Version 2!


The very addictive and persistent role-play is back for its second version! P E A N U T, the original owner, has asked me to create the new thread 'cause the other one got locked after 6000+ posts. (Yeah, it went by pretty fast due to the endless posting between only a few members per day. xD)

If you were back in the original thread, you know the story: Organization XIII gave up on the evil acts and took jobs in the local Burger King. Sora and co. somehow inherited a McDonald's and work there as well. And by the McDonald's is a Wendy's, where Sora's friends from various worlds are employed. Between the 3 restaurants, there is a rivalry because McDonald's is growing and bringing in more customers faster than BK or Wendy's. All of the action takes place in the Big Apple, New York City.

However, things had gotten a lot more serious than anyone really imagined. The RP took a different turn, and we're continuing from where we left off.

I must warn you: because P E A N U T and I have the 4 main characters in the RP, and we're the most active out of the bunch that joined before, we post a lot. And I mean A LOT. We go 10 - 20 pages per day, people, and that includes time gaps. It will be hard to catch up, and we don't offer recaps. If you'd like to know what's going on, you'll have to go back to the original thread and read all 6000 or so posts, which could be 200+ or 500+ pages depending on how you set up the post limit in your options in your User CP. If you've read to this paragraph and this doesn't appeal to your liking, I suggest you click that back button before getting into a world of confusion when entering this thread.

-Try to keep cursing to a minimum. If you must, try to use **** or !@#$
-You can have 1 Character in each group
-Use proper grammar. We support good grammar in this thread. no txt tlk, kk??
-Post as often as you can, because it can get carried away (trust me). Inform us if you're leaving for a little while and that your character(s) will be inactive!
-Color code your characters. Use different colors for different characters.
-Subscribe to the thread so you know when somebody posts. Let's keep this thread alive!

Descriptions of each job (for those who don't already know):

*Boss- Is in charge of the whole place and everyone in it. Handles money and bosses other people around.
*Manager- The Boss’s eyes and ears when he can’t be around. They are often bossy and unreasonable, getting others to do all the work.
*Burger Boy- Makes Burgers. Works with cook(s)
*Cook- Makes Fries and other non-meat meals. Works side-by side with Burger Boy.
*Drive Through Window Person- Works at the Drive Through Window. Must be cheerful and good at taking orders.
*Ice Cream Machine Worker- Makes ice-cream/desert items.
*Happy Meal Assembly- Makes the happy meals. Plays with the happy meal toys in spare time (secretly of course)
*Cashier- Runs the registers up front. Deals with customers and takes orders and such.
*Bus Boy- Cleans tables and throws away trash.
*Janitor- Cleans floors, restrooms, and anything else that needs cleaning.
*Mascot- Greets customers. Is in a costume (Ronald McDonald, The King, or that Wendy girl). They get teased a lot by fellow workers.

Sora moved his leg under him again and put weight back on it, regaining some balance and taking a little pressure off of Kairi. Hearing her words, he shut his eyes and kept his head lightly on Kairi's shoulder as he silently nod.

"Okay," Kairi whispered quietly. She shifted her position, leaving one arm around Sora as she now stood beside him. She could support him better this way. She put a hand on his chest to support him a little better, her other arm around him tightly.

Sora felt relieved when Kairi came to his side to support his body. That was easier on his right side, which was hurting now almost as much as the room was spinning. He opened his eyes a crack and looked down at the floor as he focused on keeping his balance, one still around Kairi for support.

Kairi looked over her shoulder, relieved that he hadn't gone too far; the bed was only a foot or so behind them. So they only had to take a few steps back. "All right, take a step back slowly," she instructed, not wanting him to collapse like last time.

Sora nod, taking a glance backward. But everything started spinning again, so he quickly let his gaze fall down to the floor. He shut his eyes halfway and watched as he slowly moved his right foot backwards.

Kairi took the step back with him, flitting her eyes to him before glancing over her shoulder again. Only a few more. She turned her head to look at Sora. "Take another," she said softly.

[P E A N U T]

Sora sucked in a breath and looked down at his feet as he silently obeyed.

"Last one," she said after taking that step with him. She glanced over her shoulder, the bed less than a foot away.

Sora shut his eyes all the way and took one more step backwards, the dizzyness fading a little when he kept his eyes closed.

"Okay," Kairi said softly, starting to bend down a little so Sora could sit down on the bed.

[P E A N U T]

Sora opened his eyes a crack and looked at Kairi, and then at the bed behind them. He hadn't realised what she was doing until he saw it. He started lowering himself down, feeling sick to his stomach as he forced himself not to collapse.

When he was finally sitting, Kairi loosed her grip on Sora, but didn't completely let go.

Sora let out a breath and loosened his grip on Kairi, his half open eyes looking at the ground and then at her.

[Forever Love]

Kairi offered Sora a weak smile. "You okay?" she whispered quietly, not wanting to wake the other couple in the room.

[P E A N U T]

"Better now," Sora said softly, opening his eyes more and giving Kairi a weak smile.

[Forever Love]

Kairi nodded, her smile still on her face. "Good," she said quietly.

Sora smiled faintly and leaned his head against her shoulder, shutting his eyes as he took in a deep breath.

[Forever Love]

Kairi lowered her head and kissed his head of brown spikes. She pulled away from the gentle kiss and ran her fingers softly along his forehead, getting his hair out of his face while also trying to comfort him.

Sora smiled at the kiss, grateful for the gentle, caring touch.

Kairi let her hand leave his forehead and find her lap. She turned her gaze to the window, the pale moonlight shining through the glass.

Sora let out a quiet breath and opened his eyes a crack, gazing down at the floor and then at Kairi. He still had an arm around her, and if he didn't have his right arm in a cast, he would have reached over and grabbed her hand.

Keeping her eyes on the window, Kairi brought her hand to Sora's that was around her waist and let it rest on top of his gently. She closed her eyes and inhaled, relaxing a little.

Sora bit down on his lip and looked down at their hands before closing his eyes again. He still felt pretty light-headed.

[Forever Love]

Kairi opened her eyes as she exhaled, turning her head toward Sora. "You should probably lie back down," she suggested softly.

[P E A N U T]

Sora slowly brought his head off Kairi's shoulder and opened his eyes, gazing at her. "You're probably right," he said quietly. Could she tell he didn't feel good?

Kairi nodded slightly, a weak smile on her lips.

Sora looked into her eyes and gave her a weak smile in return.

Kairi leaned forward and placed a gentle kiss to his lips.

Sora was surprised by the gentle kiss, but it did make him happy. He lightly kissed her back.

Kairi pulled away slowly, realizing that he needed to lay back down. She opened her eyes and offered Sora a kind smile.

Sora's eyes were bright as he returned her smile, gazing deeply into her violet blue eyes.

Kairi felt herself blush, and was thankful for the darkness of the room. She stared back into his eyes.

Sora smiled and turned away shyly, feeling the overwhelming passion that hung in the air. He gazed out the window at the lit up city.

Kairi bit her lip timidly and flitted her eyes to her hands in her lap.

As beautiful as the city looked, Sora couldn't keep his eyes open too long. Some of it was because he was tired, and the other was because of the lights. That reminded him that he needed to lie back down, before anything else happened. He turned his head and looked at Kairi, smiling faintly. He slowly leaned his head forward and plant a light kiss on her head.

Kairi smiled softly at the loving gesture.

Sora slowly backed away, a faint smile staying on his face as he shift, turning his body and starting to lay back down.

Kairi stood up so she wasn't in his way and tucked her hair behind her ear as she flitted her eyes to the couple beside them, smiling softly at them as they slept soundly.

Once he was on his back, Sora let his head fall into the pillow, feeling relief that it was on something stable again. He shut his eyes and took in a breath, his chest rising slightly.

Kairi decided to take her seat in the chair right next to Sora's bed. She bit her lip and stared at the floor, not really thinking about anything.

Sora exhaled softly, his breathing becoming more slow as he relaxed again.

[Forever Love]

The constant rhythm of Sora and Roxas' heart beats filled Kairi's ears as she stared off into space, the pale moonlight shining on one half of her face.

[P E A N U T]

Sora didn't want to sleep anymore; he felt really bad leaving Kairi all alone like that. But his body didn't seem to understand that. A soft sigh escaped his lips as he drift out of conciousness.

Roxas opened his eyes slowly, groggy from his long sleep. The sun was just beginning to rise, and its rays came from behind other buildings and illuminated the room through the window. He sighed softly, blinking slowly as he became accustomed to the light.

Namine still rest her head against Roxas' chest, sound asleep.

Roxas turned his head, seeing that he wasn't the only one awake. Kairi was also up, but facing the other direction, her hand holding Sora's. He smiled softly at the sight, knowing that Kairi cared a lot for Sora. He understood that, because that was how he felt about Namine.

Namine turned her head slightly as she inhaled, still asleep.

Kairi held Sora's hand in hers, staring down at the bed. She'd fallen asleep for a while, but she'd gotten so much rest lately, she could only nap for an hour or two. She could feel the sun's rays warming up her back as they rested on her form.

Roxas rubbed Namine's shoulder for a moment, looking down at her sleeping figure.

Sora moved his hand slightly in Kairi's, starting to wake up.

Namine smiled in her sleep, feeling very loved and cared for. She snuggled closer to Roxas.

Roxas tightened his grasp on Namine when she cuddled closer. A small smile came across his face.

[P E A N U T]

Namine exhaled softly, slowly blinking as she started to wake up.

Kairi blinked, her eyes starting to hurt from staring so long. She used her free hand and rubbed her eyes.

Sora turned his head on the pillow, away from the window. He slowly opened his eyes and gazed at the floor, immediatly noticing how bright the room was.

Kairi felt a tickle in her nose and closed her eyes, inhaling slowly. She turned her head away from Sora and covered her nose and mouth with her hand, a sneeze escaping her.

Roxas looked over at the sound, and blinked. He had to admit, her sneeze scared him a little; he'd been so used to the silence.

Sora jumped slightly at the sound, the noise surprising him and echoing through his hears. He clamped his eyes shut again, feeling pain for a few moments.

Namine flinched at the sound, now fully awake.

Kairi sniffled and then sighed, lowering her head. She didn't like the feeling she was getting.

Sora turned his head so he was facing the ceiling, though he kept his eyes shut now as he wait out the pain. It would fade...eventually.

Kairi let go of Sora's hand and crossed her arms, keeping her head lowered.

[P E A N U T]

Sora turned his head on the pillow again, facing Kairi as he opened his eyes sleepily. "Morning," he greet groggily, bring up a hand as he faintly waved at her.

Kairi looked up at his voice, and then smiled softly. "Good morning," she greeted back.

[P E A N U T]

Sora blinked a few times, the light from the sun going into his eyes. "What time is it?" He asked quietly.

Kairi sniffled and looked up at the clock. "Almost 8 in the morning," she answered.

OOC: I have to go shopping for a little while. I'll be back in an hour or two, maybe a little longer. Bye!

"Oh." Sora let his head fall deeper into the pillow as he shut his eyes again, unable to get used to the bright lights.

OOC: Okay, bye!

Kairi bit her lip, but then she felt a tickle in her nose again. She turned her head away, and closed her eyes as she felt the tickle strengthen. She covered her nose and mouth, sneezing again.

Sora flinched again, his eyebrows furrowing in pain. But he did his best to hide his pain; he didn't want Kairi to feel guilty for something she couldn't control.

Kairi shook her head. "Geez." She kept sneezing for some reason.

Sora bit down on his lip, tears hovering behind his closed eyelids.

[Forever Love]

Kairi sniffled and cradled her head in her hands, closing her eyes and sighing. She hoped she wasn't getting sick or anything. That was the last thing she needed.

Sora let out a small, shaky breath, only show a tiny ammount of his discomfort. He bit down on his lip again, a little lighter than before.

Kairi turned her head, seeing that everyone was awake now, most likely because of the racket she was making. "Sorry, guys," she apologized, turning her head so she was looking at the floor, her hands still cradling her head.

Namine smiled softly. "It's okay," she quietly reassured her best friend.

Roxas nodded in agreement.

Kairi smiled weakly, but it faded. She sniffled and shut her eyes, her hands in her hair. She shivered a little, goosebumps forming on her arms.

Sora's breathing was back to normal after he had calmed himself down, the pain in his head almost completely gone again.

Roxas moved his hand that was on Namine's arm to his head, rubbing it a little. He turned his head to the window, squinting as the sunlight poured through the window brightly.

Namine turned her gaze to the window and was momentarilly blinded by the bright light. She blinked as she became used to the bright morning sun.

Kairi shuddered, suddenly cold. The sun's warm rays helped a little, but the goosebumps were still on her arms.

Roxas closed his eyes and leaned his head back, sighing softly.

Sora kept his eyes closed and turned his head away from the window, a quiet sigh escaping his lips.

Kairi opened her eyes and looked over at the window, but turned her head away at the brightness. Her eyes found Sora and she bit her lip. "Is it too bright, Sora?"

Sora silently nod, keeping his eyes closed.

Kairi got up from her seat and walked over to the window. She stopped with her hand on the curtain, turning to Roxas and Namine. "You guys don't mind if I shut this, do you?"

OOC: Sorry! My mom took over the computer. =(

Namine gently shook her head and gave Kairi a small smile. "No, it's fine." She was actually thinking that it was too bright for her, anyway. She couldn't imagine how Sora's head felt if it was already bright enough to hurt her eyes.

OOC: It's okay, I figured it was something like that. =)

Kairi smiled slightly and looked up at the curtain as she pulled it shut, the room darkening.

Namine blinked, the lighting in the room much better now.

Kairi turned around and started walking back to her spot next to Sora's bed, crossing her arms. She didn't like the fact that she was getting chills and sneezing. It made her feel uneasy.

Sora's breathing was even and relaxed as he lay on the bed, his eyes still closed.

[Forever Love]

Kairi stopped in her tracks, freezing. She got that feeling again, and brought her hand to her face. "Oh, geez," she said, her voice muffled.

Roxas looked at the redhead, arching a brow. "You okay?"

[P E A N U T]

Namine turned her head and looked over at Kairi, concerned.

[Forever Love]

Kairi didn't answer Roxas and instead squeezed her eyes shut. There was a tickle in her nose and she sucked in a breath before sneezing again.

Roxas flinched a little. She was sneezing a lot in just the past few minutes.

[P E A N U T]

Namine looked at Kairi sadly. It was pretty obvious that Kairi was getting a cold.

Kairi made a sound of disgust. She couldn't get sick now! Not while Sora was in the hospital. But she didn't want to get him sick either, and he didn't need any more to deal with than necessary. And a cold was definitely not necessary, especially if Kairi could help it.

Namine looked down, bitting her lip. She remembered that when she was in the hospital a few years ago with her grandfather, his doctors hadn't let anyone who was sick in to see him. The doctors said that it was because his immune system was already weak because of the surgery he had on his heart. Namine wondered...would the doctors say the same thing here?

Kairi stood there, her hand on her forehead. She didn't feel that well, because of her cold and the fact that she'd have to leave and wait a few days until her cold was gone to come back.

[P E A N U T]

"Kai, maybe you should go home." Namine said softly, noticing that her friend looked a little red in her cheeks.

Kairi raised her head, flitting her eyes to the blonde. They were filled with sudden sadness as she looked at her friend. She hesitated, and then nodded. "Maybe you're right," she said softly.

Roxas frowned slightly at the girl's sadness. Kairi didn't seem to take it too well, and he suddenly wondered how Sora was going to handle it.

Namine smiled weakly. "I'm sure it'll pass over quick." She told Kairi, trying to cheer her up.

Kairi nodded slightly, her eyes flitting to Sora. She looked at him for a moment and then looked away, turning her head to find her coat. She walked over to the chair and started slipping it on.

Namine looked at Kairi, and then she gazed up at Roxas.

Roxas bit his lip and then felt someone's gaze on him, causing him to look down at the blonde still in his arms. He smiled weakly and then looked back up when Kairi spoke.

"Tell Sora I'm sorry, okay?" she asked quietly, figuring he was asleep because he'd been so quiet.

Roxas nodded.

Kairi walked over to the door and left quietly without another word.

Namine silently watched as Kairi left, feeling bad for her. She knew how badly she wanted to be with Sora, because she was feeling the same thing about Roxas.

Roxas bit his lip. It was too bad Kairi had to go like that. She wanted to be with Sora, he understood that. Hopefully the cold would pass soon, and she could come back.

OOC: I have to get off for a second. I'm downloading a software and I have to close the window to make it work. Be back in a few minutes.

Namine let her eyes fall on Sora, who must have been asleep.

OOC: Be right back too.

Kairi exited the elevator and walked out of the hospital, sneezing once she got outside. She sniffled as she walked to the road, and she waved for a taxi. Conveniently, one pulled up in a few seconds and she climbed in, telling the driver her address so she could go home.

Poor Kairi, Namine thought. She really wanted to be here, but she knew the risk of contaminating Sora.

OOC: Being kicked off for the night. Dx Bye.

Kairi sniffled while sitting in the back of the taxi, on her way home. She needed to go home and sleep. Maybe that would help.

OOC: Okay. Bye.

Namine bit down on her lip, not really enjoying the eery silence that had filled the room.

Kairi thanked the driver and got out of the cab, walking up to her front door. She bent down and grabbed the spare key under the doormat, having forgotten her other in the house. She unlocked the door and stepped inside, her house warm from the last time she'd been in it and left the thermostat on. She shut the door and sighed, but then sucked in a breath before she sneezed again. She groaned and sniffled, bringing a hand to her head. She didn't know if it was because her hands were cold from being outside or what, but her head felt hot.

Namine turned her gaze away from the sleeping boy and stared at the wall in front of her.

Roxas lowered his head and closed his eyes. Things kept getting worse and worse for them every day. When would it stop?

Kairi took off her coat and shoes before walking into the kitchen. She reached into the medicine cabinet and grabbed cold medicine. She poured the syrup into the provided cap and put her head back as she brought it to her lips, the liquid going down her throat. Kairi squeezed her eyes shut and swallowed hard at the taste, not really enjoying it.

Namine sighed very quietly, leaning her head back and blinked a few times, looking straight ahead.

Kairi decided to make herself soup while the medicine took effect. It'd make her sleepy, and she needed to fill her stomach or she'd feel worse when she woke up, probably having an upset stomach instead.

Roxas turned his head, his eyes falling on the girl next to him. He leaned over slowly and planted a small kiss on her head.

Namine smiled faintly, turning her clear blue eyes towards the boy she loved so dearly.

Roxas pulled back from the kiss slowly, flitting his eyes to see Namine's.

Namine was struck by something different in Roxas' eyes the moment she looked into them. Something felt...different.

Roxas offered her a small smile.

OOC: Sorry for the quick disappearance. Had a stray in my backyard. But he was SOOO CUTE!! 8DD I pet him and everything. Ugh, he was adorable!

Namine softly returned his smile.

Roxas closed his eyes and leaned his head back, a soft sigh escaping him as he relaxed.

Namine lift up her chin and placed a light kiss on Roxas' cheek, her eyes closing slightly when her lips came in contact with his skin.

Roxas smiled softly at her loving gesture.

Kairi stirred the soup in the pot, but turned her head away as she sneezed again. She groaned. The medicine needed to start working faster.

Namine pulled back softly and shut her eyes completely, exhaling softly.

Roxas' smile faded when she pulled back. Just a moment ago, when he offered her his small smile, he'd done it because she seemed a little...off by something when she looked at him. He didn't know what it was, but he didn't want to think anything bad anymore. So he let the thought drop.

The soup was finished and Kairi put it in a bowl, grabbing a spoon before walking over to her table and beginning to eat. She wanted to do everything she could to make it go away; she wanted to get back to Sora's side.

Namine opened her eyes and turned her eyes toward the wall again, staring off into space.

Roxas exhaled quietly as he relaxed.

Kairi felt the steam from the soup caress her face, and she closed her eyes as the warmth enveloped her skin. It felt nice, and she decided she'd cozy up once she finished with her soup. That medicine had to kick in soon, and if she was going to be conked out for a few hours, she might as well make it comfortable.

Namine wasn't really tired at all...not physically. She was stressed, and definitly being pushed to her limits, but she wasn't tired.

Kairi finished her soup and got up from her seat at the table, walking over to the sink and setting the bowl down in it. She then went upstairs to her room to change into more comfortable clothing.

Namine's family was probably wondering where she was. She hadn't been in contact with them since the funeral. But, they probably knew that she was here, with Roxas. Now that she thought about it, she was positive they knew. After all...where else would she be?

Roxas inhaled softly, his heart beating at a steady pace as the beeping entered his ears.

Kairi walked into her room and approached her dresser. She opened one of the drawers and pulled out sweats and then grabbed a T-shirt.

Her family would understand why she would be here. Roxas meant so much to her...and she would never let him go. A while back, he had told her he would always be in her heart. Well, as long as she had a say in the topic, he would always be by her side too. She would never let him go, just like he promised to never leave her.

Roxas turned his head slightly, still awake, now facing the blonde next to him.

Kairi went downstairs, sneezing a few times as she made her way to the living room. She sniffled as she grabbed a few blankets, freezing. She got goosebumps on her arms again, and she was starting to feel a little weak as well. She cuddled herself up in the corner of the couch, the blankets over her form as she turned on the television.

Namine blinked, continuing to stare at the wall in front of her.

Roxas opened one of his eyes, peeking at Namine. He blinked, opening his eyes fully. "Everything okay?" he asked softly.

Namine blinked once, coming out of her daze. She turned her eyes to Roxas and nod. "Mmhm."

Roxas nodded once. If she said so, he'd believe her.

Kairi blinked, her eyes suddenly becoming really heavy as she watched TV. Apparently the medicine was working.

Of course, things weren't okay. The air was thick with tension. At least, it felt that way to her. Namine let out a breath and leaned back slightly, getting more comfortable.

Roxas looked at her for a second, and then slowly leaned over, resting his head on her shoulder.

Kairi caught one last glimpse of the television screen before her eyes wouldn't open anymore. In a few moments, she was fast asleep.

Namine smiled faintly and turned her head, planting a light kiss on Roxas' spiky blond hair.

Roxas smiled, shutting his eyes halfway in comfort as he stared at the wall ahead of him.

Namine slowly pulled back and leaned her head against the back of the bed, shutting her eyes for a moment.

Roxas felt like he good fall asleep again, both out of comfort and boredom. This place really wasn't that interesting, but at least he wasn't alone. He had Namine to thank for that. But then his thoughts trailed to Sora, who was alone without Kairi.

Namine let out a breath, opening her eyes halfway and gazing toward the closed window.

Hopefully Kairi would get well soon, so then Sora wouldn't be alone anymore. Well, he wasn't really, with him and Namine here, but that was different. They were friends to Sora, not people he loved like he loved Kairi.

Namine just looked at the window, not really thinking anything. She had done too much thinking lately.

Roxas shut his eyes completely, letting his mind wander to different things.

Sora rolled over onto his back, his closed eyes facing the ceiling. He had no idea what time it was or anything, but it felt as if he had been in his deep slumber for quite some time.

Roxas snuggled closer to Namine, relaxing into her shoulder as he slept.

Namine turned her head when Roxas cuddled closer, her head resting lightly on his as she slept.

Sora blinked several times, growing accustomed to the lighting in the room. It wasn't too bright or too dark. And he noticed that, for once, his head didn't erupt in pain when light first hit his eyes.

Kairi woke up for a second, sneezing before falling back into her slumber, pulling the blankets closer to her face.

Roxas sighed softly as he slept.

Sora smiled faintly. That was definitly a good sign. He turned his head on his pillow, expecting to see Kairi in the chair by his bedside. He was surprised to see that it was empty.

Kairi shivered slightly in her sleep, not really liking the feeling she was having, even if it was in her sleep.

Sora blinked, a bad feeling in his stomach. He made of a sound of disgust and chased away the bad feeling. Kairi was probably just at home...cleaning up or something like that. She would be back soon.

Roxas inhaled quietly, his heart monior beeping steadily.

Kairi sighed softly in her sleep, adjusting to the cushions of the couch.

Sora turned his eyes toward the ceiling and stared off into space for a long time, relieved he was finally starting to feel better.

Kairi sniffled as she slept, slightly aware of the cold she had.

Afer some time passed, Namine shift slightly, starting to wake up.

Roxas woke up for a second at the movement, but he quickly fell back asleep.

Namine blinked a few times and moved a little. She looked down and saw that Roxas had his arms wrapped around her again. The sight made a faint smile appear on her lips.

Roxas sighed softly as he relaxed into Namine's form.

Kairi's medicine must've taken a lot of effect, because she was now in a deeper sleep.

Namine's smile widened slightly. She was hoping she could get away for a little bit and take a quick trip home to wash up, but she didn't want to disturb Roxas as he slept.

Roxas inhaled quietly as he slept.

Oh well, she could do that later. She didn't dare move again, afraid that her previous movements may have already woken Roxas up slightly.

Roxas' ears picked up the beeping of the two monitors in the room, in the state between awakening and slumber.

Namine relaxed into Roxas' arms and closed her eyes again. If she was stuck here, she was at least going to make it comfortable.

Roxas started to get annoyed. The beeping was getting a little irritating, but he knew there was nothing he could do about that. He inhaled softly, his grip loosening on Namine's form.

Namine shift her gaze to Roxas, moving her head only as much as she needed to. Still, she didn't want to wake him up. She'd be patient and wait until she was sure he was asleep.

Roxas exhaled his breath quietly, trying to block out the noise in the room. He wanted to sleep again, even though he was already halfway there.

Namine shut her eyes again and let her head lay on Roxas' chest. She realized that she may have had to stay still for a little while, and she wanted to feel close to the one she loved so passionatly.

A feeling of someone's soft presence entered Roxas' senses, even though he was almost out of conciousness. It was comforting, and made him smile inwardly, not having the energy to express his feelings physically. He relaxed a little more, and in a few minutes, crossed the line to unconciousness.

Namine smiled, now sure that Roxas was asleep. If he had been awake, he would have grabbed her tighter or something like that. She slowly started getting out of Roxas' arms and successfully rose to her feet, not making a single sound.

Roxas didn't react to the movement, unaware of anything but his dreams.

Namine looked at the sleeping boy, smiling faintly. She plant a light kiss on his head before silently leaving the room.

Roxas smiled slightly at the gesture before it faded as his sleep continued.

Namine walked through the hosptial halls and then out the entrance. She just realized that she had forgotten her coat...oh well, she'd be back soon enough. She climbed into a cab and started towards home.

Kairi heard murmurs in the room, the voices faint. She opened her eyes slightly, blinking a few times before they fully opened. She looked over in the direction of the noises, and her eyes found the television still running. She rubbed her eyes and sighed softly, trying to exit her groggy state.

Roxas inhaled, his monitor beeping steadily with his heart.

Sora opened his eyes and looked around the room and noticed that the lighting had changed. He must have dozed off without even realizing it. He turned his head toward the other bed and saw that Roxas was alone. But he didn't have time to think about that, because he started into a fit of coughs.

Roxas started to wake up a little when the noise entered his ears. He couldn't identify it while he was still out of it, though.

Kairi threw the two covers off of her as she put her legs over the edge of the couch, the colder air hitting her skin. She got up and started walking toward the kitchen to get a drink of water, but she stopped next to the archway, gripping it when she got light headed. She brought a hand to her forehead as she closed her eyes, trying to steady herself.

Sora's coughing grew louder, even though he tried to surpress that noise. He squeezed his eyes shut and continued coughing.

Roxas opened his eyes, blinking a few times. He was already facing the direction toward Sora, and his eyes fell on the boy, who was obviously having a hard time.

Kairi sighed when the dizzyness went away. "Got up too fast," she murmured. She shook her head slowly as she continued onto the kitchen.

Sora's coughs slowly subsided and his heartrate began to slow, his breathing heavy and his chest rising with each breath he inhaled.

Roxas stared at the boy for a second, but turned his head to stare at the wall once he knew he was all right.

Sora eventually caught his breath and his heartrate fell back into its normal pace. Sora's eyes stayed closed for a few more moments.

After a moment, Roxas suddenly blinked, his eyes darting around. Namine was gone, and he just now noticed. Where'd she go? His eyes found her coat in a chair...but she wouldn't leave without her coat, would she? Roxas' eyes found the door to the room. She was probably just getting a drink or something.

Kairi drank the water she'd gotten from the faucet in the kitchen. She gulped it until it was gone, the liquid cold as it went down her throat. She leaned against the counter, setting the glass down. She stared off into space for a moment, wondering if the medicine had worked. A tickle in her nose came, and a sneeze shortly followed. Well, she guessed that was her answer.

Sora opened his eyes again and gazed at Roxas, who wasn't looking back at him. He also noticed that Kairi still wasn't back. Where could she have gone? Did he just keep missing her somehow?

Namine looked in the bathroom mirror and dried her hair with the blow dryer, her blonde hair become lighter as it dried. She'd head back to the hospital as soon as she was done cleaning herself up.

Roxas sighed and relaxed into his pillows. She was fine, he could feel it. But he could also feel something else, like someone's eyes were on him. Roxas turned his head, his eyes meeting the ones I identical to his in the other bed. He flashed a grin Sora's way.

Kairi groaned. She took the medicine, had the soup, got warm enough to where her chills didn't bother her anymore, and she slept for hours. But she knew that wasn't enough. She still needed one more thing: time. She realized that and sighed softly. She just wanted to be next to Sora again. But he probably understood why she was gone. Roxas had probably told him about her apology and condition, right?

Sora grinned back, slightly embarrassed that Roxas had caught him looking at him. But oh well, he probably didn't think anything of it. After all, Sora was a little dazed from his long sleeping periods. "Hey," Sora greet his friend, his voice cracking slightly because of his throat being dry.

Roxas waved, his grin fading into a small smile. "Get enough sleep?" he asked.

Sora nod, shifting so he could face Roxas better. "Yeah...I think that's all I've done so far today!" Sora said with a quietly laugh.

Roxas nodded and his smile grew a little. "Yeah, I guess that's all there is to do in here, huh?" That's all he had been doing lately, like Sora. Namine had to have been bored out of her mind, just sitting here while he recovered.

Kairi bit her lip and went toward the staircase, going upstairs to shower. She wanted to think she could just wash the sickness away, but she knew that couldn't happen. But the steam from the hot water would help her headache she had.

"Pretty much." Sora said in agreement, a small smile staying on his lips. "So...where are the girls? Did we bore them too much?" Sora joked, looking at his friend.

Namine ran a brush through her hair and took one last look in the mirror before heading to the kitchen to grab a quick bite to eat.

Roxas smiled a little, but then he shook his head as he answered the question. "I'm actually not quite sure what happened to Namine. Her coat's still here, so I don't know where she is if she's around here somewhere." Roxas eyes found the coat in the chair as he talked.

"Hm." Sora nod at Roxas' response. "What about Kairi? I haven't seen her in a little while."

Roxas turned his attention back to Sora. "As for Kairi," he started, biting his lip a little. "She's sick. She left because she didn't want you getting sick too."

Sora arched a brow. "What?" Sora couldn't believe that. How could she have gotten sick? How long was she sick? And here he had thought that she just went home temporarily.

Roxas bit his lip. "She said she was sorry," he said, delivering the redhead's message.

"Why couldn't she have stayed?" Sora asked aloud, turning his head and staring up at the ceiling.

Roxas frowned and looked down at the floor, feeling bad for Sora.

Sora frowned angrily, staring up at the ceiling. Now that he was actually awake and feeling better, he was alone! He hated being alone. He curled his hand into a fist, extremely frustrated.

Roxas blinked, continuing to stare at the floor. "Don't worry, though. She'll be back in no time." He looked up at Sora and smiled slightly.

Sora didn't shift his gaze from the ceiling. "How bad is it?" He asked softly, worrying about Kairi.

Roxas' smile disappeared. "Well, as far as I know, it's only a cold," he answered truthfully. If it got any worse, he wasn't aware of it.

Sora nod and continued staring at the ceiling. He bit his lip in disgust. Not at Kairi...at himself. His first thought had been that he didn't want to be alone, and he didn't even think about how she would be feeling. How could he have been so selfish?

Roxas turned his head and looked at the wall.

Kairi laid down on her bed, fully dressed with wet hair. The shower hadn't helped like she thought it would. She still had her headache, and she was still weak from illness.

Sora would definitly miss her though. He already was. Nobody would be there to hold his hand when he woke up, or kiss him on his forehead when he was actually concious. No more snuggling for a little while too. Those thoughts saddened him.

Kairi coughed, and it hurt her throat. She brought a hand to her forehead, her eyes widening slightly at how hot her head was. Now she had a fever? Fantastic. Kairi sat up, her feet touching her floor. She was exhausted, had chills, was weak, her muscles ached, she had a headache, she just coughed, and now she had a fever too?! She groaned. The only other symptom was nausea, which she didn't have...yet. She closed her eyes in frustration and sickness when she realized something. She was one symptom away from the flu.

Sora stayed silent in his bed and gazed at the ceiling sadly, hoping that Kairi would get better soon. Not just so that she could be with him...but because he wanted her to not be sick.

Kairi felt tears form behind her closed eyelids. She didn't want to be sick, she wanted to be with Sora. And it seemed like this happened so she purposely couldn't be. One tear escaped her closed eye and trickled down her cheek. She wasn't only crying for that reason, but because of everything bad that had happened, and because she was feeling terrible.

Sora shut his eyes and let his head sink deeper into the pillow, feeling very upset and sad at the new turn of events. Couldn't they all just get a break from all the drama?

Kairi felt her damp hair press against her face when she curled up into a ball on her bed, tears leaving her eyes. She didn't want any of this, any of it. If they could just get a break...

Sora's head hurt from thinking so much. He frowned and shut his eyes again.

As Roxas stared blankly at the wall, he began to wonder where Namine was. If she was in the hospital or somewhere else, he was hoping she was all right, in any case.

Sora let out a breath as he lay in his bed, still feeling worried despite Roxas' reassurance that it wasn't serious. Being sick was never fun, and Sora was worried about Kairi.

Namine smiled to herself as she walked through the hospital hall right by the boys' room. She had actually been in the hospital for about five minutes, and she had conveniently run into Roxas' doctor. And he had shared some good news with her, which made her want to jump for joy. But she had to tell Roxas first.

Kairi knew that crying was only going to tighten her stomach and make her feel worse, but she couldn't help it. She was too upset to stop. But she should have. Kairi's heart seemed to skip a beat as she got a familiar feeling in her stomach that was never welcoming. She pushed herself from her bed quickly and darted for the bathroom, reaching the toilet just as she began to vomit.

Roxas bit his lip. Things had gotten worse, and he didn't like it. Not one bit. First the Boston Market incident, and then this hospital room. Now Kairi was sick, Sora was upset, and Namine was gone. He didn't know what could add on to the load of unfortunate events.

Namine tried to surpress her smile as she came up to the door and softly pulled it open, unsure if either of the boys were asleep or not. Her blonde hair swung over her shoulder and stood out against her navy blue sweater as she entered the room, her winter boots landing softly on the tile floor.

Roxas flitted his eyes to the doorway, his teeth leaving his lip as a small smile formed on his face.

Kairi gasped for breath once she was done, and she flushed it. She started sobbing, out of sickness and disgust, and sadness as well. She had the flu, and that took a few days to get rid of, which meant a few more days away from Sora. Kairi sobbed more, a horrible taste in her mouth.

Namine silently turned around and shut the door softly behind her before she looked around the room, and she noticed both boys looking at her. She gave them a wide smile as she stood by the door. "Hey." She greet her friends.

Sora nod and gave her a weak smile. "Hey," he said back, surprised that he had actually spoken.

Namine smiled softly at Sora. She could tell that Roxas had told him the news. But after a moment, she looked away, not wanting him to feel awkward. She started toward Roxas' bed.

Roxas' smile widened at hers. "Hi," he greeted as she walked toward his bed. She seemed like she was in a great mood.

Kairi got up weakly, using the bathroom counter for support. She immediately reached for her toothbrush and squeezed toothpaste on it, starting to brush her teeth as she felt the tears leave her eyes and trickle down her cheeks.

Namine's smile stayed planted on her face as she sat herself down in a chair by his bed. "How're you feeling?" She asked, looking into Roxas' piercing blue eyes.

"Better," Roxas said. Especially now that you're here, he thought. Whenever she was with him, Roxas really did feel better. But he wasn't lying either. He wasn't feeling any pain while sitting still; it was just when he moved his leg the wrong way that it hurt.

Kairi spit out the toothpaste along with the horrid tang in her mouth. She finished brushing her teeth and ran her fingers over her face, wiping away the tears. She caught her reflection in the mirror and paused. She was a mess; she was even paler than she was normally, her hair was gross from not drying it, she looked fragile. Kairi looked ill.

Namine's gentle smile widened. "That's good." She said, making her feel even more happy.

Roxas nodded with a small smile of his own.

Kairi made a sound of disgust and turned away from the mirror, walking out of the bathroom and heading straight for her room.

"I talked to the doctor a little while ago," Namine told Roxas, unable to keep it inside any longer. "And he said that if you're feeling better, you can leave soon." Her smile widened as she looked at her true love.

Sora stared up at the ceiling, listening to the conversation. He smiled softly when he heard the news. Roxas didn't deserve to be in here, and soon he could leave.

Roxas smiled wider, happy to hear that news. "Really?" he asked. His gleeful ocean blue eyes stared into her light blue.

Kairi entered her room and flopped herself down on the bed, her hands in her lap as she stared sadly and sickly down at them.

"Yes, really." Namine softly laughed, sharing Roxas' happieness.

Roxas' smile widened a little. He could leave. Finally.

Kairi sniffled, and her tears started up again. She knew that Roxas had given Sora her message, but she wanted to talk to Sora herself. But how? She blinked and one tear fell down her cheek. Her eyes suddenly fell on her end table, staring at her cell phone.

Namine giggled softly, so happy for Roxas that he could finally leave this place.

Sora was happy for Roxas, even if his leaving meant that he would be alone for a few days. He couldn't even use his cell phone, since the batteries had died. So it would be pretty quiet in here. But that didn't matter as long as his friend got out of this prison.

Kairi flitted her eyes away from the phone. No. They wouldn't allow cell phones to be used in the hospital room, would they? Especially if the patients were using them. Kairi knew it wouldn't work...

Roxas turned his hand over that was laying against the bed, holding it out for Namine to take.

Namine smiled and slipped her hand into his.

Roxas wrapped her fingers around her hand and grasped it tightly, closing his eyes as he leaned his head back.

Kairi wanted to talk to him. Badly. But she knew she had to sit this one out and let it pass. Even if she could call Namine's phone (because she knew Namine would want to be with Roxas always), she had a feeling Sora'd be busy getting tested or sleeping.

Namine gently sqeezed his hand and gazed out the window. It was actually a pretty nice day. She had noticed while she was gone that it wasn't icy out anymore.

A faint smile stayed on Roxas' face as he sighed softly, relaxing. He wouldn't have to deal with this much longer....

Kairi turned away from the phone on her endtable and curled up as she lied down on the bed, facing the window. She closed her eyes and felt a single tear fall from her eye and slowly travel down her face. He was okay, which wasn't even close to what she could say for herself.

The door opened and the doctor entered the room. He turned his eyes to Sora for a moment, and then looked over at Roxas and Namine. He smiled softly and started towards the two, a pair of crutches in his hand.

Roxas opened his eyes at the sound of entry. He saw the doctor first, and then saw the crutches. He frowned inwardly. Even though he knew he would need them, he still didn't want them. Well, it was better than lying in bed all day, right?

Namine looked at the doctor and then to Roxas. She immediatly noticed the expression on his face. She gave him a small smile and squeezed his hand.

The doctor walked up to the end of the bed and looked down at the boy. "How are you feeling today?" He asked, shifting the crutches in his hand.

"Pretty good," Roxas answered truthfully as he looked at the doctor.

The man nodded once, a small smile on his lips. "Do you want to try and stand up?" He asked, looking down at Roxas.

Roxas automatically looked at his leg. He thought for a few seconds, wondering if he would be in any pain if he moved it. He inhaled a breath and then nodded, his eyes still on his leg.

"Alright." The doctor nod softly and started over towards the other side of the bed. He set the crutches against the wall and started for Roxas leg, preparing to lower it so Roxas could move it.

Namine sat beside the bed, watching anxiously.

Roxax bit his lip nervously. He was actually a little scared; he didn't want to go through the sharp pain that was sure to come if something messed up. He squeezed Namine's hand at the thought.

"With the time that you've been recovering with no movement, the tissue in your leg should have healed enough that you'll only feel pain if you move it quickly or roughly." The doctor explained as he gently lay Roxas' right leg down on the bed.

Namine squeezed his hand back, silently reassuring him that everything would be okay.

Roxas nodded at the man's statement. Still, though, what if it hurt? If he got excited or something, yeah, he'd probably move it quickly. He was sure it was bound to happen soon, and it scared him a little. The pain he'd gone through had been bad, really bad. He didn't want to go through it again, even if it was less extreme.

"Okay," the doctor looked at Roxas before turning around for the crutches. "You'll have to do the rest on your own now."

Namine bit her lip and let a small, gentle smile stay on her face as she gingerly pulled back her hand.

Roxas put his hands down on the bed by his sides, helping himself sit up straight as he got ready to move his leg. He bit his lip and stared down at his casted leg, slowly lifting it off the bed. He relaxed a little when it didn't hurt even doing that, and slowly began to move it over to the side of the bed.

Namine watched silently, keeping a close watch on Roxas' facial expression.

The doctor took a step away from the bed and held the crutches in front of him as he watched Roxas carefully.

Roxas turned his body as his leg hung over the side of the bed, and he slowly started lowering it to the floor. He'd taken a minute, but he felt himself become a little relaxed when he didn't feel any pain, just the weight of the cast molded around his calf.

The doctor stood by the side and held out the crutches toward Roxas, seeing that the teen appeared ready for them.

Roxas reached out and took the crutches from the doctor, putting one on each side of him. He was probably a little wobbly from not standing for a while, which he was thankful he had the crutches for. Roxas put his weight on his left leg and in his arms as he slowly pushed himself up, biting down on his lip.

The man stepped back a little, but not too far.

Namine watched and bit down her lip in anticipation.
