Hmmm, I'm pretty good with trial and error. Where did you get the brushes, how easy are they to install/use, and what can they do?

Ok, so I just got the latest version of Gimp around 2 weeks ago, and... I'm pretty much completely lost. I have never used anything remotely similar. The most complex program I use is Vegas, and for images, I use ms paint. I would LOVE it if anyone had some really good tutorials or links to them for the ABSOLUTE beginner with GIMP.

By good, I mean, using Youtube as an example, sound (a live person actually telling me what to do), well-aligned video (so the sound and video are synchronized), and informative for those who know absolutely nothing about the tools, layers, options, rendering, and artistry involved. For instance, like Montagical on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/montagical

    Poll for lulz.

Wow... I never knew about this movie. This has got to be the one anime (if you want to call it that - I do because of the japanese letters everywhere) that I actually LIKE. I will be interested in seeing if this movie can live up to the show. I was kinds hoping it would be animated, though. It might look better that way.

Statistically, the odds of a plane crashing (negating pilot error) is like 1 in a million. Pilot error is unlikely because the pilots go through a training process so rigorous, it reminds me of the military. In addition, no pilot is likely to panic when something goes wrong. In one study, it was found that major airline pilots' personalities are extremely similar to the stereotypical old west cowboys - never afraid, never flinching, and never panicking.

It's much more dangerous to drive, where anyone with a 50 I.Q. can have a driver's license, and those that have lower than that drive anyways, cause they can't understand that they are not supposed to. Also, with cars, there is no regulation while you are driving - only when an outside source (cop) sees you may be impaired (drugs, alcohol, cell phone). In a plane, the pilots are in constant contact with and monitored constantly by air traffic controllers.

Upon further reflection, I think that the Internet collapsing might make for a very entertaining fiction story. I highly doubt, however, that even an uber-terorist-hacker could bring down the onrushing beast that is the internet, as stated in my last post.

Really? So... human sacrifice (Native American, early Egyptian, early Mesopotamian, Baal), animal sacrifice (every ancient religion, Judaism), rituals honoring inanimate objects (the Sun, the Moon, nature spirits), etc etc, are better to you than Christianity? I admit, Christians as a whole can be violent, destructive, and intolerant, but if the ancient religions still existed, they would be much worse.

Christianity has some very high, good moments and some extremely low, base ones. For instance, my nation (the USA) was founded by people who, if nothing else, claimed to believe in the Christian god. However, the Crusades wiped out most of Jerusalem and large portions of Constantinople. However, remember the constant warring that occurred in ancient times? Religiously based.

In North America, the fighting was less bloody, but still religious. Someone would have a dream of where he could find some good stuff to raid (horses, etc), organize a war party, and take it. In Central and South America, nations there would raid villages and towns to obtain captives to be sacrificed. One sacrifice ritual alone killed over 70,000 captives in a week. Slave raids occurred frequently with the ancient Egyptians. The Greeks and Romans believed that heir gods made them better than all other people. There are countless other examples, but I do not know enough about them to talk about them.

Well, way back in the day (Victorian Era), it really WAS an insult to be called "gay", "bugger" (both to be gay, and to engage in gay secks), etc etc (thereby changing the meaning of his words every time Jack Sparrow says "bugger" in the Pirates series), despite the fact that a great many of the rich and powerful were, in fact, if not totally homosexual, at least bi. Now, the language has changed from "gay" meaning "homo" to "gay" meaning "stupid". I guess that's just the evolution of language.

Sorry for the repeated comments. I keep coming up with new and interesting tidbits, but they always come to me days apart.

    Hooray. =]

How old are you? If you are not old enough to legally be on your own (16, I think), then tell them that and threaten them with legal action (BEWARE: This may backfire). If you are, then tell them that you are gonna be just as immature as them and go set the couch on fire or something. I'm sure they will acknowledge you THEN. All sarcasm aside, though, if you are still living at home, start to do whatever you want until they notice you again. I think that might work rather well.

Thank you! Quoted for truth and win. If there were other alternatives that didn't make me sound like a middle-schooler, I would use them.

Not trying to belittle what they are doing, but that is pretty typical of middle and high schoolers, especially the jocks/generally athletic ones. They see an opening, and they take it. Without remorse. Just give them no openings, and they can't do anything to you. I'm not saying to close yourself off, just to seem not to care what they say. When they see that avenue is no longer open to them, they will stop or move on to something else, which you can then start the process all over. It also helps if you can gain selective hearing, so you can just listen to something else or your own thoughts whenever they start talking to you.

In addition, try to find some obvious superiority over them. Are you smarter than them? Probably, from your description. So just remind yourself that one day, you will be able to make 6 figures guaranteed, whereas they will hae to struggle and fight to make any kind of guaranteed money (pro sports is another issue - like 1% of high school athletes make it in the pros).

If you're a woman, it could be hormones. They can do that to you. Or maybe depression if you're not... I'm not entirely sure. Some days, I can wake up pretty crappy and almost cry at the drop of a hat (well, at the first sad thing I hear).

Well, I don't say it everywhere... Like my English 12 teacher in high school said: we have diferent sets of grammar rules and manners depending on who we are with: bosses, one set. Parents, a different set. Firends, another, internet forums where we can't get beat up, another, etc etc. Trust me, I'm a lot more crude with my friends.

But we are getting off-topic. Let's get back to hating Youtube, please.

That is more of a consolation than an actual fact. It's meant to make the weak, downtrodden people feel better. Speaking as one of the weak through all of high school, it doesn't really work.

I had to cultivate an attitude of indifference to everything anyone said or did, and it took till senior year to do. At the same time, I became so weird that no one who talked to me understood a word I said, and that persisits to this day (second semester junior in college, FTW). That, in my mind, helps a lot more than platitudes. If no one can get inside your head enough to figure outhow to insult you, they are a lot less effective. The one time someone did actually beat me up, the school sued him, and no one tried again.

My favorite was (and I'm not kidding here) when I thought Goofy was dead. I literally jumped up and screamed "YEEEESSSSS!!!!!!" Then I found out he wasn't really dead, and nearly broke my TV.

If we discount extreme reactions, it would have to be all the cutscenes in the time when the huge battle was occuring in Hollow Bastion. I've always had a weakness for large-scale battle, war, and destruction. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be enough literature that looks long-term for too long.

If we count FM+ in here, I would have to say Birth By Sleep (the FM+ secret Ending) would be my favorite. My other weakness is history. I can never make up a story without making up about a 10,000 year backstory, lol.

Well, the size is just a growth spurt associated with puberty, so that is realistic... I went through just about the same amount of growth in about 6 months when I was his age.

Voices can also deepen while going through puberty, although to make it realistic, they needed it to crack, lol. I never noticed the voice, though, since I played KH2 first.

I did, however, notice the voice change in Re:COM English - a 19 year old's voice from a 14 year old's body... kinda creepy at first.

And the face... is just explained by the programming. Again, never noticed this since I don't spend hours (or any time at all, really) studying his face... lol

Since Namine doesn't really exist (part of Kairi, after all), and she seems like a heartless (no pun intended) b*tch (manipulating Sora like a depraved puppet master, and continually insulting roxas, even as she was trying to help him: "You were never supposed to exist.. Roxas"), I say kairi. Besides, no matter how much you hate her, you cannot ignore the simple fact that in the first game, Sora's only goal through most of it was to save KAIRI. Not Namine (who didn't exist yet) or Riku (who he thought was safe or at least able to take care of himself until Hollow Bastion), but KAIRI. And then, once she gets lost in KH2, he gets all depressed; even more so than when all he had to do was find Riku.

And let us not also forget that the only reason he liked Namine in CoM was not because she made him like her (even after she admitted it, he still liked her... somehow), but because she reminded him of KAIRI.
