    Spoilers ahead for 358/2 Days!

Okay, so in 358/2 Days we learn that Axel's real name is "Lea," pronounced Lee-ah. Saix was the one who said it, when he confronted Axel about choosing over his friendship with Roxas or Xion. So, obviously, we will find out in a future KH game who Axel's somebody was and why Saix knew his original name. And I wouldn't be surprised if that game is BBS.
(I would post a link to the Youtube vid, but the site's down for whatever reason.) >:(

Oh, so Watanabe wrote CoM as well? Well, that explains the difference in style. Thanks for clearing that up! :) I thought Nomura was writing it. Huh. No wonder that sounds a little strange. There's definitely a difference in their story-writing. I think Nomura focuses a little more about the Disney aspect of the game. Watanabe is certainly much darker. Is he doing BBS or Coded?
So then, nothing else about the ending was mentioned on Gamefaqs? Although the plot twist with Xion was quite a shocker, I would have expected a little bit more (like why Roxas is identical to Ven in BBS, Xemnas and Aqua's armor, etc.).

Wait, so now it is Xion who was supposed to absorb Roxas? Gawd, it changes every time I hear it! Not that I'm saying you're wrong or anything, (anyone could be right at this point) but someone ought to question what is going on here.

There is a thread on KHinsider about this. It may contain spoilers:http://forums.khinsider.com/spoilers/128190-spoilers-358-2-days-what-xion-actually.html

What I am about to say contains spoilers so beware....

Personally, the ending they are talking about in that thread doesn't seem Kingdom Hearts material. They were actually saying Xion's appearance changes to that of Sora... meaning she actually became male. O_o
I don't know about you, but that seems pretty fishy (and disturbing). They also said that Xemnas created Xion as a puppet just so she can be absorbed into Roxas. The apparent goal behind that was to "complete" Roxas (sort of how Sora needed Roxas to be complete) so that the Organization could have their very own keyblade master and Sora would remain sleeping. In other words, Xemnas is even more evil than we thought before.
That would work, but there's a scene at the beginning of the game that makes that idea seem strange. Here it is:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_mIKHQoqGI&feature=channel_page
At 0:58 and on Xemnas does something to Roxas that mirrors something we've seen between Terra and Ven:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28BTQaYOUBs

Now, there's tons a theories floating around about Xemnas being connected to Terra. That scene just about proves it. However, if Xemnas is indeed a part of Terra, why on earth would he do something to hurt Roxas (the idea in the KHinsider thread). To me, that doesn't make any sense.
But, then again, I have not found the actual ending anywhere. Has anyone? Until I see it for myself, I will not listen to rumors.

It looks like he has Sora-sized feet. It's probably Roxas then. XD

Oh, he has a personality... a personality of a chainsaw. As you said, he is a "no-nonsense" kind of guy. I think, though, that people misjudge his coldness for emotionless. I am guessing there's a reason behind that coldness, but we just haven't learned it yet.

I think it is confirmed she is on the playable list. According to the bloggers who went to TGS, when selecting the members in multiplayer mode she was there but not available. As were Demyx, Zexion, etc.

Oh brother! Are people finding reasons to hate her already? That is so...so... *insert derogatory term here*!
So far, I really like her. Just her character is intriguing and I am really excited to hear her story in 358/2 Days.
I think some people are upset that she looks so much like Kairi, and Kairi fans and haters use that as a reason to bash her. But guys... she is probably supposed to be. =.=
    Another possible reason is that she is an "invader" to Roxas' and Axel's friendship, keyword being "friendship" and NOT "relationship," though some have been known to differ on that opinion. >_<;
Speaking of which, another reason people could bash her for is that she is female. She's competition to the Namine and the ever-infamous yaoi fans. Seriously, I am sure that is one reason.
Bleh. I like all the characters in KH. They're a cool bunch!

Thank you. I had read "The Odyssey" by Homer a while back, and I remembered that Ino saved Odysseus from Poseidon at one point. I hated "The Iliad," but "The Odyssey" was actually a really good book. Then when someone, (I forget who), said Ino was an anagram of Xion's name, it clicked. I've got some more ideas about who Xion is, but I need to organize them.

Some people have been saying that her true name is Ino, which would make sense since it was the name of a Greek/Roman sea goddess (Kairi=sea Aqua=water). The actual story of this goddess, though, is quite tragic:

    Copied from http://www.theoi.com/Pontios/Leukothea.html

She was once a mortal princess named Ino, a daughter of King Kadmos of Thebes. She and her husband Athamas incurred the wrath of Hera when they fostered the infant god Dionysos. As punishment Hera drove Athamas into a murderous rage and he slew his eldest child. Ino grabbed the other, and in her escape leapt off a cliff into the sea. Zeus felt pity for her, and transformed her and her son into immortals.

There's another version of Ino's story that states she was driven insane by Hera as well, and then threw herself into the sea. This story may have nothing to do with Xion's character, but it seems possible...
I am beginning to wonder if Xion was originally a keybearer of the far off past, or at least a copy of one. The names we know so far all have a common theme. Sora, Kairi, and Riku are all Japanese names for the elements. Ven, Aqua, and Terra are all Latin names for the elements. There are many clues that there have been keybearers before all of them, so perhaps their names had themes as well.
There is something that bother's me about Xion. She seems a little hostile towards Axel and Roxas in the trailer, yet in the recent scan, she seems to treat them as close friends. Perhaps she loses it in the end. This is why I think she is connected to Ino, but I think it's a little early for this to really have any significance.
    What do you think?

Aw! The clock tower scene is cute! It almost looks as if Axel is trying to shove the rest of his ice cream down Roxas' back. XD
    Axel: >8D
    Roxas: DO NOT WANT! D8
Xion: DO NOT WANT EITHER! )8

I think Xion is a really interesting character. She looks like Kairi and Aqua, but not completely. She seems like a completely different person character-wise. And what's with all that hostility between her, Roxas, and Axel in the trailer? Here, they look happy as clams. O.o

Thank you for mentioning the novels. All the translations I have found have not mentioned Saix or the organization members very much. I am so fond of KH's characters, though I dislike how little the actual games develop them. I am currently trying to learn Japanese right now. I have the novels, and I can sound out most of the words, but I have no idea what they mean. :(

    XD Agreed! Though him being jealous of Axel is a possibility... just not perhaps for that reason. O_O;
I felt bad when he went "poof," too. It was one of the sadder deaths... at least compared to Demyx. XP

    Seriously.
    From the new TGS trailer:

The World That Never Was, in the castle.
    Saix orders something to Axel.
Saix: "Your worthless friendship or the extinction of Roxas. Which is more important to you?" :yelling:
    Axel looks ticked off.:nerve:

Even Xaldin could be nicer. I wonder what makes Saix and Axel hate each other so much. I think Nomura said that the 358/2 Days story would go deeper into the Organization members' personalities.
    Any creative ideas? 8D
I say it's their contrasting hair colors. (so not being serious XD)

    That was me. :)
I still am confused about Aqua's armor being in Xemnas' room of sleep (lol he sleeps with girl clothes). Xigbar said he heard Xemnas talking to someone in there. I didn't think someone's armor could talk, but maybe it has a connection to Aqua's heart or something. O.o

Indeed she is. What some people are saying (including me) is that maybe Xion is a form of Aqua, but still isn't exactly her. It's totally confusing.

Since when did Xehanort's heartless look manish? (Sorry Ansem-fans).
The only guys who really look like men in the KH series are Lexeaus and Xaldin, excluding Disney characters. (I am a girl. I would know). I remember the first time I saw Sora. I thought he was a girl with short hair. XD
My mom thought Xemnas was female... *bad images*
BACK TO THE MAIN TOPIC!!! D8< Now, I almost think that figure represents any organization member. The opening to KH2 is sort of a summary of what happened in KH1 and Chain of Memories. Since we see Marluxia in all his pinkish glory after the clip with the hooded figure and DiZ, it would make more sense if it was just a representation of the other members.

Could be, though I always thought it was Riku as Ansem. *goes and looks again* The figure looks a little too manish to be Xion. Though that smile is familiar...
