I know. There's a way around that though.

For example, if you just wanted to say "Lol.", then type "Lol" then hit the spacebar a few times before putting your period.

Well, don't worry about it too much. Once you have a basic understanding of the tools, it's easy to learn if you look at tutorials and experiment by yourself. That's how I learned. xD

Though I think there may be a downloadable trial version of Photoshop online somewhere, I know there used to be one.

Your major is graphic design? That's awesome, I hope to go into that field too.
