http://www.rachelschallenge.com/ "You May Just Start A Chain Reaction" April 20th, 1999 was the Columbine High School shooting. 13 people were killed and Rachael Scott was the first victim shot at. She is now dead, and her brother was a hair from being shot. he watched 2 of his best friends die, but before they shot him, they were distracted by the sprinkler system going off. We had an assembly in school today about this. This really caught my attention because the two suspects in the shooting were shooting others, because they were picked on, and because two bombs didn't go off, they just opened fire. The one girl, who possibly had the kindest heart int he school, who was friends to many, and was friends to those who were picked on, was shot. watch the video, it'll be more understanding. We sat through the seminar for about 1 1/2 hours, and i thought it was just sad.. Here's a picture of Rachel Scott Discuss please <3
We had an assembly on this in Middle School. Sad story. I teared up a bit during the presentation... The whole thing about her knowing she was going to die young was a bit frightening.
Everyone around here pretends it never happened. That it could never happen. I had to ask a friend out of state what it was. It's very sad, enough to make me cry.
I was in high school when I found out about this, through the video. People in it were so paranoid...when they showed the little movie of a kid removing 20 some odd weapons from his pants, including a shotgun, I was laughing, going on 'who on earth could walk around with that many weapons on him'...looking at it today, I could kill myself for laughing.
I actually freaked out when the presenter said that some guy had dreamed of Rachel crying and something growing under her tears, and then her father found the picture in the back of her diary with her eyes in the sky, she's crying 13 tears and a rose is growing and 13 tears is connected to the 13 kids that died that made me think if she knew about the shooting... but idk i wouldn't worry about it too much... In highschool it's much different from being an adult (I take you are where you said you was in high school) Alot of us, as sophomores stayed in the gym, and me and like, 2 friends just hugged for an hour saying we all loved each other, and we signed a banner called 'Rachel's Challene' half of the freshman section was asleep, which I thought was so disrespectful. all they cared about what getting out of class.
There was another thing the presenter mentioned -- she told her family that she was going to die young. Normally I'm a skeptical person, but that really creeped me out.
I was doing research on school shootings. Here are my speculations: All of them is in relation to bullying and getting picked on.These guys wanted to turn the tables so they went for the most cruel and unforgivable act by killing the one person everyone loved to show what they had become. i also think that something else might be up.I don't think that they are doing this because they're being bullied, i think they're doing this for something more.I mean one guy went into his school and killed teachers and students because he didn't want to take a math test. It doesn't add up in anyway.
That shows hints of mental instability to me - maybe extreme bipolar, insanity, possibly coupled with something on the mild side of the Autism spectrum (making him unable to see consequences to his actions). Hell, maybe even schizophrenia.
