    Introduction

Cloaked in black we ran through the streets of the desolate ruins which was once a great city.
Sweat was on our brows and fear raised in our hearts, and though we knew we were probably going to die soon we continued to run.
So...is this really it? Am I going to die today...?
We were in the middle of the street when suddenly these monsters, Ghouls as we call them, came from out of the buildings to either side and suddenly another group of them were in front of us. We stopped in our tracks and turned around to run back the way we came but the group which had started chasing us in the first place was there.
So this really was the end...
We stood back to back, trying to protect the other but ready to die ourselves.
    “Brother... Is this...” Teary eyes.
    No replies.
But just as we were ready to go someone appeared before us. Four people in fact, one to every side.
One used great grace, one used brute strength, one used perfect strategy, and the last one fought with various weapons.
Within seconds all of the Ghouls had been slain. And though we wished to thank the ones who saved us we knew it best to just follow them as they started to run down the street.
“Are you two okay?” The graceful one asked.
We nod, assuring her that we were.
We ran for about a mile before reaching a once beautiful neighborhood, going inside the most busted down house.
In the back room of the house there was a staircase, which had its entrance hidden behind a bookcase. And then in the basement there was a trapdoor which hid yet another staircase.
Hidden passages...strange people... Just where were we going?
Either way, we knew it was best to follow. Even if we were being led to our deaths at least we would not become Ghouls. That was worse than the most horrific death we could imagine.
There was a series of tunnels following that and we would reach a secured door every now and then. Once we were beyond tired did we finally reach an elevator.
It was in the strangest of places, in the wall of the cave, and looked rusted. And yet...we never felt safer once inside.
Finally the graceful one spoke again.
“You have to make a choice, within a week's time.” She said, her voice rough with past hardships yet still elegant in a way. “No one can live in this city unless they work.”
“City?” Just as we questioned it, a city came into view through the bars which kept us from falling out of the elevator.
“There are various jobs, but only two main groups.” She continues, ignoring us as we gawked at the glorious city, which seemed to stretch on for miles. It probably looked like how the city on the surface did back in its prime. “City Workers and Surface Workers.”
The elevator reached the bottom and jolted from the slight impact. As we tumbled out the other four had no problem staying steady.
“Their names should be pretty self explanatory. You'd either be working down here as something like a medic, or Surface Workers like us. And as you can tell, it is our job to save anyone up top while also finding anything useful to bring back here. So which is? Staying here? Or you gonna take your chances up top?” She grinned a cocky grin, probably already knowing our answers.

    Summary

Group of kids [some blood related while others are a part of the makeshift family for the reason that they have to stick together to live] get saved by the four people described, which are the four classes which can be picked for Surface Workers. Work in the city or get out. Have a week to choose. And in the mean time you will be provided with a place to stay and all that jazz. May be taught some things by the people there. And once you pick a job you'd be given a teacher.

    Background Story

With all of Earth's advances in medicine and technology the human race was nowhere near prepared for the virus which plague their kind. This was because it was not a virus, it was a curse.

This curse turned humans into Ghouls, a more fiendish type of zombies, and opened the gates of Hell so that demons may once again roam the earth.

It started in major cities, but soon overtook the entire world. Billions of people were killed.

There were those who managed to live however, and they started to build an underground city where they were safe from the surface horrors.

They try to relearn their forgotten history of the surface world as they fight for survival everyday.

    NPCs

    Elizabeth

Having been born in the underground city, the twenty-five year-old Elizabeth had the choice of never seeing a Ghoul her entire life. But ever since her parents were killed by them when she was only four she picked up a sword and demanded to be trained. She chose to be a Berserker and soon become one of the best in her class. It is hard to earn her respect or even to get her to talk to you, as she finds herself too busy to socialize, but somehow the three in her team have her utmost respect, especially Alice, whom she shall follow without question.

What she lacks in grace and intelligence she makes up in brute strength and endurance. And like all trained Berserkers she can go into a rage that makes herself even stronger, but due to the lack of self-control in said rage she uses this stage only as a last resort.

    Kathrine

Having been born mute no one knows much about the twenty-two year old Kathrine. The majority of people only know that she lived on the surface for most of her life before being saved by Alice and Elizabeth and brought down to the city. But by then she was already a skilled fighter and able to use a large assortment of weapons, though not mastering any of them fully. She belongs to no fighting class.

Somehow, maybe by not speaking, she has learned to communicate telepathically though only does so often with her team. Otherwise she only 'speaks' to people when needed. And despite her mature appearance she has been known to make very sarcastic and foul remarks.

    Kiki

Despite her young age(19), Kiki is one of the best Scouts in the underground city. Though she is often looked down on and lectured due to her childish behavior and the fact she loves pulling pranks. But while on the surface she takes on a different persona and becomes totally serious and focused; for the most part anyway. And it'd be hard for anyone who haven't seen her in action to tell, but she has an extremely high IQ and makes strategies that could bring down an entire city.

She is the weakest in her group, but easily the fastest. She can also make maps mentally and show them to others through some telepathy skill (which is rare even among Scouts), and sense things and people within a two mile radius.

[Maka will be controlling her for me.]

    Username: Monochrome
    Name: Alice
    Gender: Female
    Age: 21
    Class: Assassin
    Appearance:
Bio: Like most everyone who has been born on the surface life was hard. Though no one knows exactly how she lived before coming down to the underground city. She was found barley alive by a group of Surface Workers and they brought the ten year old back with them to the city. She barley made it, but was able to pull through. Ever since then though she hasn't been able the see perfectly, though thanks to her abilities she's never had much trouble finding her way around. The injuries she had made her forget most of her past.
Personality: Tries to be friendly and helpful as possible while she'd really just like to ignore everyone and fight till she drops. Is often on the surface, but due to an injury acquired a little before saving the kids from the intro she must stay underground for a while.
Weapon(s) : Hidden blades that pop up from her sleeves when she thrusts her arms down, a dagger strapped to her leg, and wire.
Abilities: Mild Healing and can sense things up to two feet away, and invisibility. Also, when in in danger or extreme anger she can change forms. More on this later.
Skills: Poison making, traps making, stealth, quick kills.
    Other:

    Username: Terra
    Name: Adrian
    Gender: Male
    Age: 23
    Class: Classless
    Appearance: http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii45/ArchAwesome1/snow.jpg
Bio: Adrian never truly wanted to be working on the surface. He started off first as a Mechanic but after just a year he got sick of it and, on a whim, headed out onto the surface with a Researcher who wished to study something on the surface. The two went with a small group of Surface Workers who acted as their escorts. Adrian felt invigorated when he finally left the Underground City but his moment of happiness soon ended when the group was soon ambushed by a hoard of beasts. The only two who survived were Adrian and the "Classless" who was with them. Impressed by the skills his companion had, Adrian immediately followed in his footsteps and did everything he could to ready himself to be just as prepared when he would finally become a Surface Worker. It has been five years since that day and Adrian has not regretted his decision since.
Personality: No going too far with that proper impatient character. Adrian is a highly curious person and a brighter mind that one would think he is given his own "Classless" class. He's defensive when it comes to comments about his weapons as he had designed them himself. He does have a rather large problem with heading into dangerous situations just to satisfy his own curiosity and is often sidetracked by just about anything that can catch his attention.
Weapons: Owns a blade that changes into six other forms(spear, chain, bow, axe, shield, and it can split into two short swords) and uses a gauntlet that store in high amounts of energy that can be fired off if sent through special types of devices(namely, the bow form his Adrian's blade). The gauntlet needs to be constantly recharged and sometimes isn't all that reliable.
    Abilities: None.
Skills: Parkour as with the state of the surface the best way to get around is sometimes just by heading in a straight line. Also has limited Mechanic skills though they were still enough for him to create his own weapons.
    Other: N/A

    Username: Maka
    Name: Kyle Coriva
    Gender: Male
    Age: 19
    Job: Mechanic
Appearance: Check out this handsome guy ;D
Bio: Kyle had a knack of inventing and fixing things ever since he can remember. First, it started with taking house clocks, old computers, even his sister's blow dyer, and other machinary apart just to see how each of them worked. Then he would put them back together and made them good as new, maybe even better than before. After years of practice, he's moved up from the smaller household things to the larger things, thus beginning his dream, as well as his father's dream, to become one of the greatest inventors and mechanics of all time. That's pretty much the gist of it... or that's what he wants people to see.
He usually takes things the way they are, and does his best to subsitute missing parts... He can't do that with his twin sister though. Ever since their parents died when they were seven, and after Kyle ventured to the surface to savage his own parts when he was ten (he couldn't find the right parts to an invention) and got seriously hurt, his sister hadn't been the same. He rarely sees her, and when he does, he tries to convince her to stay a while. She never does, but it's always worth a shot. He'll support her dreams no matter what, since she's supporting his.
Personality: Kyle likes company once in a while, but mostly likes to be in solitude. It gives him time to think and time to explore new ideas and possibilities. He's friendly though, despite his daunting features, and is willing to help out a friend or peer in need with what ever he can help them with. When he gets angry or frustrated, he finds himself burried in his workshop or working on something that needs fixing and won't stop until he's completely done with it or until he doesn't have the strength or energry to finish it. It's how he released his negative feelings. On days when company comes to him, he has an open ear and will listen to everyone's problems, feelings of life, anything they feel like sharing that they need to get out. It doesn't matter if it's stupid to them or anyone else to share, he'll listen no matter what.
Weapon(s): Hand pistol with ten rounds, his mechanical left arm (which can turn into a knife, a plasma gun that 30 seconds to fully charge, comb, toothbrush, keys, egg beater- oh wait, those aren't weapons... >>), smoke bombs and other homemade gernades/bombs.
    Skills: Mechanical ninja stuff...
Other: After his adventure to the surface, he lost his left arm and right leg. They've been replaced by mechanical ones, but he has a slight limp when he walks around.

    Username: Maka
    Name: Jacklyn (Jackie) Coriva
    Gender: Female
    Age: 19
    Class: Berserker
    Appearance: She's bad ace.
Bio: (It's mostly said up in Kyle's post)
After she witnessed what happened to her twin brother and the horrors of the surface, she decided right then and there it was her destiny to help to try to put an end to this madness. She worked hard to train herself for this class ever since that day, and rarely goes to the city. When she does, it's to repair her sword or to visit her brother for a breif moment.
Personality: Jackie's smiles are rare, as she seen many hardships in her years as a child and as a teenager. She doesn't like people to mess with her and she's not a push over to anyone. She will act cold to those she never met until they have proved to her that she can trust them. She will save anyone that's not a ghoul in need, but she won't be cuddly to them in anyway unless they're children; she has a soft spot for them. She prefers to work alone most of the time but will work with a group if she believes she needs help or if it's required. When she can't pent up her anger inside of her or when someone pushes the wrong buttons, duck and run.
Weapon(s): Broad Sword that belonged to her grandfather, and her fists (sometimes wears brass knuckles to help highten the punch.)
    Abilities: Rage, and flashstep
Skills: Knows martial arts, thanks to her mother, so if she looses her sword at all (which is rare) then she'll resort to Judo, Ninjutsu, Kung Fu, anything that will get her out of her situation. She'll also use her brass knuckles to help bring on some serious damage.
Other: She has a strange sense of style that she loves, and her companion on her lonely days is her grandfather's sword.

    Username: AwkwardFailure
    Name: Zach
    Gender: Male
    Age: 22
    Class: Assassin
    Appearance:
[IMG] Full credit to the author.
Bio: Zach grew up in the underground city for as long as he could remember. For a long time he worked as a researcher, but all of the research he did just made him longing to go out to the surface. At the age of 13 he was accepted, but as he got tested to see which class would fit him best it seemed he had trouble in every area. When he was about to get sent back to researching a few weeks later at the last moment, all ready to leave, he asked for one more try, saying he'd been practicing. Turns out it was true enough, he had gotten the knife down pretty good, and he'd been working all week on stealth. They accepted him and he was overjoyed, but even though he is very trained and has been going to the surface since he was 14, it still shakes him up a little bit when Zach goes up there, although he still loves his job.
Personality: Sarcastic at times, serious during work but more relaxed when underground, can't stay still, tense, shy at first, overly confident, considerate, concerned about everything, usually a quick thinker, unable to process much when in the worst of situations, very lighthearted unlike the first impression from how he looks,
Weapon(s) : Knife hidden within his right boot, chain (which looks a lot like a belt) around his waist, several daggers within his sleeves.
    Abilities: Invisibility, slight Flashstep.
    Skills: Stealth, traps.
Other: No going too far with that proper impatient character.

    Username: Twilightblader
    Name: Drake
    Gender: Male
    Age: 40
    Job: Trainer
    Appearance:
Bio: Born on the surface, Drake has lived most of his life fighting against Ghouls. During his childhood he joined together with a bunch of fellow humans and struggled to survive against the brutal Ghouls. As he grew and the years passed on he was forced to watch as his allies were helplessly slaughtered. Once his final ally was slain Drake decided he had enough and charged blindly into battle, the rage of his fallen allies overwhelming his rationality. He fought off as many ghouls as he could until he was soon felled. Upon accepting his end he was suddenly saved by a group of Surface Workers and taken to the underground city. Amazed by the underground city he joined as a Surface Worker. His skills as a Berserker soon became so great he became a trainer of the Berserker class.
Personality: Appears to be cold person but really has a kind side he really doesn't make an effort to really hide. He holds the safety of his allies as one of his highest priorities. People usually wonder how such a calm person can actually be a Berserker
Weapon(s) : A huge broadsword almost his size and a pair of metal gauntlets
Skills: Drake is very proficient with a sword and also has knowledge on martial arts which he uses in certain and beneficial situations
    Other: N/A

    Username: Master of Keyblade
    Name: Allen
    Gender: Male
    Age: 16
    Class: Assassin
    Appearance:
Bio: Allen had always love to run. He never quite understood why he did but it was just something he liked to do. Most of the time he would end up going too far past the proper running distance set by his brother, and everything he did, his brother would constantly tell him no going past the limit. This went on until he decided go with him every time he left.
Personality: At most time Allen is calm and collective but sometimes he can be a very impatient and reckless character.
    Weapon(s) : Sword, Hidden Blade
    Abilities: Flashstep
Skills: He's quick on his feet
    Other: N/A

    Username: Maka
    Name: Skye Lorone
    Gender: Female
    Age: 14
Job: Thinking about medic, but undecided for now
    Appearance: Bio:
Skye lived with her crippled father on the surface, not having any knowledge about the city below. There were many times where she had to defend her own house from the ghouls, and she witnessed terrible things as a kid.
(Like a four year old being devored by a ghoul, and there was nothing she could do)
She learned how to look after them and others who came across their path. When she was seven, one of their guests they saved betrayed them in the end, resulting in Skye's father to be killed in front of her eyes, and then she had to run for her life, leaving her little home she knew behind. Stricken by grief, Skye wandered around the city for many days, not caring what was going to happen to her as she carried her father's cane around with her. After a few days, she collasped from exhaustion and lack of food and then she didn't want to go on anymore since there was nothing to look forward to. When she woke up, she wasn't on the street where she collasped; she was in someone's rundown appartment. She never knew her rescuer, she never saw them. Food, shelter, supplies, and good clean water were provided for her. Skye never knew where it came from, but it gave her a new spark to survive another day, another year, and that's how she lived. After she figured that grieving wouldn't help anyone or herself, she got back on her feet and started to help others again. Then just recently, she got in a sticky situation and ended up being saved once again... This time, she was shown to an underground city, something she never ever knew about till now. What will happen to her next, she has no idea. She's ready to take on any challenge that comes her way though.
Personality: Motherlike to all she comes across, good nature, and always tries to look on the bright side of things when things turn for the worse. She can be scared of the unknown, but she'll take a step in it if it's required of her. She tends to not think of her own happiness and focuses on everyone else around her, which can be her downfall. Those who she grows close to, she grows very loyal to. Skye has a determind spirit that she got from her father, and will fight for her life or anyone else's if it's required, or not, of her. Some may say she's naiive from time to time due to her innocent behavior and cheery nature, but there's more inside of her than she lets anyone on.
Weapon: Cane with a hidden sword, belonged to her father
Skills: Has knowledge of how to stop severe bleeding, how to clean and dress wounds, how to nurse someone who's been starving for a long time back to health, and she has a calm aura about her that seems to calm those she's working on so they can relax and not go into shock. She also has a knowledge how to care for the sick, no matter the illness, and she can pick out the cause of different accidents. For example, if someone's arm was scratch, she can tell if it was from rubbing against something rough, or if it was caused from someone (or something).
Other: She got her tattoo in memory of her father and mother, and her flower hairclip belonged to her mother. Her dad never told her what happened to her mom, she just knew she wasn't there.

    Username: Monochrome
    Name: Shino
    Gender: Male
    Age: 16
Job: Wanna-be Researcher (I find myself hitting myself for being stereotypical here.)
    Appearance:
Bio: If it were not for his father and mother he would of been eaten alive as a baby or small child. But they somehow managed to bring him up to his teens. They saw how innocent he was despite being born on the surface and witnessing several violent deaths. They wished more people would be like this and had the naive thoughts that if it were to come to be the world would be peaceful again. But before getting to see that happen they were killed in front of their son's eyes. He managed to escape, but after the adrenaline faded he didn't know what to do. He just wished to die. That is when he met Skye. She helped him with his wounds, but he was more impressed by just how friendly and seemingly unaffected by of what was happening. And then she was braver than he was yet younger. He made it his goal to return the favor of her saving his life in every possible way and decided to follow her and her group around.
Personality: Easily flustered and when he is embarrassed her becomes one of the biggest klutz ever. Otherwise he can be quite serious and focused. Strives to learn everyone he can and simply loves learning new stuff. Also, will freeze up if he sees death or even just some blood.
Weapon(s) : Was given a gun when he first came down but has no idea how to use it and hasn't touched it since being shown his new home and putting it (very carefully) down on the nearest table.
Skills: Besides researching and things to do with computers? Nothing.
    Other:

    Username: Monochrome
    Name: Daemon
    Gender: Female
    Age: Ten
Job: Undecided. Since she is younger she only has to agree to work at some point in her life though.
Appearance: When normal the red markings on her face doesn't show and her eyes are blue.
Bio: Like most people like her, her parents were killed less than a year after she was born by demons and she was then raised by the people who killed them. She does not know this though, and thinks she is perfectly normal. However, since being taken by the demons she has been feeding on Ghoul meat and drinking demon blood, making her something less than human. When the rp starts she was on her first hunt alone when Jacklyn saw her eating the remains of a freshly killed Ghoul. Thinking Jacklyn was someone on her side she followed without question, as she was taught to do so, but is now confused and wishes to return to her normal home, though she will not say anything on the matter.
Personality: Seems to be in a trance most of the time but when she snaps out of it she can be very rude and seeks verbal fights with everyone. Seems to be scared of the underground city.
Weapon(s) : She has claws and sharp teeth in her demonic form
Skills: Knows how to somewhat fight but nothing else really.
Other: She has mild healing abilities, a demonic form, and slight sensory powers. Also, she is not apart of the group that was described in the intro.

Username: Of Pride And Other Things
    Name: Samuel "Hawkeye" Corinx
    Gender: Male
    Age: 20
Class: Assassin-I promise that it's not like the others, though!
    Appearance: [IMG]
Bio: He was born in the underground city with his peculiar ocular tools. The things were heterochromic (probably due to his mother's drinking, but that was just his idea) and very, very strange. Instead of a deficit, they always seemed to make him more...adept and finding things. He was never the most athletic kid, the strongest, though he always could do well in baseball and basketball and stuff. It wasn't a surprise to his parents when the child, who had taken up archery, asked their honor to become a Surface Worker. He's often far removed from many of the dangers others have, like the Scouts, though exposed to more, in a way; he's frequently completely alone when he's out in the field, with a weapon that doesn't really funtion well at close ranges. Still, he can hold his own. Now, he's a must-have and a close friend of many that live in the city because of his excellent powers of a scout and also of an overwatch guard to make sure that things don't go wrong.
Personality: He's loyal. He'll stick with anyone that he likes, and he has met some people that he most certainly likes. He will show direct favortism, going with his friends rather than with someone else who's offering to pay him in some fashion to his services.
Weapon(s) : Modified Sniper Rifle-Equipped with a variable zoom scope with an infared and normal setting. He's good friends with the mechanics, and this is how they pay him for his guarding while they salvage for stuff in the surface. Attack Gloves- These gloves are plated with metal salvaged from the strongest of machines; this adds a lot of 'umf' to his punches, and also allows him to employ something that's not necessarily able to be used-his next weapon. Razor Wire- This silent but deadly weapon is nearly invisible. About as thick as a piano wire, this ultra-strong wire is hidden in his gloves. He can extend it by gripping a steel fork on his left hand (where his palm is) and pulling it with his right hand-razor wire emerges, and it can extend up to six feet. He often uses this as his close-combat weapon of choice and is extremely adept with it. Sickle and Knife A sharpened sickle and blade he keeps tied around his waist. These are more for field work than anything, though he can use them as a weapon if he really needs to.
Abilities: Steady Heart, Steady Aim- Sam can hold his breath and slow his heartbeat for up to a minute, rendering his hands free from any wavering or movement and ensure exact aim. This also applies to a gradual and repeated slowing of his metabolism.
Sniper's Bones- He can, for a period of up to about ten seconds, make his bones extremely hard to withstand the recoil of a sniper shot or an extremely hard fall/punch to his body. If he only does it in a certain area (his breastplate and shoulder, for example, when firing) he can do it multiple times in a row and not be drained. As for surviving a fall, he'll put so much energy into it such a large feat won't be possible for another day or so.
Fight or Flight- When his sniper rifle's ringing out, he'll get found eventually. Because of this, he's extremely fast and flexible whether in a fight or escaping from one that he knows that he can't win. When he does fight, though, he's almost blindingly fast in his movements and makes up for his lack of brute stregnth with this.
Skills: Extremely good eyesight and stamina. He can go for days without eating or drinking on the surface if he really needs to by shutting down a lot of his metabolism. He doesn't need to be lightning fast when he's sniping, anyway; he can rev himself back up with a high-protein bar and some mental concentration. He's also an excellent scavanger, and expert and finding food among the ruins of supermarkets and finding resources around corpses and reusing various materials.
Other: He has an accent reminiscient of French Canada. Blame his family's heritage.

~Kiki hummed happily to herself as she adjusted her ribbon in her hair, making sure it was straight as possible. She lowered her hands and then smiled, giggling in satisfaction. "Alright, it's as good as it's going to get." She then reached for a hair tie and pulled her hair back into a pony tale and then walked backwards away from the mirror. "Another day to scout, another day on the Surface. Whoops!" She bumped into her bed, and quickly caught herself before she lost her balance and then stood up straight, clasping her hands in front of her. "Right then... guess the others will be waiting for me." She yawned and stretched out, looking at her wrist watch. It was way before the sun would be up, but that usually didn't stop Kiki from doing her job. The others needed her day in and dayout. Rain and shine, moon or no moon, she was always there. Kiki's shoulder dropped, and then she forced herself to shuffle to the door before her mind had a second chance to think about laying down and going back to sleep. She knew if she did that again, she would find herself soaked to the bone with ice water. With that last thought, she shuddered, turned around to examine her room to make sure it was clean enough for expection, blew a kiss to an old worn teddy bear that was sitting on her bed, and then shut the door softly behind her. "Let's see what they have in mind for you to do today," she said softly to herself as she walked down the hallways to the communications room.

    [-....-....-....-]

"Ah man..." A body rose from the thin carpeted floor by a moth eaten couch, wearing a grease stained tank top and some baggy pants worn pants. His mechanical arm whirled as he ran his fingers through his shaggy hair. "Fell asleep on the floor again..." the young adult grummbled groggily as he looked around. He sighed out and then flung his hole filled blanket off of him and then moved to sit on the couch, groaning as he felt his back aching in pain. He stared up at the ceiling in the floresent blue glow from an electric charger and watched as the ceiling fan rotated slowly in a whirling, mesmerizing manner. "I wonder where you are," he whispered softly to particilarly no one.

    Alice

Alice's house was close to the edge of the city, near the South elevator. There were four of them, one to each cardinal direction. They had to have a way out if anything were to happen after all. This just showed how alert everyone had to be, how each day they were in danger of being killed. And yet children still ran through the streets, laughing and playing various games. Watching them made her smile as she thought just how lucky they were to be born under here, probably the safest place in the world. Unlike her... She was not so lucky...

Alice shook the thoughts from her mind and exited through the metal from door which was rusted and dragged along the ground, making it difficult to open and close every morning. Most houses were made from scrap found on the surface and brought down here, but most were at least in better shape than her small home. They even had larger buildings near the center of town.

She headed towards Kiki's house, deciding it was wise to go to her first as she would sleep in often unlike the others.

That isn't particularly helpful. Adrian sighed out lowly as he lowered the sketch pad onto his desk, turning the screen off. It was something he had borrowed from a mechanic as he had thought of a new way to power his own gauntlet and needed something to write his ideas down. The thing's more likely to blow up and get me killed than be of any use. He shook his head slowly and rose from his chair, stretching his arms out. He had spent the last hours working out problem after problem only to be faced with a solution that was entirely impractical. "Guess I'll just have to stick with you for now." He spoke lowly as he inserted a small chip into the black gauntlet and slipped it onto his right hand. Adrian lifted a sheathed sword that was leaned against the wall by his door and strapped it to his side before heading out. Part of his mind was set on heading out onto the surface while the other part was still mulling over his options for power sources he could use. Now if only...

Zach sat on his bed, repeatedly turning a stone over in his hands, studying every detail. It wasn't a very special stone, mostly smooth with a few jagged edges, some marks that it was once covered in dirt, but to Zach it passed time. He threw it up in the air, catching it and studying it one more time. He put it in his pocket, just in case if things were slow. He stood up, patting his arms and combat boots to make sure all of his weapons were in place. He nodded, barely having to walk to reach the door of his home. It was a small home, but it was home. The door creaked as he opened it, the door falling off it's hinges. He gently closed the door behind him, treating it as though it would break at any second, which is very possible. He walked in the direction of the other side of the city, since he lived on the outskirts and had a long walk through the city.

"That should do it" Allen said putting his hidden blade back on his arm. He tested it to if it would jam and it did. Okay, now what's the probelm. This thing never works went I want it to. He took off of his arm and worked on it again. Sometimes he wished he was a berserker so he wouldn't have to deal with this, but given his speed this class suits him perfectly. "Now let's see if it'll work". He pulled the thumb ring which caused the blade to come out. "Now it'll work" He said putting it back on his desk and hopped in his bed.

With a jolt Drake immediately awoke from a little nap he took and sat up from the couch he was sleeping on. Panting, Drake looked around at the surroundings of his home and sighed "a dream" Drake muttered quietly. Closing his eye with a groan Drake scratched the back of his head lazily "looks like I slept in" Drake said as he got up from the couch. Giving himself a good stretch Drake looked over at his sword that was resting on a nearby wall and walked up to it. "best not to get out of shape" Drake said. Ever since becoming a trainer he could not return to the surface no matter how much he wanted to. His job was too crucial and he could not afford to die up at the surface. "I've fought almost all my life...still feels strange to be retired" Drake said quietly as he placed a pair of gauntlets on his hands. Grabbing his sword Drake calmly placed it on his back and walked outside of his house and let out a sigh

The girl sighed out as she leaned against the counter and rested her arms on it, then rested her chin on top of her arms. She was staring at her reflection in the shiney chrome of her toaster. The lights were dim in her kitchen, just how she liked it in the early morning so she didn't blind herself. She yawned at herself, fogging her reflection for a brief moment. Suddenly coming up with a clever idea, she smirked as she drew a cloud in the fog. As quickly as she drew it, it evaporated. Her toast then popped up, making her jump to attention.

"Finally," she breathed out, taking the warm toasted bread out of cylinders and setting it on a red plastic plate. As she buttered the toast, she could hear the bread knife scraping against the bread, a dog barking somewhere, and her own breathing. "Ugh... it's so quiet around here in the morning," she grumbled under her breath. "I really hate it."

Finished with her small task, she leaned against the counter and took a bite in her breakfast, still standing up. I guess it's better than the sound of ghouls scurrying around, she thought, finding something to be grateful for about the silence around her. Deep down, she knew this was better than what she went through in her past. If it wasn't for her friends, who knew where she would be... or what she would be. Kiki shuddered at the thought and took another bite in her toast, deciding not to dwell on that thought. "You're mind is really bouncing around today, huh?" Hearing the kettle over the stove whistle shirlly to let her know that her hot water was ready, she grabbed a hot pad and then moved it off of hot burner to one that wasn't turned on.

Somehow she had a feeling someone was going to come to see her shortly; instead of setting out one white, chipped mug with little blue flowers painted around the top, she set two out on her little card table and then sat two packages of instant hot coco with marshmellows, and two packages of instant coffee, just in case. Kiki wasn't a fan of coffee, but she knew some people loved it. Her? Just hot chocolate, please. She opened her own package of instant hot cocoa mix, let the contents fall in her cup, and then pulled the kettle of the stove. She poured the hot water in the cup, then set the kettle down on the coaster on the table as she grabbed her plate of toast and sat down on her stool at the place at the table where she was facing the door. Any minute now...

    Alice

As Alice walked the streets she stared upwards towards the far away rock ceiling, though she only saw a black mass. As she did this she couldn't help but the think about her last job. They saved a handful of kids, one of their best rescues yet, but before even running into them she had fought several Ghouls and she ended up injured. All the outside damage was already healed thanks to their wonderful medics and her mild healing abilities, but there was some internal damage as well. Neither her nor the medic that helped her saw this and it was only discovered while she was training after being patched up. By pushing herself too hard she ended up coughing up some blood.

Internal injuries are always the hardest to heal too... she thought with a sigh, though knowing that she would probably be dead now if it were not for her self healing. Either way, she wasn't returning to the surface any time soon.

Once she reached Kiki's house she walked in, expecting the girl too still be asleep. Which made it all the more surprising when she found her awake at the table. "Sometimes," she started with a smile, "I get the feeling your physic." She then sat at the table and reached for the hot coco packet, opening and pouring it into the mug that awaited her.

Zach was now about in the middle of the city, the sounds of the city and the more larger structures filling him with morning joy, but also slight dread. There is always an end to every beginning. he thought, pretty much his more depressing side of his personality. But in Zach's eyes being happy made everybody else happy, and he tried to do that since he believed in that. He heard a strange noise and patted his pocket, relived to find the bread he put in there last night. He took out a plastic bag as he walked, opening the bag and greedily eating the bread. He wiped his hands on his pants, hastily stuffing the bag back into his pocket. He felt quite thirsty, frustrated to remember he left his house without coffee, all he could focus on was the pointless stone. I could always walk back..but then I would be late for work. he sighed, his shoulders slightly sagging. He checked his watch and slowed down his pace a little bit, a bit ahead of schedule; or at least by his standards.

A giggle escaped from Kiki's lips while she was stirring the hot coco mix with the hot water. "Not quite yet, I didn't know it was going to be you exactly, right?" She pulled the spoon from the hot drink and tapped her spoon against the edge of the cup so the excess fell back in and then she looked up at her friend while smiling. "If I knew you were coming, I wouldn't have set the instant coffee of ick out." Kiki stuck her tongue out in disjust to prove her point, and then picked up her mug. "Are you hungry for anything? Eggs, bacon? I got a little extra pay this week to get some, although I had to give some of it to those new kids." Kiki let the silence fall in between them as she took a long sip of her hot coco and then sat the mug on the table top, making it wobble slightly.

"So how have you been doing anyways, Alice? How are the eyes?" She knew that the girl had a bit of a problem with her sight, and there was always hope that they would improve someday. At least, that's what the medics kept telling them. Kiki still lived in hope, she wasn't sure about everyone else though. She picked up her toast and took a small bite while trying not to be rude by eating in front of her guest, but she was hungry. She had to skip out on dinner yesterday because she was busy getting the newcombers settled into one of the large apartments for orphaned teens in the city. While she was munching on her toast, she absently began to stir the hot coco again, making sure it stayed mixed and ready to drink.

Skye hummed softly as the eggs sizzled in the frying pan, trying to ease her overwhelmed head. So much had happened within the last twenty-four hours, she wasn't sure if she was totally caught up with what was happening. Some people she never seen before saved her, Shino, and the other kids from being eaten alive by the monsters roaming the surface. Then they ended up in a city they didn't know even exsisted, and here they were now. Skye couldn't sleep at all, she was still in the habit of sleeping as light as possible to listen for ghouls that snuck in their hide out, scavengers that were trying to steal from them, or even the terrified screams of an unfourtunate human being falling victim to the virus ridden monsters.

Skye let her humming fade out as she folded her arms and stared at the egg as it popped and cooked. Eggs... when was the last time they had any? When was the last time they had any real food? A while? They came across a couple of abandon stores in the past that had left over Twinkies, vienna susages, ramen, and some other none perishables. On rare occasions, they found fresh food. They were even starting to grow their own garden after figure out if their little patch of soil was contaminated or not. It was a miracle they didn't get scurvey, but it was thanks to the dried plums and aprocots.

Seeing that the eggs were getting close to done, Skye turned down the stove and scooped them on a couple of plates she found in the cupboard. She was up even before dawn, but she roused herself to move an hour later after she opened her eyes... after she had the nightmare again.

As she recalled that thought, she felt herself grow light headed and quickly set down the plates on the table and leaned heavily against one of the chairs while gripping it tightly. "Go away," she hissed as she brought her free hand to her head and pressed firmly on it. "You don't need to think about that..." The nightmare, it always made her sick. Sometimes she woke up screaming, other times she would open her eyes and find her pillow wet with her tears. This time, she couldn't scream, couldn't cry. Something held her back. She woke up and was frozen in silence, not being able to call out to anyone. It was probably better that way, she figured. She didn't want to wake anyone else up. After all, they went through a lot yesterday.

Her hand fell away from her head as it dropped limply to her side; she succeded pushing the thought out of her mind. It was time to focus on a new day and everyone else, not her past or what horrible things happened. She took in a deep breath through her nose and then went back to finish up making the breakfast. They had apples, toast, orange juice, milk, something they always got in powdered form. This heaven was probably going to only last them for a short while, but it was something to enjoy. Skye picked up a bright, shiney red apple, found a knife, and began to cut into it, making slices for everyone to eat.

Jacklyn walked through the sleepy city as the world around her was starting to wake up. Her rather large sword was resting in it's shealth against her back, bumping lightly with each gradual step she took. She really didn't like to be down here, she felt strangely trapped... Others embraced the city while Jacklyn craved for the adventure that the surface brings to her every day. Except... one such adventure just recently had her run into something rather strange...

Jacklyn looked over her shoulder to see if the little one was still following her. She was a small little girl, and Jacklyn couldn't help but take pitty on her. Although how she found her, Jacklyn wasn't so sure this was the right thing to do. The thought made her own stomach cringe at the thought, and she looked back ahead before she could grimance in front of the small girl. "We're almost there," she said over her shoulder to the ten year old. "My friends are kinder than I, they'll take care of you." Jacklyn didn't understand why in the world she let herself cave into her kinder self. Something was wrong... but Jacklyn couldn't say what was bothering her exactly. Maybe Kiki and Alice could solve the mystery for her. She was planning to just drop off the girl and leave as quickly as possible, the surface needed her attention after all...

He arrived blood-splattered but happy. Just having protected a group of mechanics that had asked him for cover as they salvaged engines out of a newly-found junkyard, he had gone through at least four magazines defending them and had to actually begin to defend himself from those that had followed the sounds of his gun to attack him. He had carefully cleaned his gloves and wire already, so he swiftly made a pit-stop at his modest home to change out his sniper gear. He looked relatively the same, with his gun slung along his back and his gloves still on, though his camoflage clothing was replaced with a thin hoodie and his military t-shirt. His pants remained the same, the same army-like pattern on them. He knew where he was going, and he also knew that he was not going to ask for breakfast when he got there. He had heard the news about the new refugees when he was out and had forgotton to check on them, so now this was his time. He knew Kiki from his childhood-they were excellent friends and excellent partners. He smiled as he approached her door, rapping softly on it before peering his head in. "Hey. Just got back from a mission up on the Surface, decided I'd come check on you. I see you have a visitor, though. Hope you're doing okay, both of you. How are the refugees doing?" He asked, slipping in and standing by the door in case she was to tell him to leave. His blue and brown eyes looked over the pair, attentive as he offered a small smile. He worried about Kiki, despite the fact that he knew she was strong and she could take care of herself; he always felt, though, that it was his duty to just be a little...protective. So that's what he was doing. He would check in every so often, and that's how he planned to continue~

ooc - ...I hope we didn't scare off everyone... No worries, your posts do not have to be as long as ours D: In fact, our posts are only this huge cause there are three characters. And don't feel scared or anything to go to Kiki and see Daemon, check up on the kids, or something.

    Alice

Her eyes fell upon the packets of coffee and nodded. "That is true." She stated simply, too focused on finishing her hot coco drink by adding the water and stirring it up, setting the spoon down to the side once finished. "And no worries, I managed to eat something before coming here." Alice was never one to cook, but she somehow managed to end up making enough food to keep on living. It was never the best food nor in large amounts, but it was good enough for her.

Then as Kiki spoke next she paused to take a large sip from her drink before speaking. It was a slightly sensitive topic for her, but she didn't mind that Kiki asked about them every now and then. In fact, it made her happy that one believed they would improve. "I have been well, and my eyes are just fine."

She then looked up as she heard sounds from the door. "Looks like you're as popular as ever."

    Shino

Shino woke up to the smell of cooking eggs and smiled slightly to himself. It had been so long since they have had any real food. However, upon rolling over his eyes fell upon the gun which he had left on the bedside table and his smile quickly faded.

It was needed, and he had killed a few Ghouls in his life before. But he had only gotten lucky those times and certainly never used a gun before. And he never wished to. Thus he ignored its existence altogether as he got up and got dressed before heading out into the kitchen where he found Skye. Before putting on his glasses he rubbed his eyes and then itched his head of messy hair afterwards.

"Good morning." He had spoken before noticing that she seemed off. Knowing that it was probably the nightmare she seemed to be plagued with since meeting her, he skipped asking her what was wrong. "Are you okay?"

    Daemon

Daemon followed closely behind Jacklyn with her head hung, watching instead the ground below her feet rather than anyone or anything around her. This place was so strange and she never heard of it. Why was it so weird? Why were there so many people here?

Mother said we were one of the few people left... So then, are these other half demons? She mentally questioned herself as she looked up for the first time arriving here. Nothing of interest caught her eye so she returned her gaze to the ground. But soon they halted in front of a house. Her friends are here then...? There's one...that man...

[IMG] Allen got up from his bed and grab his coat. It would probadly be best if I leave my weapons here He thought before glancing at his hidden blade. Then again, I don't have to leave all of my weapons here. He went back to his desk and put his hidden blade on covering it with his coat sleeve. Grabbing a piece of toast on the way out he went outside to get some fresh air in him.

Kiki smiled when Alice answered her questions. She was some times hesitant to ask, because she knew how her friend felt about her eyes. It amazed her how easily she could get around and take care of herself though without someone to watch her back twenty-four seven. Kiki had faith in her that she was going to be alright.

The knock at the door kind of caught her off guard, seeing how she was mostly focus on Alice and what she had to say. She looked up when Hawkeye poked his head through the door and then grinned from ear to ear. "Hawkeye!" She stood up from her sitting position at the table and then giddily trotted over to her childhood friend. Without giving him much warning, she glomped him, hugging him tightly. It was her normal greeting from her to him. "It's great to see you," she said as she finally let go of him and took a step back, still grinning like a happy school girl. "Come in, come in, do you want some hot chocolate? Coffee?" Not really giving her friend much of a choice, she gently nudged him in her house and then shut the door behind him. "The kids? Well, last time I checked on them and got them settled in, they were a little in shock."

She went over to her cupboard and pulled out another mug, setting it on the table along with another packet of hot coco mix, just in case Hawkeye wanted some. "To think," Kiki said as she stood back, shaking her head at the thought, "they never seen this place before. They've only known the horrors, not the wonders," she added quietly while folding her arms, being lost in thought.

Suddenly, she sensed something and looked up. Kiki then chuckled and put her hands on her hips. "You're right, Alice. My house seems to be the popular place this morning, Someone else is coming."

Jacklyn stopped short when she saw Kiki's house, knowing that she was probably going to be ushered inside, be gushed over since she was one of the people that didn't like to interact with really anyone, and then be asked if she wasnted to stay. She looked over at the little girl, not really happy that she came across her. If anyone could handle her, it would be Kiki and Alice. "Alright. We're here," Jacklyn said while exasperating. She reached for the door knob when suddenly, the door was opened for her.

    "JACKIE!"

"Oh brother," Jacklyn muttered under her breath while rolling her eyes at the bubbly girl, and then she was suddenly suffocated in an tight embrace.

"We missed you! How come you don't come visit us more often?! It's not very nice you know!"

Jacklyn growled under her breath, enduring the hug but wanted to get out of it. "Kiki, we've been through this how many times now? Please let go of me..."

Oops! Sorry." Kiki let go of the pestimestic girl and then finally noticed the other girl standing behind Jackie. "Aw... And who is this?" she asked, crouching down to the girl's height.

"I found her on the Surface..."

When Kiki met Jacklyn's eyes, she could see she had a lot more to say but couldn't. Not in front of the small girl. She looked over at Hawkeye and Alice, not sure what to do right now.

Skye gasped when Shino suddenly appeared in the kitchen and whirled around to see him. She smiled in relief and then went back to slice the apple. "Morning Shino," she said with friendliness cheerfulness. She waited too long to reply, and quickly looked down back at the apple she was working on. "I'm... okay..." She cleared her throat, setting the slices of apples on the plates next to the bacon and eggs. "How about you?" She really didn't want to focus on her, she never did.

ooc - going to wait for Pride before posting as the rest. And posted as Elizabeth in case TwilightBlader wished to run into her. May post as Kathrine for Terra and others.

    Elizabeth

With a sword that only a Berserker could weild, Elizabeth went out to the training grounds that were to the north in an empty spot on the edge of the city. It wasn't the only training ground, but it was her favorite. Perhaps I shall go to the surface once I am finished... She thought, looking towards the elevator as she arrived at the training ground. It was not unlike her to go alone, without her team. In fact, all of them did so. Well, maybe not Kiki, but Elizabeth did not know this for sure.

She pulled her sword out of the strap she had on her back and swung it out before her.

    Shino

Shino smiled sadly as he noticed that she did not wish to speak of it. It was her wish and so he respected it. "I'm fine..." He mumbled. It wasn't all that true. Everything that was happening had him spoked and on edge, but he did in fact felt safe. Well, if I die here at least I'd die with a full stomach. He laughed nervously at his own thoughts as he took a seat at the table.

Walking through the streets of the underground city Drake headed towards his new destination as he walked out of his house. AS he walked he noticed a few small kids playing up ahead and crossed his arms as he smiled gently. So young and innocent...how long until they will have to work to survive and learn the reality Drake thought to himself and sighed at the thought. Closing his eye he calmly walked past the children and continued to his destination which was a near by training area.

"I'm glad to see you are doing well" Drake said calmly as he walked into the training ground and up to the fellow Berserker up ahead who had her sword drawn. With his hand griped on the handle of the blade on his back, Drake was ready to begin his own training session

ooc - awkward failure and master's characters could run in to each other or something... I'm just trying to make sure no one gets left out.

    Elizabeth

Elizabeth looked over towards Drake, smiling slightly. He was one of the few people who had her respect, being the trainer of her class. "Likewise to you." She straightened her posture and moved closer towards a training dummy.

"What is it like, not being able to go to the surface anymore?" The question had been nagging at her, but she was always too busy to ask. Now that she had the chance, she really wished to know what it was like for a former fighter not to be able to go back up there.

    Kathrine

Up ahead Kathrine could see someone in the streets, knowing that they were another Classless. She sighed as she hoped for someone of a different class, but he'd have to do. The mute then walked up to Adrian and shoved his shoulder to get him to stop walking. Are you free? If so do you wish to come with me to the surface? She sent the thoughts into his head and awaited a reply. If he said no then she'd simply move on and find someone else.

"For most I assume they would be relieved that they don't have to go up to the surface anymore but its different for me" Drake said with a sigh "I have spent most of my life living on the surface. Fight to survive, that was the law up there I needed to follow if I wanted to live. Its troublesome to be stuck down here while others are up there fighting" Drake said gripping the hilt of his sword tightly "there are many times where I wish I could go up to the surface and help" Drake said as he jumped forward to a nearby training dummy and immediately swung down at it, cleaving it in two. "the only thing I can do is believe in you and the other surface workers" Drake said resting his blade on his shoulder

Hm? Adrian turned towards Kathrine. He had already been planning on heading up to the surface before she interrupted his chain of thought. "I'll go to the surface with you if you'd want." Though I'm not too sure why you need anyone around. He looked off to the side, eying a few children who passed by. "Nice weather we've been having, huh?" Adrian asked in an attempt at humor as the fact remained that there was no actual weather below the surface.
