If you're talking about the plot, then it takes place after KHII. King Mickey and Jiminy find a mysterious note in the journal. Since Jiminy doesn't remember ever writing it, they digitize the journal. This creates a digital KH universe, and awakens a digital Sora on a digital Destiny Islands. They (somehow) get the digital Sora to go around the universe, defeating the digital Heartless and bugs in order to discover the origin of the note.
