Ok, first, Osama has still not been captured... for many reasons. I have no doubt whatsoever that if the US really wanted to capture him they could. We have satellites that can track ANYONE! second, where did this all of a sudden switch from "osama and the twin towers!", to "saddam and liberation!". seriously, people completely forgot about osama bombing us and instead focused on saddam and how we had to go fight him because he had WMD (which he did not... we have had them for years) also, bush claimed that the war would be a quick one with few casualties and little money involved, but we're still at it. the casualties on both sides have been trmendous and the money loss had been outstanding! reports suggest that if this continues the US will soon have a national debt in which if we pay with the combined total money of the four most rich citizens/org. (bill gates and google among these) we would only cover the interest. (we've been borrowing money from china, among other places). i am a liberal, but do not think that being one clouds my mind. the power struggle in the world goes way beyond you and me. its been a battle that has been waged for years and human life, patriotism, and all the great stuff has no value in it. and the war right now is a power struggle. and the US and all those other countries are fighting without care for their people. you really need to open your eyes and see that. and while all politicians have their own interest in mind, some go to greater lengths than others to achieve their goals, and bush has gone completely over the top with the destruction he has caused. if you guys are really interested, checkout www.truthout.org.
i am a heshe... no, wait, wait! let me say that again. i am a girl. yeah, thats right. (did i mention that i'm also corny? )
Like Rena88 said, all holidays have been commercialized, though Christmas is the most so. By the end of November I was already sick of Christmas because of all the commercials on TV, or functions at school, etc., etc., related to it. And people have forgotten what it really is celebrating... though I do not agree with the Bible or any of that. Since I am not a Christian or any religion, I myself only celebrate "Christmas" because my entire family comes together during a time in which there is no work or school and we just spend the break with one another or visiting friends and family. As for the presents, well, those are just added incentive. I like receiving presents, but I don't like how overboard people can get with gift giving. And to tell the truth, the lights, decorations, christmas trees, caroling, and all of that.... well, I really don't like it. People who you don't even know, or even neighbors who never bother to speak to you are all of a sudden being cheery and nice. It just seems so fake and hypocritical.

After sipping her tea in the the empty kitchen, hearing every tick and creek of the castle in the silence of solitude, Vexen found herself in the most unlikely of places: outside Roxas's room. To think that the unsocial scientist was searching out a fellow member. In truth, she was lonely without Marluxia, whom she had not seen since their date. She wondered where he was for a moment. She was also without Roxas, whom was always a welcomed companion. As for the other members, they either seemed too caught up in their own lives or she just did not feel close enough to seek them out. So after knocking repeatedly on the boy's door, and even creeking it open and finding the room empty, she resigned herself to her room, defeated. All she could do now was sleep. She plopped herself on her soft bed, clothes and all, and was surprised at just how tired she was. It seemed as though the moment her head made contact with her pillow she was off to the land of dreams.
This was a great competition! Congratulations to the winners! Everyone did a great job! ;)
i have to give marluxia credit. he is one tough cookie. but i'm going to stick with axel because he's even tougher!
yes, that is miyazaki. he really is a genius! i've only seen howls moving castle, spirited away, princess mononoke, kiki's delivery service, grave of the fireflies, and castle in the sky. i'm still waiting to see nausicaa (sp?): valley of the wind and my neighbor totoro.
Vexen looked to Lexaeus with the answer to his question written all over her face. "What makes you think that I would know?" She shook her head and chuckled. "I think it would do you best to just track Luxord down and ask him." She did not wait for a response from the man and instead turned as if she were to return to her research. In reality she was left wondering about Luxord and his Xigbar plushie. The man had left so suddenly. She knew he was trying to hide something. Could he actually have feelings for Xigbar? She glanced back at the figure laying on the table and found this very hard to believe. But she did not want to concentrate on this. She opened a portal and was about to walk out. Before doing so, she turned to Lexaeus and said, "You can stay and watch over sleeping beauty over there." She smiled her soft smile. "Or not. I think he'll be fine either way." Then with that she walked out... ... and found herself in the kitchen. She needed somthing to help relax her. Preparing some sweet white tea she could not help but think, Boy, I miss Marluxia.
... well, that was not a very good riddle. i'm disappointed now. :(
I wouldn't say that its was the government directly, but I definitely think that the government, with their intelligence agencies and all, at least knew that something was going to happen. Then they weighed their options: it turns out that an attack like 9/11 would help them manipulate the public so they could go make war, so they let things just happen. Anyways, that's one theory but I'm not stucking to it. I really can't say for sure.
i like what Roxas said, though we will never really know. its interesting to think what would be beyond it if it did stop. nothingness comes to mind, but if not, what else? a parallel universe? maybe? but what if theres something completely different? something beyond our imagination and comprehension? anyways, just throwing ideas out there for the sake of interest and discussion.
Yes, David Bowie in that film is amazing!! <3 As far as Chaplin films go, I love The Kid, Modern Times, City Lights, and The Immigrant! I mean, there are many more because Chaplin was a genius! But if any of you have not seen The Last Unicorn then go and see it! It was one of my absolute favorite movies as a child. And speaking of childhood favorites, how about The Land Before Time and An American Tale? <3<3
your junior year in high school? well, there are pros and cons. First, colleges will like that youve had the experience of a different culture, but at the same time they may look at that year as a loss. Second, traveling anywhere is always a wonderful experience, though you are young and will probably have this chance again (most likely, be it on your own or with a program). Third, junior year is one of the toughest and one of the ones that colleges concentrate the most on, so you really want to impress them at this time and going away during that year could be detrimental for your educational future as far as grades and such go (though this is not always the case). Basically, this is a matter of weighing the good agaisnt the bad. I would personally not go. i would concentrate on my last two years in high school and work hard to make it into a good college and then see if the opportunity arrises again (though if you ever decide to go during college they say its best to wait until your sophore year in college). Anyways, i hope i was able to help you, at least in your thought process. if you do go, have fun. if you dont, work hard but dont overdo yourself! ;)
Wow! I am so happy for you. I've never been in a situation that parallels this one but I can imagine how utterly happy you must be! You know you're very lucky, right? Anyways, I wish you guys the best of luck! And, again, I am really happy for you! *hugs and kisses*
I loved the first Final Destination. The second one was not very good and I have not seen the third.
Yeah. The Cowboy Bebop movie was fantastic. I especially liked the opening. The music was fun and the animation was amazing! For those of you who have not seen it, go to you tube and search "cowboy bebop movie opening." It's worth watching. ;)
The struggle had left Vexen tired. She fixed herself a gl*** of chilled water from the sink in her lab. Sipping the cool drink, she leaned on the counter top. She could not return to her research now; she had lost concentration and was now in no mood to resume her work. Her eyes caught hold of Luxrod, who seemed to be mentally in another world. Suddenly, she rememered what she had seen in the nobody's room: he had saved a Xigbar plushie, had he not? That's strange. Luxord with a Xigbar plushie... why? Setting down her gl***, she made her way to the man. His eyes were closed as he leaned on the wall. "Luxord." Her voice was soft for she did not want to disturb Xigbar. Lexaeus glanced at the two so Vexen turned away from him. She did not want him to hear her. The man she was addressing looked to her, a bit started by her sudden interuption of his thoughts. "I was wondering..." Vexen struggled trying to find the best way to ask Xigbar her question. "Back in your room I thought I saw you... with a Xigbar plushie." The woman looked to him, awaiting his response.
I have a few songs that comfort me: Comptine d'Un Autre Ete (from the movie Amelie) Anything from Amelie Anything Miyazaki/Hisashi Charlie Chaplin's song from Modern Times Jon Anderson's Loved by the Sun (its from the movie Legend) And some songs from the band YES And there are a few others that I can't think of right now.
I'm not sure if this counts but I like Simple and Clean reversed. It jus sounds so interesting. But if that does not count then I like the opening song of KH when you're at the start menu.
