I don't think we will ever achieve perfect peace. No matter what treaties we may write, what world issues we solve, there will always be someone out there ready to start crap. But I don't think its good to get pessimistic about it and give up. We cannot achieve perfection, but if we strive for it, we can achieve excellence.
Hmm? We're talking about time-travel now? Someone should make a seperate thread about that. Well, I've been reading 'The Time Traveller' by Ronald Mallet, which features some good theories on time-travel. Time-travel to the future is possible, but we wouldn't be able to go back again very easily. The only way to go back in time is through some wierd complex thing involving rapidly rotating black holes and wormholes (or something like that), but a human could not possibly survive the journey.

Aliens almost certainly exist somewhere. But as previously stated, they likely won't be humanoid, or in any form we could comprehend. But no matter where-ever they are or how advanced, I highly doubt we will ever get any kind of contact from them. The distances are simply too great. Even if they had access to light-speed travel (Not possible, but if) it would take millions of years to reach us, by which point they will have run out of food/fuel/space and died on their ship. It amuses me sometimes to think of an alien on some planet asking the exact same questions.
