Honestly, I've found that the best way is looking up basic tutorials for things, then deviating from it. I don't think I've actually ever gone through a full tutorial, so yeah, my advice is just to experiment. :]

In celebration of me being close to being premmy, I thought I would commission a sig from you ^^.

Size: Default probably, although if something else fit better then so much the better.

Font: Something unobtrusive, but not unreadable. As long it is fits with the theme is the sig then anything goes.

Color scheme: I would like there to be a lot of focus on the more white/blue/aqua elements of the original image for example her hair and the glowing nodes on the armour. I would also like an aqua/white fire effect in the sig, possibly as a replacement for the red/orange background. The less of that visible (of possibly photoshop magic'd colour changed) the better ^^.

Border: If you feel as though it requires a border, then go on ahead. If the fire effect can act as a border and you think it looks tasteful then even better :).
