The old man just kinda stared at her fearsome spikes. Stupid! "That barrier wasn't for me to hide behind. It was to keep you from getting yourself killed. Cute." Oldy plainly stated as he gestured to the girl's display. "But you're wasting your strength by making a show of this."

She gave him a derisive snort and readied her stance. "I think you're the one who's running out of strength Grandpa!"

That white - haired guy that wasn't much older than her seemed to enter the room at that. Good! She needed more people to destroy. He waved at her and she just rolled her eyes. "Hey, welcome back." He then pointed at the old guy and said, "and you see, while this man might look aged its not a good idea to judge by appearances. For instance, Jo looks really timid and shy and stuff, but get on her bad side and bam! She strangles you. So you see, appearances aren't everything."

"Tch. He's all sick and dying from Hellfire disease. He's not even an opponent worth battling. Another day in that condition and he'll be dead without my assistance. Grandpa isn't worth my miraculous skills." Her overall sense of superiority was shameless and held no bounds. The only that was even somewhat worthy of fighting her was this guy. However, she wasn't really even supposed to fight them, just lure them out. Everything would be easier outside! But Mali didn't need easy! Mali was better than that. Easy fighting was for the weak. She was not weak. It was time for real fighting. The spears were thrust out of the ground and rotated until they were parallel to the floor. With one wide grin, they went flying forward at the two men.

Logan had awoken about a couple of minutes before they landed in Asia. Yet another place that he's never been too and would walk around in to take in some of the sights. Unfortunately this wasn't exactly a good time to do that. As per usual when it came to them ended up in a different country, finding the angel was first on their to do list. Following the lead of the compass, they ended up at another school. Now considering the diversity of their group, just walking blindly into the school wouldn't work out well. After all when they got the Spanish kid, Brandon was the one who went into the school.

"So, as we obviously all can't go into there at once, any volunteers to go track this angel down?"

"I'll do it." Logan said. Even if he was obviously not from here, someone had to do it.

Brandon was surprised that Heinry was dying of Hellfire disease. So that's why he looked so sickly all the time!...What was hellfire disease? Was that like some sort of new STD found? Maybe keeping Heinry and Eris in the same place a big no no after all. Regardless, Heinry was gonna be dead soon if they didn't do something. Malo kind of made that a moot point anyway, by instantly attacking with her black spear things, so it's not like he could do anything about keeping Heinry away from death via that disease thingy at the moment. Not to mention that Malo was a big braggart. Not all that adorable as her appearance would lead one to believe. Regardless, Brandon knew it was time to work, and while he didn't know much about what he was defending, it was gonna be defended.

Calling Vis Vis into his hand almost instantly, it appeared to take a really different appearance than before. Rather than being the regular long sword that it was, this blade was more thin and serrated across the edge. Using this serrated blade, Brandon fired off a lightning bolt from each tip to completely destroy the black smoke spears coming at him.
"Well then," Brandon's face lit up as he started grinning towards his opponent. "Guess we'll just have to see which of our skills is more miraculous." The blade shifted back to being a long sword and Brandon basically just fired a lightning bolt out of it right towards Malo.

The sudden female voice entering the room made Caius jump, quite surprised to have seen Cal just immediately enter the room. "C-C-Cal?!" Caius stuttered as he watched the girl walk up to him. Frozen from the sudden shock of her entering the room like this, Caius could only watch as the girl he admired suddenly sat right next to him.

He couldn't say anything and was a mess from all the nerves, but immediately what happened next made everything worse. His eyes widened and his face turned red immediately as she rested her head upon his shoulder. "I-I-I...UM...ERR.." Caius stuttered. This was all too sudden, too foreign, too bizarre. He had never expected this from Cal, it was just too strange for him to see her rest her head on him like this.

He needed to calm down, he needed to act cool, he needed to see if this was some sort of joke, but this was all impossible the mere moment she pointed out the box. "I-ITS NOTHING" Caius yelled out unable to control his nerves. After yelling that, Caius closed his eyes and let out a sigh, trying once again to calm himself. All of this just felt too odd...

Soren glanced down at his bloodied hands and took in a deep breath. Spending both night and day in the training room had done more good than he initially thought it would. It seemed like he still had room to grow in the depths of Hell. With a short nap whenever he grew too tired to stand he managed to keep from overexerting himself and losing his powers again.

Drops of blood gathered at his knuckles before levitating off the already healed skin and falling to the ground. He drew the mirror shard from his pocket. Mali had not returned and he was beginning to wonder if she had been killed. In moments an image appeared. Mali was in an old--damaged--building of some kind with two other people. They seemed to be fighting. One of them was a boy and another was an older man. Well, the man wasn't old but...he seemed weak. Soren blinked, wondering who the man was. He seemed familiar somehow...and the more Soren looked at him, the more he saw a little resemblance between himself and the man. He shook it off and returned his attention to Mali. She had better control over the mist than he thought. Not as good as me. Soren smirked but even his lighthearted thought quickly turned dark.

She was fighting angels under Lu's command no doubt. That only meant he would have to fight Mali if she ever tried stopping them from running. All he wanted was for them, the nephilim, to stay together. He would fight Lucifer himself it it meant keeping his promise but if Mali still chose to abandon them... They were his family and by letting everything come to this made it his fault. "If I can't keep us together how can I protect them?"

Caius stuttering was normal, but still cute. Cal bit her lip and watched as he panicked further over the present. "I - IT'S NOTHING!" he yelled uncontrollably.

She chuckled lightly and pulled away from him. Cal reached over his lap to pick up the box before he could take it away. "Come on now. After receiving such a great present like the locket, I'm really curious as to what's in here. Who's it for?" She cocked her head up, her hair falling off her shoulder, and looked at him quizically. Her hands wrapped around the box and she leaned back into her spot. She smiled up at him triumphantly, having obtained the box.

Cal ran her finger down the side and thumbed at the corners. "I mean, if you really don't want me to look at it, I won't..." she trailed off.

Cal wandered down towards the one room Soren was bound to located. It was the only place anyone could ever find him, especially these days. She pushed open the door and wandered inside. "Soren are you in -- oh, there you are." Her red eyes landed on him, blood - stained and battered. She sighed and crossed the room, kneeling down next to him. "You're gonna wear yourself out like this. You should really take a break. At this rate, you're gonna kill yourself before anything can happen." Cal brushed some hair out of his face. She gave him a gentle smile, but inside, watching him work this hard was killing her.

Cal wet her lips and rose to her feet. The locket hung at her throat, bouncing against her chest. "Will you at least take a break to eat something with me?" She brought out a couple of sandwiches and sat down properly on the Training Room floor. Soren spent more hours here than she could count. It was surprising that he hadn't just pushed his bed all the way from their room to this one so that he would never have to leave.

Caius just continued to be frozen, but all just felt to strange, it felt far too good to be true. He glanced up at Cal as she suddenly reached over him and immediately tried to reach out in vain. In the end she had gained his box, his present. He didn't wish for her to open it, not like this.

He stared at her as she held his box and looked away. "U-um...its for Azrael" Caius said calmly still looking away. He wasn't ready to give her the present, even though its been completed and everything. He wasn't prepared, and it just didn't feel like it was right to give her now. "Say Cal, when I gave you that locket...how did you feel that day? did you get the music to work like I told you to?" Caius asked.

Caius seemed afraid to make eye contact. She kept her gaze on the box, not wanting to make him any more nervous than he already was. "U-um...its for Azrael."

Oh. That was a bit disappointing. She smiled up at him anyway before returning to the box. Her fingers clasped together around it as it rest in her lap. "That's awfully nice of you to make him something."

"Say Cal, when I gave you that locket...how did you feel that day? did you get the music to work like I told you to?" Caius asked.

A soft smile spread on her lips and she looked away, her eyes focusing on the chalkboard. "I loved the locket. It's perfect. Every time I look at it, I think of you." She turned back to face him and reached for her neck. There was nothing to be found hanging around her throat and her expression flashed to disappointment for a brief moment. "I guess I forgot to put it on today." She gave him another sweet smile and ran her fingers through her short blonde locks.

Fighting against the zombie things she had heard about in the news for training was a little more than jarring, though she understood that they needed the newbies in the group to get stronger. It's been a couple of days since they got there and she had figured out a few things about her powers. First and foremost was that she discovered her ability to create barriers. While she originally thought that barrier creation was only good for defense, she quickly learned that it could also be used offensively. During the course of her training, she had learned to use her barriers on her weapon to extend her effective attacking range. Not only that, she could wrap a barrier around her hand and increase her punching power while saving her fists from any actual damage.

At the moment, it seemed like someone got a little reckless and got themselves injured. It didn't seem to be too serious, which was good. Nobody's life was in danger of being lost. She relaxed nearby, playing around with her recently discovered powers. In her palm, she tried to make a ball-shaped barrier. The one she produced was about the size of a tennis ball. She began to wonder how big she could make barriers, and how stable they would be. It dispersed as she lowered her hand and tried to create a wall barrier in front of her.

The barrier stood tall, though it didn't seem all too reliable since people with functioning brains could easily just walking around it. Still, it would work as a quick defense against something that was incoming. The barrier disappeared as she pulled out the wand she had gotten earlier. Everyone in the group had them and they could change the shape of it to whatever weapon they wanted, it seemed. It changed into a combat knife in her hands as she admired the simple beauty of it. She wondered if these things had names or something like that. It seemed like something angels would do. Well, she would find out if it was really that important. She just stayed back and watched as the healing process happened.

For some reason when Soren read Cal's speech text it was rainbowy but he decided to ignore that because he figured it must have been a girl thing. It hadn't been the first time she had came to see him in there but nonetheless he tried to fix himself up nervously when she walked over to him. Cal made an attempt to straighten out his hair causing Soren to put his hand over it when she was done out of embarrassment. "I'm alright. I can take a break when everyone's out of here."

He watched as she pulled out some sandwiches and offered to eat with him. "I'm not hun-" His stomach growled. Betrayed by his own body, Soren gave up and sat down to eat. "I..." He wanted to tell her everything he had been thinking, from the situation with Mali to--well--everything else. "I don't think Mali's going to come back to us. Not even for you." The thought of a sister turning her back on her only sibling disturbed him. He would never leave Anna behind and he knew she would never leave him. "I could try to drag her back but she'd only side with Lu. If we try leaving again there's nothing stopping her from trying to get in our way and..." He swallowed. "I know she's your sister. I'll do whatever it takes so you don't have to lose her but I'm not sure I can even do anything about it in the end."

Soren sighed and looked down. "I've spent so long trying to become strong and yet I'm terrified of losing anyone. Even Mali."

"I don't think Mali's going to come back to us. Not even for you." Soren's words cut like a knife, but it was expected. Mali wasn't with them. She wanted to be like the Dark Angels. The only way the could stick together without losing her twin was if they sided with the Dark Angels as well. "I could try to drag her back but she'd only side with Lu. If we try leaving again there's nothing stopping her from trying to get in our way and..." He swallowed, "I know she's your sister. I'll do whatever it takes so you don't have to lose her but I'm not sure I can even do anything about it in the end."

Cal kept her eyes on the sandwich. She couldn't bring herself to eat. There was a knot in her stomach just thinking about it. What if they ended up having to fight Mali at some point in time? Would one of them have to die? She didn't want her sister to die, nor any of the others. They were all very important to her.

Soren sighed and looked down. "I've spent so long trying to become strong and yet I'm terrified of losing anyone. Even Mali."

She looked up at him with sadness in her eyes. "Me too. As much as it hurts, I think the lines have already been drawn." Cal nibbled forcefully at the sandwich. She wasn't sure she could even get it down.

    They ate in silence.

It was excruciating, but there wasn't anything she wanted to say about it. She hadn't come here to talk about Mali. Cal had been watching Mali constantly so that there would be no need to talk about her -- to worry about her. "Hey Soren," she finally muttered, giving up on her sandwich, "I've missed spending time with you. We haven't, ya know, been alone together since before we left." Cal cleared her throat awkwardly and looked off towards the large doors across the room.

Caius continued to look away, unable to even look at the girl anymore. His body felt warm, as the temperature began to grow further with each and every second that had passed. She had put away the box, but this did not change anything for him in the slightest. "Sorry for bothering you about this...but I want to know how you felt that entire day after I gave you that locket...it was a special day after all..." Caius said thinking back to that day.

"Caius, you're never a bother. After you gave me the locket, I felt grateful and appreciative because I know how much work you put into it and that it was a difficult day for you. It was a special day because you're special to me."

His eyes closed and his fist clenched as he heard her speak once more. "yeah...I-I'm guessing you must have noticed how hard my face turned red" Caius said with his usual meek voice.

"You seemed pretty uncomfortable. You shouldn't though. I still don't have anything to return the favour with."

"I knew it...." Caius said softly after hearing Cal speak. He calmly rose to his feet and faced Cal with a serious stare "I knew it...Cal would never lie to me...You are a liar..." Caius said distastfully. There was no stutters, no nervous shivering. Caius stood strong as he stared at the one he considered a fake.

Soren eyed the blonde as she stared sadly at him. The best he could do to comfort her was promise to do his best to bring Mali back. If that failed, he could at least be certain he would be able to get them out of Hell. It wasn't fair on her or any of them but spending time brooding was just time wasted. He had to be strong. They had to be strong.

He looked down at the sandwich wondering when half of it had already disappeared. Soren figured he must have been more hungry than he thought. As he absentmindedly continued to eat Cal spoke up telling him that she missed spending time with him. To this Soren looked away and scratched his cheek. "I'm sorry. I've missed you too. A lot more than I'd admit to anyone else." Soren looked back at Cal. Considering everything that had happened with Mali, he felt something needed to be said. Not about her but--

"I won't leave you. You, Anna, and Caius are all I have. We're going to get out of here." He faintly smiled. "I wouldn't lie to you. Unless it was about being hungry." Soren glanced down at his empty hand where the sandwich had once been. He looked Cal in the eye. "I'll make everything alright. I promise."

That Brandon guy summoned his own weapon -- some weird serrated sword thing. It was a little impressive, but she could do that too if she wanted. She didn't! Using this serrated blade, Brandon fired off a lightning bolt from each tip. His stupid sword disintegrated her spears. Cheater! He would pay for that. "Well then," Brandon's face lit up as he started grinning towards her. "Guess we'll just have to see which of our skills is more miraculous." Obviously it would be her's, to even consider otherwise was ridiculous. The blade shifted into a long sword and Brandon basically just fired a lightning bolt out of it right towards Mali.

She held out both her hands directly in front of her body, the knife pressed against her palm, and a wall of mist shot out like a shield in front of her. "You're gonna have to try harder than that stupid!" The bolt of electricity ricocheted off and took out a wall sconce on the west side of the sanctuary. It came crashing to the floor with a loud shattering noise. "That was fun. I hope you don't expect to win like this." Mist crept through the cracks in the sanctuary floor, wiggling its way towards Brandon's feet. "Catch!" Mali sent the knife flying. She had great aim when it came to throwing knives. She briefly remembered startling the others in the Training Room after she had returned from her last mission and stuck the knife perfectly. It went soaring smoothly through the air. A smirk spread on her lips and the mist shot up, tangling itself around her opponent's feet.

Cal was smiling brightly at Caius when he started to mutter something to himself. "I knew it...." he said softly. He calmly rose to his feet and faced Cal with a serious stare. "I knew it...Cal would never lie to me...You are a liar..." Caius said distastfully. There was no stutters, no nervous shivering. Caius stood strong as he stared at the one he considered a face.

Her red eyes widened and she looked at him with a mixture of confusion and appall. "Caius what are talking about?" she asked while rising as well. The present box was set down carefully on the table as she did so. "Why on earth would you call me a liar?" She couldn't understand what she had said that would make him act this way.

"Tell me....Tell me how you got that locket!"

"Why are you shouting? It was given to me by Anna from the both of you." Cal took a step back from him.

"Then why did you say I was uncomfortable when I wasn't even there?"

"You seemed uncomfortable when I thanked you for it later?"

"You never did...those two days...were the worst days I ever felt..."

Cal sighed. She gave Caius a light pat on the cheek before taking another step back. "I suppose it can't be helped. It looks like you were smarter than I thought." Her shape changed as she spoke until the image of Calamitosum was completely stripped away. "Well that was fun while it lasted. Later cutie." Manitos gave Caius a small wave before heading back to the door, unlocking the handle, and disappearing out of the classroom.

Soren looked away and scratched his cheek. "I'm sorry. I've missed you too. A lot more than I'd admit to anyone else." He looked back at her, but she failed to make eye contact. I promise."

She smiled up at him meekly. "You don't have to take it all on on your own. We're all here to support you Soren. I shouldn't have to keep telling you that. Together, we'll make everything all right." She leaned forward and gave him a kiss on the cheek before getting to her feet. "I won't keep you from the rest of the training, but you gotta take more breaks or you'll kill yourself at the rate you're going." Cal gave him a scolding smile before heading for the door. When she reached the corner, she noticed something odd as Manitos walked triumphantly down the hall. Cal immediately had a sinking feeling after what happened in the Hall of Mirrors. She rushed forward and flung the door to the classroom open in a panic. "Caius, Caius are you all right?" she asked him frantically. He was there, but for all she knew, Manitos could have sucked a good portion of his life out of him.

Soren nodded slowly at Cal remembering she had told him this before. It was difficult to accept that they could help too, that it wasn't just him willing to fight. He smiled and rubbed his cheek after she kissed him, the second time now, before she got up. She was right, getting himself killed was not going to do them any good. Before he could speak to her once more she left leaving him to follow after her.

Cal vanished into the classroom after having seen someone else walk out. As Soren went after her he paused, looking over at who was walking away. The scent was all too obvious for him. Demon. Whatever Manitos was doing could not have been any good. He entered in behind Cal to find Caius there. "What happened!?" Soren looked off to where the demon had vanished to. Whatever it was, it was cause for concern with how Cal was acting.

    WEARING OOC MOOD
Day: 76 Location: School Interaction: Logan

Min sat at her window seat, watching as the strange foreigners walked onto the school property. She was in the middle of English class, but the girl was already exceptionally fluent at the language. She wondered what might bring a bunch of white people to her school. Maybe they were getting an exotic new transfer student? That would be cool. Her teacher called on her and she was pulled back to the goings - on in the classroom. Min beamed brightly and answered the question in perfect English. Her teacher seemed a little surprised to realize she had still been paying attention. They were always surprised to realize that she had the answers when she was spacing out.

She reached into her desk for her journal on paranormal investigations. There were notes all over the pages about the strange happenings in the world. The Mandrin characters were accompanied by little doodles of monsters and mythical creatures. She had weather reports jotted down and newspaper clippings stapled everywhere. Min brought the notebook everywhere. No one ever wanted to see it, no matter how much evidence was gathered there, but she knew it was true. There was definitely something going on. She knew it so strongly that it was all she could ever think about anymore. It consumed her waking thoughts and her dreams were filled of thunder clouds and magical worlds -- good and bad.

At times she felt like she might be losing her mind. Her hand shot up, catching everyone's attention. Teacher, may I please be excused to use the bathroom? she asked in her most respectful manner. There was a disgruntled nod to the clock. Oh. There were only a few minutes left of class anyway. Yeah, she could wait. The side of her that was all about the paranormal kept nagging at her that those people she saw outside were not here to enroll in the school system.

Her English teacher let her leave five minutes before everyone else so that there would be time between classes. She had two more before the end of the day. Min packed up her things quickly, and slung the bag over her shoulder. She hurried out of the room and made her way through the halls in search of those people.

Smack! She rounded the corner, straight into an unfamiliar figure. Min cursed in Mandrin and looked up to see one of the Westerners directly in front of her. Pardon me, I wasn't watching where I was going. She wasn't always the most observant, especially when in a hurry. This time was no different. Min straightened out, noticing that her notebook had fallen open on the floor. She dropped to her knees to scoop it up quickly and tucked it under her arm in embarrassment. Her fingers ran through her long brown hair, draping it over her left shoulder. Are you part of that group wandering about? She wasn't even sure if this person spoke English, but it was a safe bet, right?

For the first time, Caius Aster felt a true desire to kill. The woman that dared to take the form of the one person he truly cared about, for her to stain her image like that, Caius would never forgive her. She could do whatever she wanted with him, but to use Cal like that was something he just couldn't stand. He wanted to make her pay, but even knowing she was the demoness, he still could not do it. She had taken the form of Cal, and he could never attack Cal.

Manitos left and all was silent in the room. His legs shook slightly from all the stress he had received from this encounter. Even though he figured it all out, the whole event still had some impact on him. He turned towards the present and stared at it, but this only brought back memories of that demoness playing with it in Cal's image.

Before he could return to his seat his eyes widened as the sound of the door was opened with a loud bang "C-Cal?!" Caius said in shock. How could he tell that this was the real Cal? He took a step back in fear when he thought about this, but as he stared at her he noticed how much of a panic she was in. It was the same caring Cal that he knew, and he wouldn't let what happened deter his thoughts about her. "I-I'm fine" Caius said scratching the back of his head with a smile. With that said he walked towards the girl, but with his wobbly feet he only tripped and fell to the ground "oww...e-excluding this moment" Caius said with a small quite chuckle.

"C-Cal?!" Caius had been startled by her flinging open the door. She didn't mean to startle him, but that was a positive reaction. It meant he still had energy. He hadn't been drained. "I-I'm fine." Caius said scratching the back of his head with a smile. With a single breath, relief flooded out of the Nephilim. He was okay. She just overreacted from the sight of Manitos. Caius started towards her, but tripped over his own feet, falling to the ground. "Oww...e-excluding this moment." He laughed, and she couldn't help but chuckle along as well.

"Ever the graceful one you are, but I'm glad to know you're okay." She bent down to help him up as Soren came walking in behind her.

    "What happened!?"

Cal dusted the both of them off and her hand unconsciously wrapped around the locket. "Well it would seem Mister Clumsy here fell down after I startled him. Everything looks okay though." She didn't exactly want to explain this whole thing with Manitos, but Caius was sure to bring up whatever went on in this room. When he did, she would have no choice but to explain the situation. "We should all head back to the room. I'm sure Anna's lonely." Cal slipped her arms through both of theirs', turning to head back out of the classroom.

Soren looked back towards the door once more. It couldn't have been nothing. Not when a demon was involved. Soren sighed out and decided to bring it up another time, maybe soon if he got the chance to kill that demon. "Yeah...I bet she is." He nodded in agreement as they walked back to the room.

As expected, Anna jumped off her bed an ran over towards them with concern clear on her face. "I heard shouting. Is everything alright?"

"Yeah. Caius tripped." He spoke lightly clearly not believing what Cal had said.

"Um..." Anna blinked and looked at Caius. "At least you didn't hit your head. I'm sure Soren's done that a few times. It's why he's so grumpy." She stepped closer to ruffle the boy's hair. She would have done that to her brother but she knew how much it annoyed him when she did it.

Soren rolled his eyes, choosing not to acknowledge his sister's teasing, and tugged on Cal's arm. "Can we talk?" He spoke lowly. "Outside."

Hearing Cal laugh alongside with him made him quite happy to know that she was okay and not worrying about him. She helped him up and he scratched the back of his head embarrassed as he looked downwards with a meek smiled. Soren walked in quite curious about what happened and Cal began say he tripped. Did she not know what happened with Manitos? if so then why was she so worried about him? did she know that Manitos would do something like this?

His eyes widened as Cal's arm was hooked with his and before he could really react the three of them began to move out towards the Nephilim room. Anna was quite worried with all the yelling, but telling her that he tripped seemed to at least calm her. As she ruffled his head Caius closed his eyes and chuckled at her little joke at Soren. "heh..maybe thats why" Caius said glacing over at Soren who was looking pretty serious as he stood with Cal.

His eyes closed as he walked towards his bed and collapsed on top of it with a sigh before covering his face with his hand deep in thought. He still thought back to what happened and how Manitos was able to convincingly disguise herself as Cal. He had never been this upset before, it was far different than his hatred for his own father. He didn't want to worry Anna nor did he wish to tell Soren. Soren was just far too easy to anger and he didn't wish for him to be anymore enraged. For now all he could do was hide how much this moment affected him.
