapped it up." she sighed. "You aren't very good at fighting trees."

Hannah's lips curved up in a smile. "Okay." She sighed happily, curling against Edward. She closed her eyes, and her exhaustion quickly put her to sleep.

Beatrice felt the same lightheadedness return when she removed her hand from her mouth and nose. She felt as though something was pulling her towards the blood while another was pushing against it. I really hope we stop soon.

John smoothed his shirt. "It depends on how I change them." He muttered.

Aleera quickly did as she was told, not looking at Dracula again as she left.

Van Helsing snorted, shaking his head. "You're so very kind to me," he muttered.

Edward kissed the top of Hannah's head, shifting her curled weight on top of him, glad she was resting. Lestat, he whispered in his mind. What do I need to do to keep her safe? Please tell me.

"True," Lestat muttered in agreement. "I'm sure you don't have that many intricata plans."

[Garxena]

"You'd be surprised what I can keep hidden from others." John spat.

[Lestat_de_Lioncourt_Lives]

Lestat chuckled. That's why I like you, John... very enigmatic, aren't you?

[Princess_of_hearts]

BIC: "I pratice." Jinx said confidently, "I'm Getting better at it, don't you think?"

"Getting better," Van Helsing agreed. "Just have to work on other departments now..."

BIC: Hannah squirmed against Edward, her lips trembling in the softest moan.

John inclined his head in small thanks. "We shouldn't let the carriages get too far ahead of us." He reminded Lestat. "The sun will be a problem soon."

"I am a good reason to change, I wonder?" Van Helsing said softly, not looking at her.

OOC: okay, i got up at 5:45 today, ms. angelyn! i win the earlyness now!! :D

What's the matter? Edward asked in Hannah's head, hoping she was still asleep and could hear him. Everything alright?

True, Lestat replied. That is something I may never be able to conquer, even if, soon, I won't have to drink blood anymore... the sun will always be there.

He swallowed telling the truth, not minding the spoken lie at all. The sun and I both know about each other, he thought to himself, even though he tried not to think about it. We were very... close, at one point...

[Garxena]

Hannah's eyes snapped open. She stared unseeingly for a moment, and then looked up at Edward. "N-nightmare." She laughed humorlessly and lowered her eyes.

Regretfully. John agreed. Though I'm sure Hannah will be happy to find that it will not affect her so severely anymore.

[Princess_of_hearts]

BIC: Jinx looked at him, thinking for a few moments, "I think so..." she finally answered, looking down at her hands which were clasped hard together.

"Nothing." Hannah said quickly.

John didn't look at Lestat again as they followed the carriages, keeping to his thoughts and refining his plans.

"Sorry," Van Helsing replied quickly. "The last thing I meant was to upset you."

"Alright," Edward said, both aloud to Hannah and in his head to Lestat. "Don't talk if you don't want to."

Jinx nodded. "Sorry, I don't mean to be upset." she sighed. "I'm still in the process of changing, right?" she smiled slightly, avoiding his eyes.

I need to confirm some things, Lestat muttered at Edward.

His thoughts wandered as well. He thought of trying to contact Louis, but then stopped himself, as he always did, when that paticular idea came to mind. Let him be, he told himself firmly. Let him mourn his 'passion with the golden hair' and speak to me when he wishes...

"You know I don't like talking about my parents." Hannah mumbled.

"That's okay," Edward said, trying to smile at her. "That's all you had to say... we can talk about something else. We're almost there."

"Not your fault," Van Helsing said, smiling. "Hey," he added to Edward, raising his voice. "We're here now! Take a look! Just as sad as your girlfriend's little town!"

Jinx rolled her eyes, "And you think I'm mean." she muttered. "So we're stopping off here?"

"I guess..." Van Helsing sighed. "I don't really want to, but the next town is days from here. There's an inn at the west end, stables at the east... I... maybe you should tell Beatrice to just follow me."

"Thanks a lot," Edward snapped at Van Helsing. "Hannah," he began, looking down at her. "I have to do something once we've found a room at the inn here."

[Lestat_de_Lioncourt_Lives]

Lestat smiled, remembering the wonderful, opening line to his book he wrote: I'm the vampire Lestat. Remember me? The vampire who became a super rock star, the one who wrote the autobiography? The one with the blond hair and the grey, and the insatiable desire for visibility and fame? You remember..."

Hannah tilted her head to look up at Edward. "What kind of thing? How long will you be gone?"

Beatrice focused more on Van Helsing when he said her name. I have to be alone with him??

"I need to speak with Lestat," Edward explained. "About... about John. It won't be long, trust me."

OOC: :starwars: haha! i love how transilvania was a few hours away and now the next town is days away! XD yay for messing with physics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BIC: "Okay. I'll get the rooms and then we can go hunting." she looked around the town to get the lay out in her head.

"You're a perfect devil, Lestat!" That's what you are! You are the devil himself!" Louis had told him once...

"Yes, I know," Lestat had replied, high on blood, power, and being around his remaining child... venturing to New Orleans once more, visiting their old home, mourning little Claudia... it all sent a delightful, almost painful rush to his brain!

"And I love to hear you say it, Louis!" he had replied. "I need to hear you say it. I don't think anyone will ever say it quite like you do. Come on, say it again. I'm a perfect devil. Tell me how bad I am. It makes me feel so good!"

BIC: "Alright," Van Helsing replied as they pulled up to the stables. He looked around and was glad he saw no one around.

BIC: Jinx jumped down from her seat and walked over to the carrige Carl was in, knocking on the door. "Hey, we're stopping for a bit." she called.

Carl looked up from his papers, grinning at what he thought he'd figured out. "Okay." he called back putting all the papers back into his bag and getting out. "Oh... nice town?" he commented, looking around.

Jinx shrugged. "Yeah, but hey, it's got a good enough inn looks like. We're going to put the horses in the stables, I'll get the rooms, and then we're set for now."

Carl nodded and joined Van Helsing putting away the horses. "Enjoy you're ride?" he asked, smiling, "I think I have some things figured out for how to get to Dracula, by the way." he added.

BIC: "Yes," Van Helsing sighed, stepping over to take Lexi and Sorin out of their tack and away from the carriage.

"I'll be back soon, I promise," Edward said when she was silent, sitting up and gently pulling away from her. "Just make sure you stay out of trouble till I can come back, alright?" He kissed her briefly before jumping out of the carriage and was about to run into the trees when he saw Van Helsing glaring at him.

BIC:Carl nodded, "Uh huh, that's good." he helped to lead the horses into neighboring stables.

Jinx helped Beatrice with Choco and Saphire (i hope those are the names XD). "Are you doing alright?" she asked, softly.

Let him be, Lestat cautioned Edward before stopping himself in the shadow of the nearest tree.

"Well, I'm off to find something... young, I think, to drink," Lestat smirked at John. "Enjoy your... evening."

He stepped off into the trees, still lost in his own nostalgic thoughts.

BIC: "Going somewhere?" Van Helsing growled at Edward. "Oh, I shouldn't even ask where; you won't tell us."

"If you want to know," Edward snapped, stepping up to Van Helsing, purposefully letting a growl escape between his lips. The sound was low, menacing, and full of anger. "I'm off to speak with Lestat. I'll see you later."

He turned on his heel, stalking into the trees. Where are you? he sent to the vamprie, swallowing his unneeded anger.

[Garxena]

"Yes, I'm feeling a little better now the smell is almost gone," Beatrice answered. "I think resting would be a good idea, though..."

BIC: Carl sighed, "Well, that's a change, at least he answered this time, right?" he tried.

"That's probably a good idea." Jinx agreed, smiling. "I'm going hunting after everything is set up here, coming too or do you want to just rest?"

BIC: Van Helsing swore under his breath, turning to Jinx and Beatrice. "Lestat?" he repeated. "That's far enough; when he gets back, I'm making him tell us what he's hiding."

"Here," Lestat chuckled, pulling himself out of a shadow next to Edward. "Now, talk."

"Talk?" Edward repeated, swallowing and stepping away from the vampire slightly; speaking to him in his mind was one thing, but seeing him was much more... intense, to sat the least. "About what?"

"I..." Edward began. "It's just hard to think about," he began, not afraid to meet Lestat's shocking, amazing, bright blue eyes. "I think I can do it now, but, at the moment, I don't know..." He faded off, running a hand through his hair with a nervous grin.

Lestat smiled at Edward, his teeth pointed, shining. “Losing our nerve, are we?” he chuckled under his breath. “What more do I have to tell you?”

“There’s no guarantee I’ll live,” Edward muttered, trying to hide his worry.

“Take my word,” Lestat shrugged, though his eyes were a deadening shade of black, solid, serious. “I wouldn’t tell you unless I thought you would live. You’re strong enough to take it all into your system. Hell, I didn’t even think of it before, but my own venom in your body will help!”

Edward shook his head. “I’m sorry,” he sighed. “It’s just against my nature to do this; God, it sounds like it will kill us all! And who’s to say John won’t get up and-”

“That’s why I’m here!” Lestat exclaimed suddenly, patting Edward’s back. The werewolf could feel his back crack under the pressure. “I can handle John after you’ve done what you need to. Do not worry about that.”

"I know it's not exactly your strong suit, but maybe if you're going to 'make' him tell us... you could try and do it gently. I think Edward's sort of on the edge of alot right now." Carl said, gently.

Jinx turned to face them and nodded, agreeing with Carl, "We don't need a fight."

BIC: “Lestat…” Edward began slowly. “Hannah thinks I shouldn’t trust you like I do.”

Lestat laughed softly, walking away from the other man. “Does she?” he said over his shoulder, beckoning Edward to follow with a wave of his hand. “That worries you.”

It was a statement, not a question, so Edward merely nodded in agreement.

“I’m afraid there’s not much I can do about that,” Lestat said after a moment.

“I know,” Edward sighed. “I wish there was something I could say that could ease her mind, make it easier for her.”

“I could speak to her,” Lestat suggested. “But that wouldn’t help either of us.”

“Why is that?” Edward asked.

“For the same reason you cannot tell her what you have to do,” Lestat explained patiently. “John can access her mind too easily; if you tell her something important-”

“- he can extract it easily,” Edward finished.

“What reason have you given her not saying anything yet?” Lestat inquired politely.

“You said so,” Edward laughed. “I couldn’t say that John would be able to… she would get very upset.”

Lestat chuckled again, the handsome, caramel-colored sound filling the air and rebounding off the buildings. “It’s hard for you, Edward,” the vampire started now. “I understand.”

Edward nodded stiffly, staring ahead of them lost in thought.

“Careful how detailed you think of her,” Lestat cautioned with a grin. “I can see all that.”

Edward only frowned. “I don’t care,” he shrugged. “You can see whatever you’d like; maybe you’ll realize how much I love her.”

“Oh, I already do,” Lestat replied seriously. “Why do you think I’m here? To tell you the truth, I’m secretly quite the romantic.”

“I couldn’t imagine, what with your past you won’t talk about,” Edward replied.

“I don’t mind talking about certain things,” Lestat began honestly. “Ask, if you’re so curious, my friend.”

“You spoke of your children once to John,” Edward said after a moment. “Other you had made in the past.”

Lestat nodded briefly, neither his stride nor his expression changing.

“Tell me about them,” Edward asked.

“I never made one before Louis,” Lestat said softly, and Edward almost had to lean closer to hear his words. “I met him one day in the French colony of New Orleans, across the sea… and I fell in love with his nature immediately. He had felt his life wasn’t worth living, all the sorrow he had suffered; such a sad, beautiful, suicidal being. I gave him the Dark Gift because I felt he needed it, deserved it. But he was in love with his mortal nature; he hated killing, just like your Hannah. I tried so hard to show him it was a gift, that we killed indiscriminately, just like the God he believed in. We were happy, though, for a time. Then, I realized something.”

“What’s that?” Edward asked after a moment, when Lestat paused and hung his head just slightly.

“He needed more than me,” Lestat hissed, his whisper more emotional now. “So I got him what he needed; a beloved, someone else to love besides… besides myself. Little Claudia… she was so sweet, innocent, almost as beautiful as my Louis. Louis hated me for turning her, though; she was only eight or so.”

“Eight?” Edward exclaimed. “A child, Lestat?”

“Yes,” the vampire snapped, his voice almost rising out a whisper. “I realize now that she should never have been like Louis and I. But, at the time, I didn’t have a choice; Louis would have left me if she hadn’t come along, and then where would I be? Probably still buried under a house, rotting away until death finally found me. Claudia died, Edward. A coven in Paris tried to murder her and Louis for killing me.”

“You’re…” Edward began slowly, amazed at the story. “But you’re here! Alive!”

“Not alive,” Lestat corrected. “Close enough... Their leader even knew I lived… and did nothing. He saved Louis… Claudia burned. I’ve seen Louis since.”

“He’s…. still here?”

Lestat nodded slowly. “After it all, he still will speak with me,” Lestat smiled, shaking his head. “Even though ‘all his passion went with the golden hair...’ I changed your friend Beatrice merely because she asked to be of more help to your group… and, as a mortal, she could never do that. I was just the tool there; she will have a free, long life without my interference. Louis and Claudia were my children, and I love them more than anything. So, my friend… I understand what love is, maybe in a different circumstance, but I still can comprehend it. You and Hannah deserve to be together, and if I can help, I will.”

"Yes, I know," Lestat had replied, high on blood, power, and being around his remaining child. "And I love to hear you say it, Louis. I need to hear you say it. "I guess it would be best if I went with you." Beatrice answered.

Hannah sat still in the carriage, holding her cloak and the blanket close to her even though she wasn't cold. He couldn't have let me come along? He can't even tell me anything. How am I supposed to trust Lestat when Edward won't tell me what's going on.

"True," Edward replied, smiling. "What will you do, though?" he added, looking at the man next to him. "When the time comes?"

Hannah laid down across the bench seat, curling her legs to fit more comfortably. She adjusted the blanket and closed her eyes, deciding she may as well try to sleep through the day, and possibly escape her unending headache.

Beatrice followed Jinx and Carl silently, distracting herself from Carl's smell by worrying about Hannah.

Jinx remembered as they walked through the door to cast a human glamour over herself and Beatrice. She walked up to the desk and gave the attendent a smile. "Are there two rooms open?" she asked. The woman looked at the small group and nodded. After she payed and got the keys, she handed them to Carl. "All set, right?"

Carl took the keys, "Yep, looks like it. So, you two will go out for awhile right?" he asked, looking at both of them. "Be careful." he muttered, avoiding Beatrice's eyes.

Jinx smothered a grin and nodded.

Edward nodded, and, on what instinct or impulse he did not know, extended his hand toward Lestat. "See you when the sun goes down again, I assume?" he asked.

Lestat grinned, clasping Edward's hand strongly and brieftly. "Yes," he muttered before stepping off into the shadows.

"Go out with the sun up?" Van Helsing asked quietly, taking one of the room keys from Carl. "That's not the best idea... is it? I mean, the full moon is tomorrow night, according to the last calendar I looked at... not that that effects you, it's just... why do you think Hannah's still in the carriage?"

Jinx frowned. "Oh, right.... I forgot about the moon. And that hunter..." she sighed. "You're right..."

Carl glanced at a window towards the carriges. "Shouldn't we get her?" he asked.

Beatrice shook her head. "I think Hannah wants to be alone. She hasn't been to sociable since... you know."

Edward sighed, walking alone along the trees, back toward the stables, hoping everyone had left already. Let the hunter be, Lestat had said. I don't know if I can... no doubt he'll start a fight.

Carl followed them up with Beatrice. "Are you okay?" he asked her.

"I should be okay now," Beatrice said, turning to Carl and risking giving him a smile. "It's getting better..."

"I don't know..." Jinx paused on the steps. "No, probably not. I know she'll be angry at us for bothering her but... but she'll be safer with us, wouldn't she?" she asked, uncertainly

"Let Edward get her," Van Helsing suggested, trying to keep the contempt out of his voice. He opened the room door with the key when the reached it and stepped inside. "That would be best."

Edward reached the stables and leaned against Carl's carriage. I can do this, he thought desperately, trying to convince himself. "I can do this," he said aloud now.

Beatrice nodded at Jinx, having to put all her concentration on looking away from Carl. She turned her attention to Van Helsing. "Are you sure? What if that hunter followed us? All it would take for him would be to pull Hannah out of the carriage."

"It's fine, I promise you." John's words flowed easily, convincingly.

"They're my parents." Hannah objected.

Hannah nodded slowly, lost in John's eyes. "I do. Completely."

"Good," John smiled. "Now," He turned Hannah back towards the house. "Have fun."

"Dammit," Edward snapped, jumping when he heard Hannah's thoughts in the other carriage. He considered going over to wake her, but thought better; she always gets so angry... I guess letting her be would be best...

He turned and headed toward the inn Van Helsing pointed to earlier, not in the mood to talk or fight.

Carl smiled back but then looked at Van helsing seriously. "She's not in a good state to be left alone. Let's just get her and make sure she's safe. Easy."

Jinx agreed, "It'll only take a second. We'll be right back."

Jinx breathed out through her nose, annoyed. "That hunter has done enough damage to her, we don't know where Edward is now, and it takes two seconds." she replied, briskly.

Carl sighed, "Let's just get her quickly. If you don't want to seperate us, then we can go together... geeze."

"Fine," Van Helsing snapped. "Go if you must, but I'm not running after her and Edward if that's what you three wish to do. I'll just question some locals or something... that will help in the meantime."

Edward reached the inn and entered, going over to the girl at the front bar and giving her a small smile.

"Can you tell me something, my dear?" he asked, almost wearily. She blushed and nodded. "Did you see a group come in here recently, with one tall, ugly guy in a black hat?"

She nodded once more. "Which room?" he asked softly. The girl muttered something like, "Second floor, door 119" and Edward thanked her, turning toward the stairs.

Stupid, all of them, he sighed to himself, and almost thought he heard Lestat chuckle in his head.

"What, you two aren't going with her?" Van Helsing sighed, ignoring Carl's comment. "You all just make me crazy sometimes..."

Jinx grit her teeth to see that Edward had gone in without Hannah with him. Yeah, he'll get her. Bull sh*t. she thought, shaking her head. Those two need to chill out before they get one of us killed. she reached the carrige and knocked softly. "Hannah, I know you don't want to be with all of us right now but you need to at least come inside with us. Edward is up stairs and it's safer. Okay?" she didn't hear an answer and opened up the door to see Hannah curled up tightly on the seat, looking upset. She sighed and gently picked the girl up, being careful not to wake her. Stupid men... Edward have gotten her.

Carl shook his head. "Like she said, it'll only take a second." he looked around at the door, seeing Edward coming upstairs.

Jinx carried Hannah up to the room, careful to avoid people. She pushed past Edward, giving him a hard look, to get into the room and layed Hannah down on the farther of the two beds in the room.

Hannah sat up instantly and looked around until she met Jinx's eyes. She shook off her nightmare and asked, "Jinx, can we talk? Alone...?"

Alone? Beatrice thought, surprised. But she never wants to talk to Jinx. She told me she didn't like the idea of spilling her guts to Jinx. Why would she want to talk to her ALONE now??

Jinx looked at her in surprise since Hannah hadn't even moved when she'd carried her all the way there. "Eh... okay. We can talk in the other room if you want." Why does she want to talk to me alone?

Hannah got up swiftly and took Jinx by the hand and out the door. "I was awake before you came to the carriage." She confessed in a low voice. "But I honestly didn't want to move. I want to ask you something... You've had a lot more experience than me... Did you ever... kill someone close to you?" She spoke lowly and quickly, too quickly for a human to catch any of her words.

Beatrice folded her arms. Hannah's acting a lot different.

"Let you be?" Van Helsing cried, slamming the door and turning to glare at Edward. "Why don't you solve this whole problem right now before Jinx and Carl get extrememly angry at me for yelling at you when you deserve it: tell us what the hell you've been doing behind our backs. Then there wouldn't be a problem."

Edward frowned, folding his arms across his chest. "I still have the same interest as you," he muttered stubbornly. "Why do you need to know every thought in my head?"

"Same interests, huh?" Van Helsing sighed. "I doubt it; you see, I dont want to get into Hannah's pants and mess around-"

Edward stepped forward swiftly and swung his fist at Van Helsing, catching the man just under his jaw. He kept his arm extended, his voice half a growl when he replied, "Enough. I don't really need to hear that right now, trust me."

Van Helsing tilted his head to the side, shifting his jaw till it cracked back into place. He grimaced, stepping back from Edward and pulling his gun out of its holster at his side. "Touch me again and you won't have to worry about a word I say anymore."

Edward stepped foward, swinging his arms out wide, exposing his bare chest. "That's not the smartest idea," he whispered. "I can have Lestat here in a minute."

Oh, you wish, Lestat chuckled in Edward's mind. Stop it, already. Once your girlfriend comes in here with her buddy and sees you two like this she'll not be happy. We need her on your side. Stop it!

Hannah grit her teeth and shook her head. "Never mind. It was stupid of me to ask. Just forget it. Besides, the boys are making so much noise I wouldn't be surprised if the whole town has heard them." She turned around and went back into the room. "What the hell are you two doing!?" She shouted at Van Helsing and Edward. Her head throbbed painfully and she gripped the doorway frame for support. "This is exactly what I meant when I said I didn't want to miss anything, Edward!"

"It's okay," Edward said calmly, lowering his arms but keeping his eyes on Van Helsing. "I was just about... about to tell our friend what I learned in Rome... clear some things up."

Van Helsing swore under his breath and put his gun away, giving Carl a look that said "Gentle works, right?" and sat on the nearest bed. "Well, talk... friend," he said aloud.

Good, Lestat murmured in Edward's head, his voice quiet instead of painful. But that's all you say, understand?

The wood of the doorway frame cracked underneath Hannah's hand. "It didn't look like that." She muttered. "Fine then. I'm interested as well."

"I told you already," Edward muttered at Hannah. "You want to know what I did that morning alone before we left? I found out the only way to kill Dracula."

"How the hell could you manage that?" Van Helsing snapped, amazed.

"I have my ways," Edward muttered, not really wanting to remember right now. "But the point is I know and I'm willing to tell you."

"Are you planning to use the information as leverage for my attention or something?" Van Helsing sighed.

"No," Edward replied, almost sweetly, turning his head and winking at Hannah. "Werewolf venom."

Van Helsing stopped mid-breath, his eyes widened. "You're..." he began slowly. "You're not lying, are you?"

"Why the hell would I lie about something that serious?" Edward snarled, trying to ignore the feeling that the moon was starting to give him... Calm, he told himself. Just stay calm... wait till tomorrow night...

"That's all you've been hiding?" Van Helsing asked after a moment. "All this time, if that's it, why has it taken you so long to share such a vital piece of information to the rest of us?"

"Yes, that's it," Edward lied smoothly, his face blank but sincere. "I guess I was just waiting for the right moment to speak to you about it, and, well... it never seemed to come."

"Then I apologize for telling at you, Edward," Van Helsing sighed. "This is something I've needed to know for years... well, Carl and I both. I'm sure that helps him tremendously, no?" He looked down at Carl, who had been silent so far.

Edward looked over at the man, too, but had to shut his eyes against another spasm that ran through his body. Dammit, tomorrow night, he kept repeating to himself in his head. Not now...

Hannah clenched her jaw. "You two are the weirdest of this group."

Hannah sighed. "Edward, will you walk with me? I want to go outside."

"That's it, love," Lestat soothed, biting back the small bits of pain with each draw Beatrice took. He'd only felt the same, indescribable feeling a few times before in all his years, and yet each time it felt new, as if it were the first. "Alright," he said now as Beatrice was able to sit on her own, her lips and her hands vice-gripped to his wrist. "Enough!" he said more sharply, pulling his wrist from her grasp swiftly. He whipped a handkerchief out of his vest pocket and wound it around his small cut, gasping for breath.

"Now," he said, hearing Van Helsing approaching. "You will live. Take care to enjoy the shadows and not the sun, my sweet; it's different now. And," he added, standing, "I will be near if you need anything from your father."

He saw Van Helsing then, running up the path toward him. "She's yours," Lestat announced with a loud, shrieking laugh, bowing, so amused with himself. He grinned, his chin, corners of his mouth, lips, and teeth all stained a nasty, sickening shade of red. Then he turned to the shadows and was gone.(pg 177)
Beatrice sat on one of the beds, carefully thinking over what Lestat had said to her that morning. Absentmindedly, she played with her waving, blond hair. Seems both of my 'fathers' aren't the best for me. But I do feel like I can trust Lestat more than my father. He... Well, I think he cares for me more than my real father.

BIC: Jinx had been listening to them talk but part of her thoughts had also been on what Hannah had asked her. "Hannah, before you go outside, can I talk to you?" she asked, before they left.

BIC: "Yeah... but how old are you now? 6, 7 months? It should get better soon." Jinx tried to be reassuring. "And honestly, the less you dwell on something the less your mind will remember it. That's why I don't remember many of the human... faces..." she trailed off.

BIC: Hannah cracked a grimace. "Yeah... well, thanks."

"Well..." Van Helsing sighed, trying to give Carl a nice smile. "What shall we talk about now? Carl must have something to share after all those hours alone in a carriage."

"We should get back to them before they blow each other's heads off." Hannah murmured.

Beatrice squeeked and then quickly covered her mouth, hoping Edward and Van Helsing hadn't heard.

"Maybe it would get it out of their systems?" Jinx suggested, smiling a little more normally. "But you're right, poor Beatrice shouldn't be there with those lunitics alone."

Carl shrugged at Edward. "I can always tell you later." he looked over at Beatrice, having heard her squeak. "Are you okay?"

"Everything okay?" Van Helsing asked, looking at Beatrice.

Edward stepped quietly out of the room, seeing Jinx and Hannah in the hall. "Are you two okay?" he asked.

Lestat laughed to himself, shutting his eyes flying comfortably up into the nearest tree.

"We're fine." Hannah smiled. "Though you and Van Helsing have some explaining to do."

Beatrice nodded. "Um, Van Helsing... am I... Am I a hindrince to this group? Honestly."

"Yep, hopefully without yelling too much." Jinx added with a smile before going back into the other room to leave Hannah and Edward to themselves.

"Honestly," Van Helsing said, trying to smile still. "I think you're here for a reason, just like everyone else here... you will be useful, I' sure... even if, so far... it's been hard..." He faded off, unsure what to say or how to finish.

"You're definetly not a hindrence." Carl followed up quickly. "You've been a lot of help."

"Ask whatever you like," Edward said, opening his arms as if to gesture he would answer honestly. "I don't mind."

Hannah kept her arms folded. "What the hell was Van Helsing doing with a gun pointed at you?"

Beatrice looked at Carl. "How?" She asked plainly.

"I made him angry," Edward shrugged. "I didn't mean to, though. It's the full moon bothering me without even being here yet... I tried to stay calm, but he, of course, had to pull a gun as soon as I offended him in the least bit."

OOC: Carl kept his face calm. "Well for one you've proven something that neither Van Helsing or me has ever seen by being competetly controlled for a newborn. I know you don't think that's very important, but actully that helps tremendously since that adds another side of the story to the information we have about vampires. Plus you've been taking care of the horses and being actully sane around here unlike the rest of us." he answered, "Just because you haven't had to fight doesn't mean you're not helping."

Jinx surpressed a smile. How sweet. she thought, looking between Beatrice and Carl.

[Garxena]

Hannah eyed Edward, and sighed. "Okay," She unfolded her arms.

Beatrice smiled, probably being more dazzling than she meant to be. "Thanks, Carl."

Van Helsing shrugged, not wanting to say anything to ruin Carl's little speach.

"Are you alright?" Edward. "I didn't mean to leave you in the carriage like that, but I had to speak with... with Lestat about something."

I'm sure you'll be useful, my dear, Lestat chuckled to Beatrice, unable to stop himself from laughing. Just wait till you learn what you can do with my blood in your veins...

Beatrice looked at Van Helsing. "How... How much do you actually know about vampires?" She tried to keep her voice steady, not used to hearing someone's voice without seeing them.

"If I didn't wake up screaming, then I'm fine." Hannah muttered. "Besides, I'm getting used to it." She tried not to think of Lestat, knowing it would only make her angrier.

"Enough to be able to get rid of a lot of powerful ones," Van Helsing answered. "Why do you ask?"

"I'm sorry," Edward began suddenly. "I'm sorry for not been able to tell you more. John could get into your mind and... then we'd all be at a loss. Do you understand?"

He knows nothing about me, Lestat muttered, almost to himself.

Hannah tilted her head and looked at Edward. "Is that it? I've kept secrets from him before." She paused. "Well," She lowered her eyes again. "Not for long. I understand... I really do trust you."

Beatrice shrugged as lightheartedly as she could. "Just wondering."

So that's it is it? John mused. Hannah, Hannah, Hannah, you are so naive.

Hannah smiled. "You could have just told me this in the first place."

Beatrice nodded, trying to be more enthusiastic. "I just don't think it's fair to go killing something you don't know enough about."

If you're inviting me for brunch, John began. I've filled myself for now.

"Ah, I see," Van Helsing nodded. "That makes sense."

"I thought you'd be upset," Edward murmured. "I guess I should have taken the chance earlier, huh?"

Alright, Lestat shrugged at John. I don't need blood anyway... just wondering what you were up to in this lovely morning...

"I like an explination better than silence." Hannah answered plainly. "Now, can we go for that walk?"

Beatrice looked at the floor. "I was kind of wondering about what the plan for Dracula is too."

Just keeping tabs on Hannah and Jake. John murmured. He really is pissed off at Hannah. Seeing as the full moon is next night, he'll probably make a reckless decision and get himself killed if he runs into Hannah.

"For those answers we talk to speak with Carl as well," Van Helsing replied. "He's the one with all the research... and you heard what Edward said..."

"Of course," Edward smiled, putting an arm around her shoulder. "Anywhere in particular?"

That would be interesting, Lestat thought. But do you want the hunter dead?

"Just outside. I hate being confined." Hannah bit her lip. "Not that I'm caged or anything, I just wish that I could walk through a crowd of people at high noon and have no problems."

"Right," Beatrice agreed. "It is interesting... I wouldn't have guessed it."

"Who could have?" Van Helsing mused. "I'm just figuring out how to do it..."

"Okay, let's go," Edward said, starting down the stairs. "Tomorrow night is going to be hard..." he started suddenly.

Hannah nodded. "A lycan's first moon and two werewolves. Sounds like fun." She said sarcasitcally. "Oh, and let's not forget the town full of innocent people."

"Well Edward could..." Beatrice started but faded off. "Hm...."

John grit his teeth. First, he intends to kill Hannah. Second, he's just as arrogant as any other mutt, which annoys the hell out of me. And third, he's killed serval vampires already. Some of which I knew. His mind is open to what he gives no thought. And he doesn't even notice the prying.

"I don't know," Van Helsing muttered. "It just doesn't seem right, to have Edward go in there and have to... and I don't think he has the... how do I put this? The past, or the strength, even, or the... experience with things like Dracula do just send him in there. There has to be a different way."

"It's going to be fine," Edward insisted, tightening his grip around her shoulders. "I need to ask Lestat if he has some solution... he has to know something we can do to help you."

Very good point, my friend, Lestat replied after a moment. I see where you're coming from... I'd help kill the mongrel, if you wish...

Hannah stiffened. "As long as I don't have to go near him."

"He doesn't have to go alone." Beatrice reminded Van Helsing. "We could go with him." Though when she said 'we' she meant everyone but herself; she was determinded not to get in anyone's way.

I'd like to see Hannah do it, if you don't mind. I can see how she's coming to a more defined descision. She won't hesitate the next time she sees that mutt. John said.

BIC: Jinx sat down on the arm of a chair, listening and thinking about how they could help Edward. Probably by first getting rid of Aleera, maybe...

"That's true." Carl agreed, "It's actully pretty easy to get into his castle, theroticly."

"Getting inside shouldn't be too hard," Van Helsing agreed, trying not to listen to Jinx's thoughts. "If we could just find the place..."

"If it means saving lives and keeping people out of danger and all that, you may have to go near him... he won't hurt you, if that's what you're worried about," Edward added.

That's a brilliant idea, Lestat agreed. I wouldn't mind seeing that...

Carl smirked, "Well, if I'm right, getting in is the same as finding it. I believe we need to find a Ms. Anna Valerious."

"Can she take us there or something?" Jinx asked, pulling out of her thoughts.

"Not exactly... if what I've been putting together is correct, her castle has a gate way of sorts, we just have to find it."

"I've heard of her," Van Helsing mused. "Her family name, anyway, once in a while when speaking witht the Order... if she's still alive and if I'm correct as well, her family has been trying to get rid of Dracula for a long time, too."
