What's the most famous genre in music

I think it would be rap.
Some ppl think rock.
Alot of people think country

I would have to pick r&b, hip hop, pop, old school rap, some rock, and jazz as my favorite genres...But I guess rap and rock would have to be famous or mostly liked by other people.

I think based on the radio and popular demand; pop,rap and rock are the most popular.
Although, I know a lot of people who really like alternative rock and techno, like myself.

 

Classic Rock most definetly.
You have to look at a wide variety of audiences to get an accurate definition of the word famous. Rock in general is pretty much something everyone knows. Classical Music is also something that falls under that category.

Rock most definitely. It's been around for so long and it's still very popular. It has so many sub-genres too that everyone has to like some form of Rock. I'd say Pop to, but the stuff they play on the radio isn't the good kind of Pop imo.

 

In terms of what's famous, huh? Well, from my point of view it seems like:

Rock, Rap, and Pop are the most widely liked genres of music.

Techno, hip hop, and country are the second.

I could go on with more genres, but I'll stop there. There are a few good genres of music in which are a bit neglected, in my opinion. But, what can you do?

 

rap? no.

Definetley pop, I mean theres always been pop since music regenerated after WWII. Pop has changed also to suit the younger generation of that time.

I tend like like techno the most, but I believe that the most famous genre in music has to be either rock or pop.
Those are what everything tends to revolve around. Take...say, Rascal Flats. Yes, they are a country group, but some of their music has a rocky rhythm to it.
Same with some hip-hip/r & b music. They tend to have a sort of pop-ish rhythm to them.​
