    Several had fallen. Their bodies had been tossed to the base of the massive tree along with fragments of broken Eldunarí. The dragon and Rider Risit had flown after were like nothing he had ever seen. The dragon was a ghostly pale color, its scales not shining in the sunlight but rather emitting an eerie glow. Both he and Eragon fought against the Rider who had entered the tree. Only Risit survived the encounter leaving Eragon, and Saphira by extension, dead. The mysterious Rider and dragon had taken off leaving Risit to follow after it until they reached the clouds where he and Vanilor lost sight of the pair.

    There was an ear-splitting roar that could be heard for miles. The ghostly silvery, on the verge of being white, dragon burst forth from a thick layer of clouds, breathing an intense torrent of fire at Risit and Vanilor. Wordlessly he cast a spell to protect him which drained him of nearly all his strength. A sharp pain pierced his side. Risit fell off Vanilor, plunging several hundred feet until Vanilor caught him and landed in an earth-shattering crash landing. "Ugh..." Risit rose to his feet as Vanilor did the same, the two looking up at the ghostly dragon and Rider. A flash of blinding light filled the direct vicinity followed by a clap of thunder. The two had vanished as quickly as they had appeared. Following them was not an option to Risit. They were too powerful. ...And they had killed Eragon, Saphira, and several of the most powerful of the order. "Eragon..." Risit dropped Islingr and clutched his side, unable to speak.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~
    Merik was about to speak to Airi and Jerrod when he felt something amiss. He looked up at the sky to see a strange dragon followed by another that he knew to be Vanilor. They disappeared into the clouds briefly. There was a roar and he could just barely make out a falling body with Vanilor chasing after it. "Risit!"
    'Evarinya-elda! A Rider is attacking-'
    He could not finish the mental message sent to the elder as the mysterious Rider's teleporting spell caused him to clap his hands to his ears from the sheer force of the explosion of magical energy. The sound was deafening.
    I feel it too. Masters Eragon and Saphira are no more. Randen spoke to Merik, the dragon's great eyes staring blankly at the sky.
    Elysia who had continued to float where she were, in-tune with all the nature around her, suddenly sat up in a splashing frenzy. Her eyes wide open and her heart beating at an unbelievable pace.
    She had allowed her senses to extend as far as she could manage, and even then, she had felt them extending further as she became more in-tune with the planet itself. It was through that, and by extension, Rubei who was connected with her... that both of them knew that something was horribly wrong.
    "Rubei!" Elysia found herself shouting, not just mentally but physically, as nothing else mattered right now but getting to the source of these feelings... or perhaps a better explanation would be... the source where the feelings of everything living had started to lack... the place where a great many deaths were happening.
    Elysia sprang out of the crystal clear spring water and grabbed a nearby towel she had prepared, not even bothering to dress properly as she started running with her enhanced speed along side Rubei.
    She jumped up and landed atop the Dragon, riding her like one would a horse since the Dragon wasn't big enough to fly with a passenger yet.
    Elysia realised where they were headed... and when they got there, to the base of that massive tree...
    Elysia who tended to keep her emotions in check found tears pouring out of her eyes as Rubei let out a shrieking cry of a roar.
    ...At the base... Eragon... was dead, and not far off... lay the form of Saphira... also dead, laying crumpled on the ground.
    "This... This can't be.."
    ...But how? They were the mightiest of all the Riders and Dragons among us...
    Elysia looked around at the carnage around her and then dropped to her knees in front of Eragon's body and she screamed a tearful scream again into the sky... joined yet again by her Dragon, Rubei's shrill roar.
    "THIS CAN'T BE!"
    Airi Dropped her half-eaten apple in shock.
    "What's going on?" Jerrod wanted to know from her.
    "I think it's better if Randen told you." She shook her head while thinking, "Other riders vanished, this one's attacking us, and one of the masters is dead!"
    Evarinya gasped, clutching at her heart. Mizuiro growled mid-flight, flapping her wings to hang mid-air. It took Evarinya a moment to catch her breath again; the sudden, terrified, urgent voice that had cut into her thoughts and left just as quickly had startled her beyond belief. She could feel the tension in the air, the mental and physical on-edge, wariness of her dragon, the way Mizuiro's flight pattern, wing beat, and heart-rate changed... it was all wrong. After just calming herself, too, due to her worrying discussion with Eragon, it all suddenly went to hell.
    Already? Now? So soon, with no warning? she thought desperately, her hand on the hilt of her sword. Eragon-elda said we still needed to gather information, to find out what was really going on before acting... but... what's happened?
    We should speak with Master Risit... now, Mizuiro said, her tone scared and sad at the same time. I have a feeling that Shadeslayer and Brightscales are... in trouble.
    Go, Evarinya said quickly, readily drawing part of her sword as Mizuiro swung around back toward the large tree and clearing where they had just left from. She was thinking fast as they flew, her mind linked perfectly with Mizuiro through the tension: What could possibly be wrong? We're safe here, and I cannot think of any Rider or dragon nowadays that would dare disturb the peace we've worked so hard to create. And Eragon... I admire him above all others (besides Saphira, of course.) But whatever has happened has upset Merik and Risit greatly... can it be that...?
    No, Mizuiro interrupted smoothly. Do not think that, Eva... not until we know for certain.
    Faster, then, please, Evarinya insisted, and Mizuiro responded immediately, getting them back to the clearing within minutes. She was off of her dragon in seconds, her drawn completely drawn in the same movement. She stared across the way at Risit, her eyes suddenly filling with tears; she could see the answer to the question in her mind in his eyes. She bowed, making the proper greeting toward her fellow Elder, blinking profusely to clear her vision. Evarinya wasn't sure what to say, or how to say it, so she waited, weapon drawn, for the man in front of her to speak.
    Eira unstrapped herself from her dragon's saddle, landing not-too-quietly on the forest floor. She figured that Amaterasu had landed here, without words, because he had an idea of where her bow was. Why he hadn't spoken to her or even indicated he was going to land, Eira didn't know. I'll ask him later, she told herself as she drew one of her daggers and looked around the area. Now is not the time; we need to finish this now and get back to Master Merik first.
    Eira thought for a moment about where her bow could possibly be. Come on, now... think like the smart, strong, Garrowson that you are. Use the brains part of your skills now, and later on you can use your strength. Let's see... my bow's a hell of a lot lighter than the other Riders' swords... so, if it was magically transported here, the weight of the weapon is sure to determine where and how it lands? So, since my bow is lighter, it has to be above me. Maybe... in the branches of these trees?
    She glanced up, aware of Amaterasu watching her carefully with one eye. Eira was surprised that he wasn't speaking or even suggesting help at this point, but she wasn't about to break her concentration right now if he was going to be so... insolent for no reason. Growling under her breath in frustration, Eira swung her head to the side to flip her bangs out of her eyes and stared up at the branches of the trees above her. The sunlight barely broke through the thick canopy, blinding and shading her at different, immediate intervals. Eira sighed a moment later; she glimpsed an odd-shaped shadow above her, and knew right away it was her bow. The weapon was resting sideways between several large, overlapping branches about twenty feet above her.
    "Ama!' she exclaimed aloud, relieved and excited. "There it is! You were right!"
    The dragon snorted, not making another word or sound. Eira ground her teeth for a moment, and then sheathed her drawn dagger, grabbed either side of the nearest tree, and began to climb. She ignored the light scrapings of several stray branches on her exposed arms, neck, and face, continuing to work her way up to her bow. Once she had the end of the smooth, slender bow in her grasp, Eira let out a triumphant shout. She glanced down at Amaterasu, but he merely sat still, his tail twitching, his teeth slightly bared, glinting in the sunlight.
    "Ama, we did it!" Eira shouted down nonetheless, starting to get a little irritated at Ama; he was usually so different. What was on his nerves? "What's wrong with you?" Eira pried, still looking down over her shoulder at her dragon while she worked her bow loose from the tangled branches. "Just talk to-"
    But Eira didn't finish; her footing slipped in her present, awkwardly twisted position, and she felt her fingers slowly release her bow as she fell from her perch, rushing toward the hard forest floor below her.
    Joan quickly burst through several bushes as she finally entered the open field Orchid and her had landed on. The girl smiled as she took a couple of steps forward, seeing her dragon standing not too far away. She had her back facing Joan as she stared ahead of her, not bothering to turn around when she heard Joan call for her. The rider pounded her hand against the dragon's scales in an attempt to get her attention. "Hey!" Joan shouted, her brows furrowed as she placed her hands on her hips, staring up at the large beast. "Are you listening?"
    We better hurry back. Orchid lowered herself slightly so Joan could hop onto the saddle, who had quickly done so regardless of her confusion. Joan sighed quietly as she grabbed the straps; however, before she could Orchid quickly rose up into the air, causing Joan to nearly fall off the saddle. "Hey!" she yelled, tugging a bit on the strap to keep herself steady. "What was that for?!" She stared at the back of the dragon's head, hoping to get a response. When none came, she groaned loudly out of frustration, kicking her legs slightly at the dragon's side.
    Without another notice, Orchid dove down to the ground and spread her wings out, slowly lowering herself until her feet touched the ground. Joan removed the straps from her and jumped onto the ground, clenching her fists and turning to face her dragon. "What's going on?! You're acting-" Joan turned her head, seeing a dragon and a girl she recognized but couldn't remember either of their names. In front of them was a rather large tree she was able to recognize. She suddenly felt this uncomfortable feeling deep in her stomach, making her feel slightly nauseous. Not too far away was a dragon she easily recognized and that only made her uncomfortable feeling worse.
    She slowly made her way towards Elysia and Rubei, her own dragon following behind her. "H-Hey," she stammered as her breathing suddenly became heavy. The closer she got, the more she was able to distinguish what was in front of the two. "Is that...?" She quickly cut herself off and looked away, seeing it was actually Eragon's body laying motionless. Her lips pressed tightly together as she looked towards her dragon, who simply lowered her head and closed her eyes. Joan's looked around before looking down at Elysia, noticing the girl was crying. "Do you know what happened?" she asked in a hushed tone.
    "Our leader...Eragon was slain!" Merik shouted, quickly leaping onto Randen's leg before leaping once again to land on the saddle. "Stay close to me!" Merik called out to Airi and Jerrod. The tree where he knew Eragon had been was not far away. He and Randen took flight but before reaching the tree he spotted both Risit and Vanilor. The two were a short distance away from the tree but the others probably could not spot him due to the thick line of trees that separated Risit and his dragon from Eragon and Saphira. On mental command, Randen's tail lashed out and knocked over the trees so that they could land beside Vanilor.
    With his keen sight, Merik looked back at the base of the tree. On another side of it laid the small pile of bodies. Dead teachers along with sparkling fragments of what he knew to be the Eldunarí. "What happened?!"
    Risit knelt to pick up his fallen sword, blood dripping off the white edge of the blade. "That Rider...he bested both Eragon and I in combat. As well as the others..." Risit clutched his side and muttered several words of healing in the Ancient Langauge. His own wounds were healed almost instantly but he had to draw strength from Vanilor as he had none left to spare of his own.
    Evarinya gasped, her mind going blank when she saw the condition of Risit and all the other dragons and Riders in the clearing. She fell to her knees when she saw Saphira and Eragon; Mizuiro immediately wrapped the bulk of her tail around Evarinya, the growl that emmitted from her giant, clenched teeth both angry and sorrowful.
    "Someone explain this." The sentence was not a question, nor a statement, but a demand. She looked around to all present. Despite being on the ground with her sword held limply in her hand, Evarinya intended to use her authority as an Elder to get the information she needed. "Now."
    Eira shut her eyes, bracing herself for the nasty fall, expecting to have to heal broken bones, split skin, and damaged gear--- when something suddenly caught her after only a few feet. She blinked, twisted around slightly, and found herself staring at Amaterasu's giant eyeball.
    "Damn, you're fast!" she gasped. Ama had just caught her in his upturned claw. "How did you-"
    It was pretty obvious you were going to fall, Amaterasu cut in, though Eira could hear a little humor in his tone. Your footing was off the whole time.
    "Then why didn't you say anything?" Eira insisted, struggling into a more decent position. "I could have really gotten hurt! Come to think of it, why are you so moody all of a-"
    Grab your bow and let's get out of here, Amaterasu interjected yet again. Eira could sense a sudden change in his emotion again: from slight amusement and pride at saving her from a nasty fall to... anger? Panic? Confusion? Eira swore she could feel all three at the same time. What could possibly be scaring her dragon so badly that he wasn't speaking to her about it?
    "On one condition," she began seriously, holding the stare of his eye. "We'll talk... later... together. Okay?"
    Amaterasu was silent for a moment, and then nodded his head briefly in agreement. Eira swallowed a smile as her dragon lifted her up just a little higher so she could reach her bow. She secured the bow onto her back before climbing into her saddle and strapping herself in.
    What's the matter? Where are we-? Eira started the question, and then stopped; past the area of woods where they had found her bow, Eira could barely make out, in the distance, the form of at least one giant dragon... lying in a position that wasn't exactly natural. She did recognize Randen, Merik's dragon, and that was enough for her; if the teacher wasn't there for her to show she'd completed the task, what was the point?
    Don't worry, Amaterasu began. We'll be there in under a minute.
    No, Eira thought immediately. We should keep our distance for now; we don't know what's going on down there. Just stay in the air, above them.
    Right, Amaterasu agreed, and did just that.
    Well what do you think happened?! snapped Rubei, opening up mental communications with Joan's mind. But she quickly took control of herself and muttered softly to both her and her Dragon,Orchid. I apologise... We're in... shock.
    Elysia didn't make much attempt to cover herself better with the towel around her body, nor did she show much shyness either.
    She just continued to kneel in place, for once in her life... lost for words.
    In the past she had always had some witty retort for any situation... but now, words would not come. Only more tears.
    We do not know what happened... Rubei informed Joan and Orchid, trying to keep control and on top of the situation, showing a slight maturity for a Dragon of her young age. We just suddenly sensed... a big feeling of nothingness from this area which was filled with life not too long ago... it happened so suddenly... but then there was only... death.
    Elysia continued in her stead, "...We rushed over here, but by the time we made it. We only found this." her voice was choked, and to her ears, she didn't sound like herself. She couldn't even be sure she had just spoken. Everything felt abnormal and wrong. It was all too weird.
    "There's a traitor amongst us!" Merik shouted out loud so the others could hear him.
    Risit let out a low growl and turned towards Merik, speaking up before Merik could say anything else. "Don't you think I know that? I fought the Rider who killed Eragon! His face was hidden behind a helmet and his power...it was beyond my own! We need to go after this monster!" He looked over at Evarinya, his fellow Elder. "Eragon was stabbed before my own eyes in the tree. He did not make it far..." Risit tightened his hold on Islingr, his eyes quickly glancing over where his dead mentor and friend lay.
    "There's more than just that Rider. How could you have survived combat with such an opponent when those stronger than you have fallen?" Merik coldly spoke, pointing his now drawn blade at Risit. "Riders Murtagh and Arya were murdered not long ago! They were in Alagaësia, where you've been disappearing to for far too long without warning. Your actions are suspicious, Risit."
    "You dare accuse me of killing Eragon? Would you rather have me teach you your place, Merik!? I was the one chosen to lead this order when Eragon passed away! Your loyalty is to me now and I say we hunt down the Rider I fought."
    "Was that your reason then? To kill Eragon for power?" Merik shook his head slowly. "This other Rider you speak of was either some illusion of yours or another traitor!"
    Risit had grown tired of being accused by this time and lashed out at Merik, suddenly bringing Islingr's blade straight down at the teacher. The blow was stopped by the elf's own blade but just barely. Merik's own sword hovered just a hair's breadth over his face. Even though he was an elf, the long period of time Risit had spent being a Rider had enhanced his strength and speed to that beyond a normal elf putting the two at an equal footing. "You're not going to stir up any further trouble in my order."
    OOC: *Edits to make it easier to distinguish the two*
    DOUBLE EDIT: Silver looks the same as white. ;-;
    TRIPLE EDIT: There. Made Risit royal blue for the time being.
    "Sigh." Jerrod was tired, his day wasn't getting any better.
    "It's ok Jerrod, just be, well, at least kind." Airi told him.
    "I can't if I'm having a bad day."
    "Just try."
    "So Eragon's dead, is he?"
    "I guess so, if Randen says it, it's true." Airi shook her head.
    Jerrod looked up to say what was ahead of him and his rider.
    Orchid quickly stepped forward in front of Joan when Rubei snapped at her. Joan simply stepped back and looked down at Eragon's body. The both of them listened to everything Rubei, and Elysia said before Merik and everyone else showed up. Joan tightly clenched her hands into fists and pressed her lips tightly together, closing her eyes momentarily. She shook and lowered her head before quickly raising it and running her hands through her hair. Damn it. Joan looked over at Elysia, who was still by Eragon's body.
    Joan's brows furrowed as she quickly turned around towards Merik and Risit, keeping her hands into fists as she quickly walked towards them. "Hey! Knock it off. There's two dead bodies here and all you two can do is argue who did it!" She shouted towards them, motioning towards the two lifeless bodies. "Argue about it when nobody who's too devastated is around. I don't think Risit did it. Instead, figure out who did. Nobody else is blaming him so it seems you're wrong." Joan inhaled deeply and quickly turned away, heading off in the direction she and Orchid had come from. She wasn't sure how everyone would react to her outburst and she was already wondering if it was even necessary.
    OOC: I currently have no internet and I used my phone to post this. I can't really keep up with anything right now so yeah.
    "I tried, and it failed."
    "Then try again," Airi turned around, "You'll get better."
    "And Eragon?"
    Airi frowned, "That wasn't my fault Jerrod, but it's true, just stop talking about it for a bit."
    "Fine." Jerrod sighed.
    Name: Lona
    Gender: Female
    Age: 61
    Race: Elf
    Appearance: Here
    Sword Name: Sundavr (Will edit for sake of colour later)
    Info: A young (by Elf standards) girl adopted by a human family, far outside of the Elves usual forest home, since she was a newborn, she has been greatly upset by the passing of said adoptive family, who only had a single, now-fully-grown, child of their own, with whom she felt unable to stay with. She sees herself as an outsider no matter where she goes; she was not accepted by her home village due to being an Elf, she feels unaccepted in Du Weldenvarden due to not knowing anything of their culture. Because of this she is particularly quiet in most situations, though she is less hesitant about acting than she is speaking.
    Other: To the teachers it is unknown how much of the Ancient Language she has learned, as she speaks far too little to judge. Lona has a strong talent for memorization, however, meaning that she is actually a fairly fast learner.
    Personality: Somewhat outgoing and interested in learning, unlike his Rider. Unusually comfortable with communicating with people other than his Rider, most likely because of her quietness.
    Other: Is very close to the age of being able to breath fire, but not quite there yet.
    Rider
    Username: Bushy Brow
    Name: Faina
    Gender: Female
    Age: 62
    Race: Elf
    Appearance:
    [IMG][IMG]
    Sword Name: Nuanen (Means 'Beautiful' in the Ancient Language)
    Info: When just one year old, Faina's mother left the Elven people on a journey while heavily pregnant. Faina suffering from illness at the time and being of such a young age had to be left behind while her Mother left on her journey. That was the last time Faina ever saw her mother (not that she can remember her), and she knows not of the fate of the child her mother carried either.
    Faina grew up in Du Weldanvarden without a family while being checked on by the other elves around her. However, she's gained a feeling of isolation from not knowing any family and as soon as she was able, she spent her days living alone even though the elves around her still insisted on popping in every now and then to see how she was fairing.
    Because of her nature, she tends to shy away from contact as she is used to being alone. Although, regardless of this, she still will speak her mind when she wishes to and often be very blunt with people at times.
    When alone, she would often read a lot and study various texts about the land and it's language as well as practising her use of magic. Her knowledge of the Ancient Language is a bit higher than most Elves of her age, even though she is still considered to be very young.
    When a Dragon Egg found it's time to be ferried around Du Weldenvarden, Faina reluctantly agreed to try and see if she was it's true partner (reluctant because she truly believed it would never choose her).
    After that, her life changed as she followed after Eragon to train as a Dragon Rider, although her usual isolation habits still stayed true - Excluding her Dragon who was stubborn enough to persist until he formed a close bond with her. Particularly when he saved her life on one rather dramatic occasion.
    As well as reading and magic practice, Faina now often practices her use of swordplay as well and enjoys to go flying with Azul.
    Name: Azul
    Gender: Male
    Age: 2 years
    Color: Sky Blue
    Appearance:
    [IMG]
    Personality: As a male dragon, he holds a lot of pride in himself and his partner, albeit, not so much pride that it tips into arrogance. His bond at first with Faina was strained in a way. She did love him and raise him, but it was like she was almost scared to get too close to him because she had never had anyone in her life to get close to before.
    That changed when a particularly dramatic incident occurred and he ended up saving her life. Ever since then, they've been as close as a Rider and Dragon can be. Family in a true sense of the word.
    He can be pretty protective of his rider, and he also tends to try to spark a fuse and inspire and motivate her when she is down.
    One of his loves other than eating those rather tasty snails is to just go for a nice long flight with his rider upon his back. He's even content with just watching her read, or practice. As long as he is close to her, he feels he can be content with life.
    Risit lowered Islingr and looked away from Merik after Joan had shouted. "Killing you now would be a waste of my time."
    "You can't expect me to believe you. I'm sorry, old friend, but I must do what is right for this Order. You must be banished." Merik now pointed his blade at Risit as Randen moved to stand beside him. "Your disappearances have only given reason for us to distrust you. You have no alibi, do you?" Merik looked over towards the students nearby. He motioned for them to come by him. "You killed Eragon, Risit. You don't even have proof that you were his successor, do you?"
    'Merik...' Risit shook his head slowly and tightened his grip on his sword. "No. He had only told me in private." Risit stepped back and glanced briefly at the others. "I don't need to explain my actions to you or anyone else. If you're intent on pushing this I'll have no choice but to kill you." He also motioned for the students to come towards them, leaving them have the choice as to who they'd side with. Naturally, he believed they would all follow him. Though...given everything he had done...
    It was far more logical to follow him. Merik was not the one who had left Edoc'sil for extended periods of time in secret. Merik had not been the one who had been in line for Eragon's place--he had no reason to kill Eragon. "You wish to strike down the one person who demands justice? You know this won't end well for you."
    OOC: A bit shorter than what I wanted for a "revival post" but now's the time for the new characters to be introduced and for everyone to start taking sides. There's no wrong answer. Risit could easily be the good guy in this...or he could've stabbed Eragon in the back the first chance he had. Or they could both be evil. I WON'T TELL.
    A roar sounded in the skies, not far off, a sizable dragon, flew with great speed from the direction of the nearest desert, Brightscales! the dragon's voice barked into the minds of all around, circling the sky over Risit and Merik. Riders, tell me that my eyes lie! Kar-Gawen demanded, landing heavily in the grass several dozen meters from Rist and Merik, pale flames licking the inside of his sand-colored jaws. His claws cut the earth before him as he sat on his haunches, growling.
    Joan came to a halt and turned around, looking towards everyone that was still with Risit and Merik. She saw a dragon she wasn't familiar with and cocked her head, placing her hands on her hips as her eyes narrowed. "I probably shouldn't have snapped, huh?" she asked, turning her attention towards Orchid, who had been following behind. The dragon simply stared at her rider before looking away and towards the direction she and Joan were heading. "I guess so," Joan muttered, biting down on her lip as she looked around, spotting a tree a few feet away. Sighing lowly, she made her way towards the shade and sat down at the base of the tree, turning her head as she watched the group from afar.
    You do know they will probably see that you never left, right? Orchid asked as she laid down close to Joan, turning her attention from her rider to the group as well. "What are you talking about?" Joan leaned her head back and stared up at Orchid. "I'm not in the group so I did leave." Orchid huffed out and shook her head, which made Joan laugh in response. Leaning against the tree, Joan brought her legs close to her chest and rested her arms on her knees. "I just want to know what'll happen now. That's all."
    It was unreal to Elysia... Eragon and Saphira were dead... along with so many other innocent Riders and Dragons, and all these two teachers she was meant to be able to look up to (sorta) could do was argue and then clearly try to make the students choose sides. It was just too horrible. Elysia wasn't an emotional person, 'nor was she unstable or anything, but even this was just too much for her.
    Feeling the swell of emotions inside Elysia, Rubei took charge and opened a mental communication to everyone around her so they could hear. Are you heartless fools! Think about what you're doing! I don't care if you're our instructors or masters this second. Right now you're acting like infants! Rubei's thoughts and emotions of anger came across in her words, to be felt by all and emphasize her point. Eragon-Elda and Saph-... she caught herself... finding it painful to bring up what had happened, those emotions also coming through her link with everyone. They're dead... and all you can do is argue over who has done it! How absurd. The young Dragon showed no fear as she said exactly what was on her mind.
    Elysia was partially shocked at how Rubei had just conveyed everything like that in one go. But... at the same time... she felt pride in her partner, pride that somehow burst through all the other negative emotions.
    Rubei's tone calmed slightly, I am aware we need to make haste and take action... but for now, I feel we should make preparations to say our final goodbyes to the two that made everything we are today possible and to give our respects, as well as to all the others who have fallen today.
    ...Thank you. Elysia spoke privately to Rubei.
    It's okay little one... who had by this point ended her link with everyone so only her Rider could hear her again.
    ...I can't bel-,
    It's alright... you don't have to say anything. I know. Rubei moved over to Elysia and gave her a gentle nudge with her snout. Let's go and give you some dignity. It's best we let our Masters sort... 'things' out here... she said gently to her rider, letting her thoughts of compassion and love come through their link as best as she could, in order to try and bring comfort to the girl. Elysia nodded slowly. She pulled her towel tightly around herself and took a last look at Eragon and then over to Saphira before allowing herself to be led away by Rubei.
    ...Trying to make students pick sides after what has just happened... how distasteful. I'm only a hatchling and yet with all their years, I'm the one who-... It's just... There is a time and a place for everything, that's all. I would have thought they'd have more respect considering the circumstances. Rubei furiously muttered in her mind.
    Heavy wings forced their way through the air.
    The aura of death was detectable even from here.
    What the wild ones say is true then. came the thought-speak of a deep-voiced male Dragon, his words sent directly into the mind of his Rider and friend, Lona.
    Eragon-Elda is dead. Can you feel it?
    Yes. the girl atop his back responded simply, a faint sadness filling the air around her.
    The wild ones... they mourn loudly. she thought back to him, her mind filled with the various mindspeaks of the wild Dragons nearby.
    ...indeed they do. There may be more to this than we realise. the Dragon, Lazul, said as he began to turn in the air, aiming for a clear spot that would allow them to land safely.
    Hold tight, I'm not sure if this patch is large enough. he warned, before his four legs slammed into the ground, causing a relatively small tremor in the ground as he landed.
    It wasn't, was it? she said, as a young tree toppled over with the weight of a Dragon being put upon it.
    It would appear not.
She was the only one to survive the accident in the house she lived in. So she became and orphan and helped the church until she got her dragon of course :3
