Due to the excessive amount of complaints and "cheating" if you will on the reputation points...

I'm going to raise the level to 100 reputation points for each member to reach Premium.

Also, from now on, all cheaters who ask for points and/or favors by giving out points in hopes of points back, go automatically back to zero. There's no if's and's or but's about it.

Once the cheating stops, it'll go to 75.

I do apologize to the people who earn them fairly.

Also, I would discourage threads that are like 'I have a few rep points til I reach premium' or 'Man, I haven't had any rep points in a while' because this could be perceived as asking for rep.

This is actually good idea but I think it doesn't hurt if people just report that they are being repeatedly asked for rep.

Also, the admins can check to see what that member is doing if they somehow get 100 rep points overnight.

I didnt BEG. I just helped someone with rep and SUGGESTED that they add to my rep. That was WAYYYYY back when rep was brand new. But I admit it.

Don't worry you will be fine, all those who are currently Premium will stay premium (unless you cheated your way) even if it's under the current limit.

Well, Rep points are points that people give you if you make a good post, observation, speculation, etc. And before it was, if you have 50 rep points you can become a Primeum member but now you have to have 100 rep points to become it (what a drag). A primeum member is a member with an orange username. You can give people rep points by looking on the bottom-left of there post and on there you can see a button called "Karma" and you press it, and, if you want to, you can leave a comment.

And also you can look at what rep you have by going to your "User CP" and by there you scroll to the bottom and look.

You can also be a primeum member by getting 1,000 posts.

Yeah it would be against the rules, plus i think the staff would pick up on it before they would get far.

I think some people deffinatly dont deserve premmium, but somepeople do. ANd thats whats going to be very hard for the staff to decide who does and doesnt.

Unfortunately, the forum had its own IRC chat room where everyone was just asking for rep. If this website has one, or a Flash Chat, then I'm sure people do it there too. Everyone had a massive reputation count. Eventually, the administrators just made it so you had to reach 1500 posts to gain a Higher status, and reputation was no longer a factor.
