I walked up and down the beach, it was nice to be completely alone.
There were a lot of seashells in the water, as always.
Out of an old habit, I walked out into the water and started to collect some.
The wind was blowing and my feet were slowly becoming numb from the cold water.

I see a glimps of an memory running by my side.

It was myself as a child, running in the sand with my long, curly blond hair swaying with the wind.
I ran around collecting seashells to bring back home.

Back home, for you.

I smile at my stupid idea of sending a message in the bottle, thinking that it would somehow reach you.
It all made sense as a child.

I stopped collecting shells and looked at the ones I had in my hands.
Which should I keep?
I quickly sorted away the least pretty ones and noticed that one of the shells seemed to be a different kind than the others.

I smiled and thought that it would be a nice trade, but then I remembered.
You're not there anymore. Your green blue eyes don't smile at me anymore.
For the first time in what has felt like forever, I missed you.

I thought about how things were. When we still were a gang.
You two picking on me for being a girl, and me kicking your asses on Halo.
We swore that we would never drift apart. Oh look how that went.
