I read some rumor that Disney requested that Square Enix alter Aqua's outfit so her back wouldn't be exposed, because it was "too sexual". Is this true?

If so, isn't it hypocritical, since they seemed to think Kairi's outfit was perfectly fine in KH2.

I really hope they don't, I think her character design is excellent. But considering all the unnecessary edits they did in Kingdom Hearts II, I wouldn't put it past them. I guess we won't know until the game comes out.

I heard that as well.
I wouldn't doubt it.
In one screenshot, I actually thought Aqua was topless from the back >> but that was just the angle of the shot.
Her overall design looks great, imo. One of the better ones I've seen.

Considering Kairi's dress is right, but I was too busy wondering why it had so many zippers to think anything provocative about it.

If they switch the design, I'm gonna be ticked...I mean, look at Namine's design...just a dress...do we even know if she's wearing anything underneath it at all? >_> So why didn't they switch her design just like they're trying to switch Aqua's?

This rumor is very much true. I was going to report about it last week...
The old outfit is on the left and the new updated one is on the right.

Well, as I posted in Mike's thread, maybe there's some kind of "outfit" system. Like jobspheres in FFX2? It would fit, considering the fact that they start as apprentices.

I honestly don't see the big deal. There's only a minor difference in the new outfit. I don't see why they're changing it at all. I think that Square needs to get Disney to back down a little.

For one, we haven't had anything like that in the other KH games.
two, if you mean the difference in her outfit, I doubt the only difference between two outfits would be the lower back.
Three, we haven't seen any different outfits except for their armors, that I'm aware of.

Which begs the question
any world transformations?
I haven't seen a world that they would need to change form in..

Well, regarding the first thing, Nomura did say that the growth system will feel more like the character is "growing." Here would be some examples of possible BBS "jobspheres."

Servant of the Key (Default until a certain point)
Keyblade becomes larger and more powerful, at the cost of dropped base stats. Also enhances Support Abilities.

Keyblade's Guardian (Terra's default after Servant of the Key)
Base defense is increased and HP regenerating abilities are enhanced when used on party members, but attack and speed are lowered and combos are shortened.

Thwarter of Darkness (Ven's default after Servant of the Key)
Light attribute attacks are enhanced, but HP is lowered.
