So it has come to our attention that some of you are whoring the hell out of your posts and doing some rather silly things to increase your post counts.

This will stop now. Or action will be taken.

Over this weekend I myself shall be going through the accounts of the biggest spammers (and yes we know exactly who you are) and deleting any of your posts that do not contribute or add to the threads.


The same applies to the current flood of "copy paste" replies whereby members are simply putting the same basic message again and again in their posts.


Consider this a verbal warning.

Well if its getting that bad that you have to work extra hard looking for spammers then why not just ban anybody that does it a set number of times? That works quite logically that would show them not to. If you delete their posts they can just repost them.

I have an idea to resolve the spam in the Picture thread, close that one and un-sticky it, then make anothe one with strict (and I mean very strict) rules against spamming. Fear is what you need to control people.

I've noticed that the spam here can get pretty out of hand. I've probably done my fair share around here as well. But I'm not sure how this forums priveleges work, but I was registered on one a while back and they had this same problem. What they did was lower their reputation down to -200. That took away almost every privelege they had. They needed approval before any post and such. Really cut down on the spam. And they had all their spam posts deleted. I'm not sure if you guys can do that, but if you can, it would really cut down on some of the spam. But you would need them to have their posts reviewed by one of you before they could do anything. Just an idea.

Lately, I have noticed an increase in the spammage of some sections. I can think of a topic the Creativity Corner that has a lot of spam, though I can't remember the name of that thread at the moment. Dx Also with the Introduction Section. I know you guys have warned people about copying and pasting greetings before, but lately I've noticed it getting pretty bad again.

I'm glad to hear that the staff is doing something about all this unneccessary spamage. =)

I think PYP thread should be in the spamzone when people decide to just post photos and not bother commenting other peoples, but that's just my opinion because I take my time and go through photos and comment and then it annoys me when others don't but meh.

And as for Art and Graphics section, I don't really post in there except for the occasional drawing I might post but when people post 'I like it, 10/10 :):)' instead of giving proper CnC and totally ignoring when the maker of the thread specifically writes 'No ratings' that gets on my nerves too.

And I admit, I think I've spammed before in sections where I shouldn't so sorry D:

Do you mean by those people who, lets say, go into the New people section and just say "hello, welcome, read rules, bye", over and over again?

I'm starting to hate that, it's more welcoming if you make a post relating to the new person's post so that they know that they can connect with you one way or another.

There is a group of members that constantly spam in there n' it's wouldn't be fair for the other members if it was moved 'cause of 'em. The PYP isn't always so spammy but when two or more members start there are others who think it's awright. The staff outta kick those members in the grotch before it gets outta hand. >:3

Spam is never a good thing, especially in those sections where post count matters. And here's me who has been a member for nearly two years now and I still haven't reached premium D= At least I can't be accused of spam ;D I also avoid it by avoiding the Graphics section completely. Why post somewhere you know nothing about? If you want to say you like someone's graphic PM them. If you have constructive criticism on their work THEN and only then can you post.

So your saying for bag eggs we have to make them get approval for posts? Or are you saying getting post approval for all members? The first one looks possible then we can keep an eye on them, though that would be a hassle for both the member and us. The second one, hell no, too many members, too many posts, we would be spending 24/7 approving posts, it would defeat the idea of a forum.

That may be a bad idea for this site, some of the spammers are premmy's and if you lower their rep to -200, then they'll probably cause a riot, coz they have done a heck of a lot of stuff to get that. People may also leave because it's practically no point of getting it back, so that won't be good for the site.
