Life is too short to care about vanity.

Got back from a recital. Singing this piece. It could've gone a lot better, but I suppose it could've gone a lot worse as well for a first time. In the end, practice is practice is practice. Performing arts are hard. :'( at least I looked pretty cute (my strength).

[DOUBLEPOST=1433283082][/DOUBLEPOST]the rest of kh-v needs to post photos so I don't feel guilty for logging in once in a blue moon to photobomb

From now on, we should urge people to Live Long And Prosper instead of Rest In Peace. Just my thoughts.

No, you've been perfectly understandable and right. I was naive not to consider her condition from this aspect. I hope she recovers from cancer first and foremost, and take it from there. Priorities.

    Good luck.

Tough. I don't know what I would do if my grandmother died, she is the one person outside my immediate (nuclear) family that I can genuinely say I love-- yes, it is difficult to be close to extended family especially when you don't live in the same country. I think it goes without saying, spend time with your grandmother. You don't want to have any regrets when she passes, which at this point seems very possible; while it's ideal to stay positive one must also look ahead. However, take care not to rush her passage and try to keep yourself together. You can do it. Everyone has suffered from the conditions of loved ones, and emerged from grieving not unscathed but alive. At least you're not alone.

I don't really have a lot to say, because I've never had to face the possibility of a member in the family dying. I've had pets die, to whom I was extremely close to. My maternal grandpa was dead years before I was born, the paternal one died before I was old enough to truly care. My other, American grandmother treats her grandkids as tokens when she isn't distantly senile.

I have a question though. Does losing one's memory have to be such an ordeal? I can see why you, your mum, and her loved ones might be affected. But there's no reason why she should be "suffering" for a prolonged period of time, so long as she's taken proper care of and people take care to recognise her disability...

I've already tried that, and I've eaten soft bread as well. To no avail.

It's nice to know that it will probably dissolve, but ... will that not damage the vocal chords? Where will it dissolve? Where has it to go. It is not in the esophagus, afaik. That's the worrisome part.

I was supposed to visit a recording studio and have an opera lesson, but welp. Suppose that's cancelled now. FML.

I absolutely don't know wtf to do. I've gone to the doctor's, they were absolutely unhelpful. The pill is still there. The receipt reads that I have laryngitis? Which is totally bullshit imho, any inflammation can be attributed to the fact there's a goddamn tablet lodged in my throat. There's a bit of a language divide, and my grandmother was told merely that I have laryngitis; not that the pill is still there. She doesn't believe me, even though I had a wire shoved up my nose and down my throat and I saw it.

This happened four hours ago. It was a b-12 supplement.

Should I be concerned? Science side of kh-v, is b-12 harmful b/c I know some pills can corrode flesh if caught in the throat (and that's why you should always drink pills with water).

btw one of the ladies working at the hospital was wearing crocks which should have tipped me off right away as to the poor service of the place

update: I've also tried triggering my gag reflex and throwing up but that hasn't worked. can you throw something up when it's stuck in the vocal tract? how work?

my opera instructor taught me a practice method for building up breath support which involves balancing a fucking chair with your diaphragm

don't mess with opera singers, it's a hardcore profession.
