Before you read this, just know that I have been a devout Catholic all my life.

It's clear that from the Bible that Jesus was not born in winter. The "3 Wise Men" as they are called, wouldn't have been out in their fields in December at night. The Palestinian winters are too cold, meaning that they can't go outside due to the below freezing temperatures.

The fact is that this holiday was so chaotic due to partying that it was outlawed by the Church until the early 1800s. This is an absolute fact.

Also, due to Jesus being born in the middle east, over 80% of the Arab people had African decent traced in them, therefor making Jesus Arab/African. So for all of you who are Catholic and Anti-Arabs, you're now hypocrites.

I wasn't aware of that. Regarding the St. Nick thing...Saint Nicholas was a real man who left candy in people's shoes by diving into the person's chimney. That's where they got stockings from. That's the truth.

not to mention he used Rudalph the reindeer and he puts little "elves" to work.

I think that's in referance to child-labor.

probly.....they should make Santa purple, cuz that is a cool color. But I didn't know that the holiday was outlawed due to overpartying. That's awesome!!

Im not a cathlic, but I can say that Ive never herd of them ever outlawing the holiday. And yes Jesus wasn't born in december. I cant recall If I have ever heard the exact date. Anyway, the question I have is how did saint nick's deeds turn into what today we call Santa Clause?

It's not Saint Nick, it's Saint Vasilis (Bill)

In the west Saint Nick has taken Saint Vasilis' place, making him Santa Claus, because he was too generous like Saint Vasilios. Believe it or not that's how it is.

During the American Revolution, General George Washington used Christmas as and excuse to attack the British.

Well, that's true. However, it's not that important as Jesus is.

Yeah, but it still has to do with Christmas.

In the North Pole, Christmas is actually a time honoured tradition celebrating Mr. and Mrs. Claus' successful enslavement of midgets. This festival is commenced every year by having them build toys and give them away, because slaves don't need toys.

This is racist.

No it's not. I'm sure there are plenty of minorities among the Santa's slaves.

I'm going to close this because this is an area for people celebrating holidays. It's not an area to bash religions or beliefs or debate.
