I never had a chance to read all of the manga, but I got to watch all of the dvds =) It was so funny, I thought the end was sorta sad though

So what is the plot?

its about this schoolgirl, Tohru, and she lived in a tent due to her not having a place to stay and her mother had died in a car accident and father died when she was very young. So one day she walks out of her tent and finds a huge house. She walks up to the house and meets one of her classmates and walks to school with him. People tell her that he's weird and everything but she ignores them. She goes back to her tent afterschool and was discovered by the same classmate, Yuki. Yuki invites her to his house, but hears a mudslide that kills her tent so now Tohru became homeless. She stayed the night at Yuki's and woke up to find out that she had been invited to stay at Yuki's house. She was happy, but Yuki's relative, Kyo crashed into her room. By accidently falling on him, Kyo turned into a cat. She freaked out and fell on Yuki and his older cousin, who eventually turned into a mouse and dog. She'd discovered the sohma family curse. If someone from the family is sick or is hugged by the person of the opposite sex, they turn into one of the members of the Zodiac.

In the manga, the plot was to break the curse so they can become regular beings.

In the anime, the plot was to uh.... well at first it was to meet all the Zodiac animals, then it was to develop Kyo into a nicer man than he was in the first few episodes by learning about his past and what was to become of him.

Furuba is very funny but the anime ends after episode 26 thats awful because in the anime akito was a man. I hope you read all the manga to the end because Akito is a woman and the curse was broken...

Yuki and Machi are soo cute together and she doesn't know about the curse at all.

My friend got me into fruits basket and i love it--i have all the dvds and the manga--i think kyo and tohru would make such a cute couple, wouldn't they??

Fruits Basket is one of my favorite animes. Ritsu, Momiji, Hatsuharu, and Ayame are my favorite characters. Yuki's fanclub girls and Hana crack me up as well. My favorite episode is when Hatori tells the story of his love for Kana. I could keep going on and on about this show, but I haven't read the manga yet.

I like fruits basket, It's one of my fave animes/mangas. I have 4 volumes of it, and have seen all of the episodes on youtube (not on there anymore). I got my friend into it and now she's ahead of me :( My favorite character would have to be, Kyo. He's cool like that. I despise the Yuki Club though, they are so annoying. :mad: KYO/TOHRU FOR EVA!!!!! :)

Furuba is THE first ever anime/manga I ever got hooked on to. At first I read a little of the manga, but the art was a little weird....so I didn't touch it at all for a while. Then my cousin told me that Fruits basket was good and she forced me to watch the eps on Youtube. Let's just say that's when I got hooked. After watching all the eps twice, I started to read the manga again. I'm at about ch....120 something...I don't know what volume that is cause I download my manga.

The manga did look a bit disturbing at first but my friend told me to watch it, she bought me the first volume manga and dvd.
I got so hooked in the end that I wouldn't budge out of the computer until i had watched the last episode. XD

I read a lot of the manga (1-12) and I got kind of bored with it. It just seemed like the plot was too slow; example: they spent life 3 volumes talking about going to the beach and then when they finally went it was not that interesting.

The other thing I have to say is: "I want Kyo's pants." . . . not like that, you dirty minded person; I want the pants he has so that I can ware them. those pants would make me look super cool.

Example: feanaro walks up to a group of fine women and they say: "Is it hot in here or is it just you?" and feanaro responds: "Oh, it's my pants . . . my pants are whats hot in here." Don't take that out of context.

I've read most of them and I just recently got 15, Akito is on it. :mad: My friends said that Kiku is broadcasting them again:) along with Negima.:mad: My favorite characters has to be Yuki, Kyo, Tohru, Kisa, and Hiro. It is strange that obvious couple characters enters into my favorites.

I love Fruits Basket. I only have 3 volumes though xp. Tohru's personalith annoyed me a bit, but eh, got over it lol. My faves are Kyou, Hatori, Momiji and Haru. =)

i've watched all the anime of fruits basket and i've got them on dvd, i've just finished watching them *sniff* at some parts i felt like i was about to cry *sniff* and my fav character has to be Shigure he's hilarious! in a weird way

This is one of my favourite animes, in fact is the first one I see when I started to build my anime Collection it's funny and it's beautiful and has an interesting but unusual story 10/10^-^
