Skyler shrugged, grabbed two cups and poured coffee into them. "I have no idea. The guy and girl just walked in right after that stupid kid showed up. I don't know why, but..." She set down the filled cups and handed him his muffin. "They make me feel a little uneasy."
She scowled at Haru. Troublemaking kid, she thought angrily and started to scrub the counters furiously. There was a slight ding as the bell on the door rang, signifying that another customer had come in. She looked up and immedietly recognized who it was. "Hey," she said cheerfully.
Gritting her teeth, Skyler marched over to Haru. "Get your friends out from behind here," she asked as politely as she could. Since the kid seemed to want more coffee, she put out three styrofoam cups of it. "They're on me, just move them," she said.
Skyler gaped at the boy as he sat down with his coffee, as if having digimon were the most normal thing in the world. "See Sky?" a voice whispered from in the bag. "Some people aren't as paranoid as you." She took off the bag and put it behind the counter, eying Haru warily. It wasn't often that she got to see other people with digimon, so he was a somewhat welcome sight. She shook her head and started to clean the expresso machine.
Kudamon popped his head out of her bag and began to look around anxiously. "What is it?" Skyler asked it. He shook his head. "Nothing, I just thought... You should hurry up or you'll be late." After all these years, she knew that it was hiding something, but decided that it was right about her needing to hurry. She ran down the sidewalk and past a restuarant where there seemed to be a commotion going on inside. She made a sharp turn and made it into the coffee shop with a few seconds to spare.
I always thought the mix of Final Fantasy and Disney was a good thing; it had never been done before, so it attracted a large audience. Maybe the game should mature a bit to keep up with us, but the Disney aspect shouldn't be removed.
Five Years Later "Stay in there," Skyler hissed to her bookbag. A woman on the seat next to her gave her a puzzled birth before getting up and moving to another seat. Skyler sighed and stared out the window. She should've walked to work instead of taking the bus, but what was done was done. Since there was no one sitting near them anymore, Kudamon stuck his head out of the bag. "You keep that thing," he said, nodding to the digivice clipped to her belt, "right where everyone can see it, yet I can't get a few minutes of fresh air?" "It can pass as an mp3 player," she told him smugly. "The closest thing you resemble is a ferret, and I don't think many people carry those around in public." He looked somewhat insulted, but chose not to argue. "So, if I stay in this stuffy bag for the next five hours-" "You're the one that didn't want to stay in the apartment alone," Skyler pointed out. "Fine, yes. But if I'm good, we'll go an a little outing tonight so I can stretch my legs?" Skyler nodded. It was safer in dark of night for Kudamon and herself to go out together, rather than during the day where everyone could see him. "Of course." He nodded. He ducked back into the bag just as the bus stopped, and Skyler got off. ooc: yup, I'm pretty sure we're all on the same page.
"Of course it makes sense," the thing replied, as if it were immensely offended. It moved off of her lap and settled over on top of her bed. Skyler stayed seated on the floor, ten-million different questions running through her head. "Just what are you, exactly?" Skyler finally asked. "A friend," it replied with a yawn. "You don't need to worry your little head off with the other details." Skyler raised an eyebrow, but chose not to press the subject. "Then what should I call you?" It grinned at her. "I'm Kudamon." "Kudamon," Skyler repeated. "And I'm Sky-" "Skyler," Kudamon interrupted, grinning even wider. "I already know your name. It's very nice to meet you." Skyler glanced out the window and noted how dark it was already. "I'm going to bed," she announced. Kudamon merely shrugged. After slipping on nightclothes and turning off the light, she made herself comfortable next to Kudamon, who refused to budge from the spot on the bed. Oddly enough, it felt natural to have the thing so close to her. After a few minutes it seemed Kudamon had fallen asleep, and Skyler took the oppurtunity to look at it more closely. It didn't resemble any animal she knew, though it's face was fox-like. Around its neck was a gold collar she hadn't noticed before, and dangling from the collar was a small blue and silver device with a tiny screen. She reached for the object, but instantly Kudamon woke up and slid out of her reach. "What's that?" Skyler demanded. "A present for you," Kudamon said matter-of-factly. "Then why won't you let me touch it?" It tilted it's head to the side. "You're a bit young for it," Kudamon replied. "I'm eleven," Skyler said indignantly. "Really?" It looked her up and down. "You look younger than that. But no, I can't give it to you yet." "What is it?" Skyler pressed. "Why won't you tell me anything?" The creature let out a sigh. "I don't want to unload everything onto you at once," it said. "I like to do things gradually." It nestled beside her again. "Now, if what I remember about humans is correct, you have to get up for school early tomorrow. Go to sleep, and if I'm in the mood I'll tell you a little more about myself later." "Okay, Kudamon," Skyler said, relenting. She closed her eyes and went to sleep. ooc: It's getting late, so I'll add more later.
ooc: -_- Its short and doesn't make any sense, but it will have to do. An eleven-year old Skyler sighed in relief as she closed her textbook. She was done with her homework for the evening, but it had taken her longer than she had anticipated. Sklyer glanced out the window and noted the setting sun against the red sky. There's barely enough time to do anything, she thought in disappointment. Seeing nothing better to do, she pulled a box out from under her desk. In it was the laptop she had spent eons saving up for, and now was the time to boot it up. As soon as it was out of its box, she plugged in the machine so it would charge at the same time, then booted it on. It instantly whirred to life, and instead of the expected desktop there was a blue screen with a line of white text. She read the text to find out what the problem was. "Too much time on your hands?" she read aloud. What kind of joke was this? Did someone manage to hack into her computer already? No, she typed back, I don't have enough time, so I would appreciate if you would stop wasting it by messing up my computer, whoever you are. A few seconds later, another line of text appeared. Are you sure? If you're busy now, just think how much less time you'll have after I give it to you. You're not making any sense, she angrily typed back. Just give it back, she added, meaning that she wanted to use her laptop. For a full minute there wasn't an answer, but finally a reply came in. Okay, don't say I didn't warn you. Instead, the screen turned a blinding white. Startled, she held up her hand to shield her eyes and fell out of the chair. There was a loud thunk as something fell on top of her, and she sat upright to see what it was. Sitting in her lap and looking at her with an expectant expression, was a little white creature with a serpentine body. "Are you going to say something?" it asked, "or are you going to admire me all day?" "Y-you..." she stammered. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "You came out of my computer?" It nodded. "Aren't you a clever one. Yeah, I did. And since it was your computer, I guess that means I'm sticking with you now." "Okay," Skyler replied, tentatively touching the top of its head. "I guess that makes sense... sort of."
Ananda watched the human Ryan and one of the vampires walk out of the church together. Baffled by their behavior, she went deeper into the church. "I hope there are are some other more sane vampires here," she said loudly. There was no reply, though she hadn't expected one. They must have all gone out after the sun set, but I've already had my fill this evening... Yawning, she sprawled herself on a lone pew.
ooc: I figured that, but that's just the impression she has of him.
Ananda took an involuntary step back when she heard Ryan's reply. A hunter? She kept her eyes on the two of them.
Same here, but mostly because I know I would cave in at least twenty-four hours.
Ananda stood hesitantly next to the door of an old church, debating on whether or not to go in. She had arrived in New York only a few hours before and sensed the coven inside. Finally, she pushed down the hood of her coat and lightly stepped in. "Hello?" She spotted the figures and noticed one was armed. Maybe now wasn't the best time, she thought wryly.

I like this a lot; it has a sort of melancholiness about it that I love in poetry.
I haven't seen the movie yet, but it's nice to hear it was good. I read the book a couple years back and its one of my favorites, so I would hate to see it if it's sucky.
Yawning, Yuffie pulled out her social studies textbook and started to read the assigned pages.
Yuffie walked into the school, humming to herself as she scanned her class schedule. "Let's see," she said. "Social Studies first." She quickly walked down the hall and found the appropriate classroom.
